The miss is one thing, but the worst thing about him is if it's not a physical battle in the air (which he isn't even good at) he wants no part of it. Gets rid of the ball like it's a hot grenade, doesn't seem bothered if it's to a teammate or opposition.

Southgate has negotiated the tournament well overall so far. But we've also played 4 teams worse than us. Huge test against France, we'll need to be tactically spot on and he may need to adjust things quickly in game. Things he's rightly been criticised for lacking/not doing against Croatia and Italy when it matters.

Quality in the final 3rd the only difference. Don't think the Dutch are that good tbh.

I get what Southgate has done and appreciate him. But when you're in the middle of a match and there are blatant problems that keep resurfacing it's hard to think about things holistically. After seeing us under Howe and how he's got the best out of players nowhere near the quality of the side, it is frustrating. He doesn't seem to ever acknowledge issues or learn from mistakes either which erodes my patience with him.
