One of the few highlights for me from yesterday's World Cup football, was watching the USA-Slovenia match in a pub just off Sauchiehall Street, and this loud, obnoxious Yank fan was totally screaming his head off at the big screen, generally getting on everyone's tits (I know, it's so unlike an American to do that!) but then a wee gadgie chipped into a moment's silence in the room with "Haud yer wheesht man!!! Ah cannae hear the fuckin' vuvuzelas!!!". Only in Glasgae! Pure class!

They're not getting banned. I was saying to a work mate only yesterday that I reckoned it was only a matter of time before they do get banned - I'd kinda hoped it wouldn't last out the whole weekend before FIFA stepped in and commonsense prevailed. Honestly, these bastard vuvuzelas have the potential to drive the world insane. And I just simply cannot wait for them to be brought back home and used at matches up and down the country here - that will be just brilliant.
