Quite over the top description I think, by little Sam.

    Primera Liga

Ruud Van Nistelrooy of La Liga = Didier Drogba of Premiership = MVP If Real Madrid win the La Liga this year they literally buy the title - RVN = £10.3M, Diarra = £18M, Higuain = £9M, Gago = £10.1M, Cannavaro + Emerson = £14M. Total = £61.4M
  4. FM is right, indeed FM is right in many things and have much much better players knowledge than almost every football fan. Clubs can appeal for a work permit to be granted, based on the potentiala and ability of the player. Liverpool did appeal for Gonzalez but the ruling didn't go their way. Would be interesting to see if Anderson could play for Manchester United.
  5. I think it is unfair to draw this conclusion based on this info. Many Premierhsip academies have produced some really good players. Everton have Richard Dunne, Leon Osman, Tony Hibbert, Francis Jeffer, Michael Ball, Wayne Rooney. Man City have Micah Richards, Ishmael Miller, Michael Johnson, Nedum Onuoha, Stephen Ireland. West Ham have Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick, Stephen Bywater. Leeds have Alan Smith, Jonathan Woodgate, Harry Kewell, Paul Rosinson, Aaron Lennon. Coventry City have Calum Davenport, Chris Kirkland, Gary McSheffrey. Aston Villa got Wayne Hendersson, Peter Whittingham, Liam Ridgewell, Steven Davies, Luke Moore, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Gary Cahill, Craig Gardner. Middlesbrough got Andrew Taylor, Anderw Davies, Chris Brunt, James Morrison, Josh Walker, Adam Johnson. Southampton got Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale. Newcastle United got Steven Taylor. We still have a long way to go.
  6. He is free. We should definitely go for him. Provide competition and back up to Zoggy, Duff and Milner.
  7. The main reason I believe is the stringent work permit condition. I think a foreign non EU player needs to at least represent his country 75% in past 2 years. With the plethora of creative players South America produce, many of them don't have the chances to represent their countries. Some of them possess dual nationality though. British club hardly sign any raw South American, African for this reason. Mark Gonzalez of Liverpool has to be parked in Real Sociedad. After 2 years he could get a Spanish (EU) passport and work freely in Uk. How exactly Watford got Rinaldi (Brazillian from Brazil equivalent of Championship, search Rinaldi, Chelsea in the video website) I don't know though. Perhaps he has dual nationality.
  8. I imagine like any other lad born and bred on Tyneside with a lifelong passion for the club, he is delighted. Uncalled for tbh. Uncalled for, how? He is very delighted to be the FFS mouthpiece day in day out, never embarrased in showing off his all encompassing Toon knowledge of past 2 milleniums, first to critises every glory hunter, Keegan bandwagon jumper perceived by him. He is a superfan of the highest order and he happily lives such life. He most likely relishes my descriptions of him. It is not uncalled for, it is called for, very much so. These are honour badges he pins on his toon scarf. And according to him, Newcastle United under Freddie Shepherd is the 5th most successful football club last decade. Shepherd is a saviour to the club and has done very well in leading the club's years after years Europe charges. What more can you ask for for a club outside top 4? He should be shitting his pants now that a successfully run, financially sound football club with glittering CV in the last decade he supports is being taken over by an non-geordie outsider who has not declared his intention publicly. He has stated too many times that a change of boardroom management will most probably be bad for the club hence his resistance to every takeover rumours and his staunch supports for Freddie Shepherd. To quote Keegan: "But I'll tell ya - you can tell him now if you're watching it - ... I tell you honestly, I will love it if I see his face - LOVE IT!."
  9. Would be interested to see the face of NE5 - the official FFS mouthpiece, the all knowing most loyal Newcastle United mighty super fan.
  10. Wacko what are the tag words?
  11. I've been tring to search for the footage on youtube. Saw it once with the speaker off and no ear phone. It is annoying now that I have my earphone but I couldn't find it.
  12. I don't think they can do much. Beckham has been delivering telling crosses all his life, against top class opponents for Manchester United, Real Madrid and England. Beckham is a class player who doesn't rely on speed. As long as he is sharp he will always be a huge menace.
  13. Gotta love The GUardian's coverage of La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A!
  14. 16 and getting a game? Id on't think so. It isnot that you haven't got any older young players waiting in line! Why are you selling Ridgewell? I don't understand, not that he has done badly and it would be nice for your club if Ridgewell and Cahill can become a regular partnership.
  15. Honestly think that with Ashley Young and Gabriel Agbonlahor you have 2 future stars in the making. They are already stars in fact. When Ashley Young was sold was 9M £ eyebrows were raised. But you pay the due price and for a good proffessional with youth, potential, excellent physical condidtion (except height) and ready made ability. Young, Agbonlahor, Gardner, Cahill, Ridgewell it is a good strong young spine and O'Neill have a really good platform to work with. And Luke Moore too.
  16. Nugent is not as proven as Vaughan, Lita, Derbyshire, Walcott and Agbonlahor. Noble is a typical English central dynamic midfielder in the mould of Gerrard and Lampard (obviously not in the same class). Only other U21 central midfielder of note is Tom Huddlestone. And maybe Michael Johnson of Manchester City?
  17. Media or the fan? I don't recall media castigating Beckham after the world cup. If there were any critism of Beckham it was scant. In fact it was the fans who slated Beckham relentlessly, conveniently ignoring facts that Beckham was far from the worse on the pitch, that Beckham was asked to lead the country and did what a normal patriotic player will do by doing his best, that Beckham wasn't the manager who picked the tactics.
  18. I don't think he is good enough for Sunderland. They have Tobias Hysén, Dean Whitehead, Grant Leadbitter, Graham Kavanagh, Liam Miller, Ross Walace and Carlos Edwards.
  19. Yeah. £67,850 pa doesn't sound bad to me. He'd just have to use it wisely so that he has enough to live comfortably when he retires at 36 or whatever. Still, it shows the gap when there are dozens of players in the Premiership who earn more in a week than a League One player does in a year. It is only fair though. An League One football fans will still watch the Premiership (hence the money) yet an average Premiership football fan will hardly watch League One.
  20. If you don't like Lita you still have Matt Derbishire, Theo Walcott and David Nugent. Don't like Hoyte you still have Liam Rosenoir, Steven Taylor, Nedum Onuoha and Micah Richards.
  21. I have recently been told off by a mod for starting pointless, stupid, useless, childish, joke thread quoting worst source possible. I am desperately short of readers not to mention suitors.
  22. Squarefootball After last night display, nad with the 3-3 draw againsy Italy, surely England, alongside Portugal, will be the favourites to win the tournament? Talking about England lacking good young talented footballers, a line up of Scott Carson Justin Hoyte, Steven Taylor, Gary Cahill, Leighton Baines James Milner, Nigel Reo Coker, Noble, Ashley Young Leroy Lita, James Vaughan will be a midtable force in the Premiership
  23. Pretty sure England will win 2-0 or more.
