Whilst I do understand the point and being an isolated incident then it wouldn't make any sense to release him BUT its not as if its the only controversy he's been involved while at the club is it? That being said we should have made it one of our top prorities to find common ground with him and his agent and try to have compromised on a contract that would have pleased both sides. Absolutely mental state of affairs. I wonder what exactly has sparked this?? even if barton was allowed to see out his contract i cannot imagine him ever not giving 100% for the team, he just seems that sort of bloke. If pardew is anything but a puppet of ashley he has to resign over this debarcle. Still i suppose if barton goes to a big club he might score me more points in my fantasy league team.
