  1. Yes. But How was Carragher at fault for both goals?
  2. No. I have the feeling that Butt and Parker are going to be the Speed and Campo of BOlton for Sam Allardyce of Newcastle United.
  3. Do you see how Carragher play against Barcelona and AC Milan? Very part and parcel of one of the premiership best defenses for 2 consecutive seasons. Yeah he may make those last ditch tackles but if his tackles help him defend well so be it.
  4. Gejon are you so stupid that you don't know that the Darren Moore I am talking about is the Darren Moore in the Premiership?
  5. How exactly is Carragher overrated? Against physical opponenets he has done well, consistently. Against skillful opponenets he has done well, consistently. King a good defender he is is not as good as Carragher. And he is just back from the injury and not exactly his oldself.

    Nani

Then what is Nani famous for?
  7. What !? If anything they need to buy new attacking players not defensive players. Darren Moore, Dean Leacock are better than our defenders now. If we couldn't get Sol Campbell we could just get his look alike Moore from Derby. Derby have one of the best defensive record in the Championship and one of the worst attacking records among the top championship clubs.
  8. The similarity is startling but it is also not identical. For a start Billy Davies is significantly older (still young overall) and has more managing experience. Derby also has better flair player - David Jones, Giles Barnes as compared to Bouzza, Young. Watford had an excellent keeper and decent Championship defence whereas Derby has decent keeper but excellent defense. The reason Watford has been poor result wise this season is that the summer buyings were unsuccessful (Damien Francis, Danny Shittu, Tamas Priskin, Tommy Smith), and a lot more importantly, the long term injury of their top scorer Marlon King. If Derby is just slightly luckier with no major long term injury next season, and with some better tranfers, then Derby will have significantly better chance to stay up.
  9. Newcastle United haven't bought Yakubu so the question of Yakubu leaving does not exist ...
  10. Agree with you that they certainly need more qualities, but it looks to me that there will be some uncertainties and weakened teams next season and if Derby can make use of the situation they might just survive. Wigan and Fulham have new managers and mediocre teams. Steve Bruce's Birmingham rely heavily on players' quality this season so next season they might struggle as they will face better players. So maybe Derby will just finish bottom 4th? I don't know it is just an educated guess.
  11. Excellent tactician Davies is. Think he will come up with other suitable tactics to survive in the Premiership. He took the risk and spend big (relatively) during January when they were top of the league. He got in some players that make massive contributions to the promotion. Think he is certainly brave yet sophiscated enough to take risks and get the right players during this summer.
  12. Disagree with this I think they will just manage to stay up. They have got the Sol Campbell and Rio Ferdinand of the Championship division. With JOnes and Barnes they have some real quality in their side. But obsiouly they definitely need to buy more qualities. They need 2 good strikers and few more midfielders.
  13. 1. Don't know why Foster, Bent, Rooney aren't picked. Is Rooney injured or something? 2. Agree with the Beckham call up. He deserves it. 3. Don't know why Green, Neville, Jenas, Smith and Dawson are picked. From the selection my starting line up will be Carson Brown, Terry, Ferdinand, Bridge Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Cole Owen, Crouch
  14. Koumas is also a quality player. So as Koren, Kamara and McShane. I think Etthelington would do much better leaving WBA too.
  15. Stop the bickering why must there be bickerings in every thread? NE5 is not here I thought there will be world peace! Few points I want to make after reading all posts: 1. Stewrt Downing is the best English left footed left winger I stand by my point. Joe Cole is a better player in that position but no on else is. Lennon does not do well here. Barry is not as good as Downing, and M. Taylor has not been selected thus far. Unless you count Milner. But Milner does not beat players and his crossing is not as good as Downing. 2. Saha is an excellent player who is injury prone. If he could be fit consistently Man U wouldn't have wanted Berbatov, a similar type of player, who is slightly better but costs a lot more. 3. Smith is a nothing player apart from his effort and nuisance. He took his goal well but apart from that he was largely unimpressive. Ok maybe I am too harsh he is a decent link up forward but nothing much more than that I think. 4. Why Phil Jagielka on right back? Why Ledley King at DM? But I suppose it is a friendly and McLaren is entitled to tinker and experiemnt.
  16. Giles Barne is definitely a talent. One of the best players in the Championship.
  17. Loan deal would be great for you. But with the new TV money I do think that you hsould have a serious look at buying him. His quality is up there with Mikel Arteta and such talents, young+available+not-too-expensive+good personality+proiven quality don't come too often.
  18. Ratings anyone? I only watch bit and patches of the game. These players are supposedly younger, hungrier, not money grabber who don't give a shit for national team. Yet the team is not overwhelming against a not so good Albania. Bentley is having a good game but does anyone else think (like me) that he crosses too many times? I think he is trying to emulate Beckham and takeover his place eventually. But I would prefer him to driblle more often. I don't know why Alan Smith is getting games when there are other players clearly better than him (Defoe, Bent etc) Kaka: Stewart Downwing is the best left footer lef winger this country has got after Joe Cole, who is not even left footed.

    Martin Allen

Neil Warnock? Nigel Worthington? BOth are proven managers. Stuart Pearce might worth a gamble too. Maybe in a time of new young managers a proven pair of old hand is key to success.
  20. Have you changed your opinions on David Moyes? Will you take up the option to buy Manual Fernandes? He is a huge talent and a proven quality for you. David Moyes seems always hittting the right note in transfer market recently.

    Martin Allen

Thing is though there are many young, up and coming managers with very decent CV. Martin Allen's doesn't stand out and don't you think he is a bit of gamble considering the ambition of Mandaric? Phil Parkinson, Paul Simpson, Billy Davies, Mick McCarthy, George Burley, Brian Law, Iain Dowie. Hard to see how Martin Allen could stand out amongst them, of course unless Mandaric knows something I don't (which is very likely). Watford and Norwich appoint Boothroyd and Grant respectively despite them being largely unknown prior to the appointments.

Pardon my ignorance but who is this manager?
