And if anyone needs train tickets .....drop me a PM.
-
They would be tremendous odds to take but we are nowhere near being that safe. Who's offering 14's? edit.. Bloody hell, 12/1 on Ladbrokes. I'll be having a ten spot on that. Wolves 3/1 just to win. Nice double.

Anyone know what the odds are on NUFC being relegated?
-
A point I made a week or two ago only to be slaughtered.

I applied through the UEFA website. Was surprised to get them actually as I usually get the knock back. It is just a lottery though. With it being in Dyblin I might just bother me arse to go as I have family in Dublin and Cork so might make a holiday of it. Well if you decide against it drop me a pm (or to geordie_b) or a text. I will do indeed.

Although I've likely shifted close to 1k tickets for NUFC (mainly away) games I've not looked to make a single penny profit form any of my fellow Toon supporters. Would I look to profit from a Scouse scally or a Manc wank? Answers on a post card.....

Just got the email to say I've got 2 50e tickets. Just my bastard luck Citeh and the Bindippers have been knocked out.

Would we be a better team/squad with or without those players? Where will HBA be playing season after next if he realises his potential and puts himself in the shop window?

Nobodys getting on a high horse, just a discussion. Can you see any long term benefits in employing this approach? ashley moves on? Or gives him more of a reason to stay. Some really great discussion in this thread lads, what a read. Of course he'll stay if he can continually turn investments of £0m to £5m into £8m to £10m profit he'll just produce a conveyor belt of players sold for profit. Trouble is that NUFC ssupporters will be paying £500+ every season to watch nothing more than a talent drain. We'll have no real opportunity to break the top 8 because it'll be those Clubs that are asset stripping our team. My concerns exactly. Call it pessimism, but in my opinion it's the reality we now face. If we turn players who cost nothing into £8m to £10m profit continually, the club will be making some unbelievably impressive buys, be employing a mightily impressive coaching staff, and providing a great enviroment on the pich to allow talent to shine, while being successful enough to attract the next bunch of recruits. Call me optimistic, but if that's the reality we now face, then I'm not concerned at all. I'd be delighted. /My opinions on this though are more in line with IanW's a few posts back for the record. The asset stripping arguement is utterly unsustainable which conflicts directly with the policy Ashey is apparently trying to lay down for the club. Carroll, Milner and Bassong all realised an instant profit and where immediately sold. Tell me NUFC would not be a better Club with all three stil in B&W shirt. If it isn't the fact they were sold its the timing that is the killer as none have been replaced in the same window. Pity for those backing the Club that any player who prove his wrth will undoubtedly go on to realise his ambitions at ......not NUFC. Who's the losers?

I don't understand why folk are all of a sudden getting on their high horse about Ashleys buy cheap, sell expensive plan. Its been crystal clear what his intentions are for a long while now.

Live Games Up To 1st May - Man U (h) and Chelsea (a) now on Sky

Ticket prices for Man U home are a joke. £42 is the price! (The price I wont be paying) -
Barton getting interviewed on Late Kick Off tonight. BBC1. 11-05pm.

Second leg next Saturday. Could see W.B. back at Wemblet for the third year in a row.

As feared/suspected/expected. I suspect that Barton's new contract means a big cut in his guaranteed salary, but there would be a lot of performance-related top-ups. I think that's what happened when Owen's contract came up for renewal. There's been talk from the club that this is the style of contract that they now want to offer. If so, we've seen players like Tiote and Ben Arfa quite willing to sign up in the last few months, and this is the first we've heard of any major rift between Barton and the club in terms of the actual amount being offered. The previous talk has been about whether it should be 2 or 3 years, or whether Barton wants to wait and see how the Carroll money is going to be spent. We do have a number of players on inflated basic salaries, and it was always going to be a problem when, as with Owen, their renewal came up. An offer based on the performance of the player and/or the team seems a reasonable way forward. Continuing to pay huge amounts when the players who are coming in are being paid far less doesn't seem a viable option to me. The problem with offering performance related pay is that other Clubs will happily pay him a wage that guarantees his income. Then its 'bye bye' time.

Should Harper be our number 1 in the Premier League - Next Season
Crumpy Gunt replied to Decky's topic in Football
Which is the exact point I try to make. You can sometime s see players screaming for the ball and ....nothing from Harper. -

I agree, let's terminate all of our players' contracts since none of them are anywhere near the best in the world in their positions. Unacceptable. So, how highly would you rate Harpers distribution in comparison to lets say ....Reina at Liverpool? -

Harper looks like a bad joke when you compare him to someone like Reina. Harpers distribution is shocking and should be given a DVD of Reina and how he delivers it quickly with either a throw or a kick that is anything but just punted in the general direction of up field. The rebuild for me starts at the very back. -
Its all very relevant though. The Club is a fucking disgrace. Not a single one of our first choice centre forwards would get in any squad with ambition to stay up. Not a single one is Premier League quality. Best in reality provides our best opportunity for finding the net and lets not be shy about it - he's average as average could be. Hard to think a Club attracting 50k supporters on a match day could find itself in such a disgusting (EMBARRASSING more like) state.

Well the they had better get down to SJP for the relegation dogfight.
