Obertan through the center would be a lot like playing a blindfolded HBA through the center, just shitter. Playing Shola with Cisse upfront might be an improvement over the complete isolation Cisse suffered against Norwich. This makes me sad.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO Would you like Cisse on the wing? Is that the problem? Now that's just mean Not as mean as when Cabaye doesn't start, Jonas is pushed centre and he puts Sammy Ameobi on the left. You like this? Krul Debuchy willo perch santon Cisse Anita Jonas Sameobi Obertan Shola Was going to post exactly the same thing (without Obertan) then and We could do with a rolling

From .com. Forgot just how cretinous Redknapp really is. Kind of wish he managed England now.

A Cabaye-Sissoko-Anita midfield looks quite nice. If we signed Sissoko, I don't think he'd replace Tiote directly as a DM, looks more a true box-to-box than DM.

It's just difficult to see where we are going to start progressing and keep progressing, we always seem to take those 3 steps back and take years to recover. This club should be fighting every single season in the top 8 and this season we have been embarrassing against teams like Reading, Norwich, Villa, West Ham, Southampton, West Brom - it's a fucking joke tbh - we are the worst footballing team in the league and a total laughing stock We've become the epitome of a yo-yo club
-
I was trying to be conservative with it. Good effort
-
I'd be ok with us not signing a striker if we get Moussa Sissoko and a top quality CB.
-
It would be so very satisfying to see QPR go down... if we don't anyway.
-
January please, although I'm sure he'll rip the championship to pieces
-
Lol, he looked like a french Nile Ranger back then
-
I'm not all that fussed if he isn't much of a goalscorer, all we really need is someone to support Cisse who is better than Shola
-
He is going to be replaced by Saylor, hopefully by the next game, so we'll find out soon enough I guess.

If Pardew tries 4-2-3-1 you know its going to turn into an Allardyce-era 4-5-1, sans the ability to bully teams into submission. I think we'll see exactly the same lineup we sent out against Norwich, maybe with Cabaye in for Perch.

The football is dire mate, absolutely rotten. Last season we could say 'yeah but it's getting results, he's making us hard to beat and we'll push on from there'. The way we started this season was enough to tell me that there was never the intention to move on from there, he only knows keep it tight and nick one football. He's getting stick because of the football, when you consider the talent we've got in some areas, we're an absolutely awful team. Bang on. Got to agree also. The football wasn't great for much of last season but it was masked by good results. imo he's yet to utilise the talents of Cabaye and especially Ben Arfa. and Marveaux and Cisse and Santon and... even Obertan tbh. I don't think Tiote consistently going backwards since Pardew has taken over is a coincidence either.

^ the reason Pardew should have been gone roughly 5 games ago

I know the table looks rotten but we've reversed a massive slide today and I'm over the moon with that. We're not going to go from being utterly s**** to even average from one game to the next without replacing the manager so we need to be patient. Wonder where the optimism is coming from, personally i dont see any improvement on Pardew's Part. The lack of ideas going forward was always his weakness, the lack of cohesion in team play was his weakness...making the team hard to beat was his only merit (in terms of tactics). We are just reverting, would be play better and start climbing the table? Honestly i see no signs of that in the last 17 matches.. Well, at least we're back to being somewhat resilient defensively now, thanks to Jonas being in the team again. Everything depends on next week now - have we really bottomed out or are we going to be relegated this season? The only times we look resilient defensively is when we defend really deep with all the attackers defending as well. Any team can do that, basically stick 10 men behind the ball, hoof a few long punts down the field and hope to nick one from somewhere. That's why I was quite impressed with Brighton last week. Not only did they have good defensive discipline, they also had good movement off the ball in possession. Looks like some coaching and planning goes on down there. Sometimes I wonder how Pardew got his coaching qualifications in the first place. Don't you have to know these things to coach a premiership team?

Going by some of the reactions on here I wouldn't be surprised. Oh I forgot, were we playing a top 4 no. We were playing a team that had lost their last 4 league games. Pathetic as usual. They've beat Arsenal and Man Utd at home this season, we had chances in the first half which if better final balls had of been played were scoring opportunities. For me it was a 'meh' performance, we didn't play well but we also weren't as awful as some seem to think. It was a bit like scoring a 50 on an exam where 50 is the passing mark.

Link-up play, fluidity & awareness

Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Marveaux in the same 11 I'm sure the 3 of them combined will whip up the necessary number of rabbits out of the hat to save us from relegation. -

We had nothing man. Teams with poorer players than us play some actual attacking football. Like who? We've got nothing breaking from midfield, nothing running in beyond Cisse, nowt out wide whatsoever. We've got a horrible lack of delivery and penetration in the players between Cisse and the defence. It's farcical, absolutely farcical. Norwich had a few absolutely comical players playing for them today, and despite being out of form they were still so much more cohesive than we were. Cabaye, Marveaux and Cisse are far better than anyone the bottom half teams have and we are still absolutely useless as a team.
