  1. C Babayaro T Krul P Ramage C Moore S Ameobi M Owen Only Michael Owen would be a first teamer, and Babayaro at a stretch. With Martins and Sibierski in such fine form, Glenn Roeder can no longer use the injury situation as excuses.
  2. What do you guys think about wor Andy Carroll? Does he have the potential? The Journal
  3. Anyone has any idea who Glenn's coaching staff are? The Journal
  4. West Ham won't be in the premiership next season though. If this is true, my guess - Man City maybe?

    Berbatov for Toon

There were quite a handful of people laughing at Berbatov just a while ago. They are now hiding in their own holes.
  6. Recollection of opinions. And that Avinel (which I think I put it in accidentally in copying and pasting names) apart, most Watford fans should have seen others quite a few times already.
  7. I don't know why would your mate pick Spector out of the many players. Maybe because he is young. Maybe because he is new. Maybe because he is cheap. But it must be quite sad for your mate to concentrate on Spector. He is only a right back, hardly the most influential player on the pitch. He also hardly puts little effort in his works, nor he has made silly blunders after blunders, nor him part of the Baby Bentley group. Maybe after 5 years Spector will just be another player plying his trade in the championship. For now if I were the manager I am willing to take him and develop him.
  8. Which West Ham player (apart from the injured one) hasn't been shocking this season? Even Tevez has only scored 1 goal in many games, very shocking by his standard. I think Fatty Reid could be a useful squad player, Shittu I am having second thought now. Out of 21 players you only critised 3. Surprised that your Delima bashing valve isn't fully opened this time!
  9. Glad that I entertain you When wanting a player I don't necessary think the player must be better than our current one. Potential and need of cover weigh a lot in my calculation.

  11. It is simple logic that we need to play to our strength. There is no point forcing ourself to play slow possessive football when we are so used to high tempo pressing game. Vice versa, if a Spanish team are used to ball playing game then trying to the other way is just suicide. Personally I don't think that there must be a "best" way to play football. Possessive football is not necessarily the jinx of pressing game, vice versa. It really depends on the merit of the very team. But it would also be naive to assume that pressing game is the patent of northern European teams and possessive football the patent of Latin teams. People point to Barcelona and say they are the ball playing beautiful team, but they forget that Barcelona always press and pressurise the opponent everytime to they lost the possession. Deco, Puyol, Marquez etc never shirk in any physical battles. We talk about Manchester United playing high tempo swashbuckling game but we shouldn't forget that Scholes, Giggs, Beckham etc were very comfortable with balls and passing. At the end of the day, it is the results that matter. The bottom line for any club who want success is that they have to have excellent players who excel both in techniques and physical confrontation. Too much physical play too little technique you end up like Bolton, Everton and Blackburn. Too much technique too little pressing you end up like Celta Vigo or Arsenal. There are enough talents and good players in the English National team. We just need to keep playing to our strength by maintaining our high tempo pressing game. Playing at an unfamiliar slow tempo game England could still draw Spain comfortably, what if we have more spirits and play more directly and breath at their necks more often?
  12. Just curios Invicta. When have I claimed to be Newcastle United supporter? Perhaps another apology is due from you?
  13. I am just jumping on the recent Spurs teasing bandwagon Hopefully no one voted for him. For the record I don't rate Dawson, thought Lescott is a better player.
  14. Does Carragher get enough credits he is due? Often we see him appearing in the list of most overrated players but what has he done to warrant such degradation? If you were Steve McLaren, and if both Jonathan Woodgate and John Terry are fully fit, which 2 central defenders will you pick in the qualifying match later this month? Jamie Carragher and John Terry, who is the better hard man? Rio Ferdinand and Jonathan Woodgate, who is the better game reader? The Guardian
  15. Coward - A man incapable of taking responsibility of his own comment. I shouldn't have expected much anyway.
  16. Indeed I am wrong here. Sorry for the confusion.
  17. Middlesbrough has Boateng who is piss poor We have Nicky Butt who has been great Yet somehow we are only a place above them. You have very good assessment!
  18. St. James Park is the Theater of Dream because of its fantastic architecture. Newcastle United are the Academy of Football because of the excellent academy kids we have always produced (Ramage, Pattison) The supporters are nicknamed the Kop. The wifes of the male supporters are dogs. Our manager job is one of the 8 most sought after managerial job in the world. The people have such a distinct culture and lingo that they qualify as a Nation. They are discriminated by the southeners because those people are jealous of our wealth, nationhood and beauty. Our collective favourite pastime is a chat with courtesans based in La Manga, Spain. We often brand others Mary Poppins if we worship them as heroes. We often settle disagreements with punches.
  19. I have been playing yahoo soccermanager for 2 years. Highly addictive. Not going to join anymore online game as I only 24 ours per day Need to cut down N-O browsing too!
  20. This is a much better football game. www.uk.soccermanager.yahoo.net Unfortunately the game is experiencing some problems on the forum
  21. What an idiot. You admit yourself that you have seen little of him yet you confidently deny that he was any kind of brilliant player. While if other people opine that Luque was a brilliant player from what they have seen in La Liga, you shoot them down like you wank.
