  1. Of course they would. I love how people seem to find excuse after excuse for what is (now) very clearly the footballing equivalent of Sports Direct. I'll happily admit I've forgiven M.A for loads of his early mistakes and was in the 'give him time, we need to change etc etc' camp for years but it's beyond me how people keep buying the pardew progaganda and seemingly creating reasons for our players 'wanting away' when it's obvious every player will have a price, the fans don't matter a jot and will continue to get steam rollered into wherever Mike Ashley want's them.
  2. Do you know what the Liverpool owners have planned for the next two years? I'd say having signed our most promising home grown talent in 25 years + targetted the best left back we've had in the same period they're showing more ambition than most - if they can add a few more squad players to their core next year they will be Champions League contenders.
  3. The club wants him to stay, but Enrique wants a move, period! NUFC cannot make an salary exemption for Enrique because that will potentially unsettle the rest of the squad and set the standards for all future contract negotiations. Do you think Barton will accept being paid considerably less the the club's left back? And what effect will a special treatment of Enrique have on our two best players HBA and Tiote? As long as NUFC are willing to give Enrique maximum pay within todays salary policy, they've done everything they can to keep him. If Enrique still wants to leave, despite the pending influx of players, it's his choice and the club cannot do anything with it. Why does he want to move? Isn't he happy with our 'top ten finish every year' aspiration? If he's worth £10m + £70k per week (say a four contract giving a total value of about £23m) to Liverpool, why isn't he worth £13.4m to us over the same period (£70k per week, no fee)? Let's not pretend this isn't a just another example of the 'buy'em low, sell 'em high' mentality that will run through the club for as long as Ashley is here. And, what impact on squad harmony, will that policy have do you think? Knowing your star players every year are fair game for clubs willing to pay them what they're worth. I'm looking forward to the bids for Colo coming in and then Tiote. That said, at least we can look forward to the likes of Ameobi, Best and Lovenkrands for the next few years. Happy Days.
  4. You've only got to look back at Golfmag's post to know Jose will be off. The reason Hughton went was because he wasn't prepared to sell the high earners and that's always been Pardew's remit. Bend over, take what Mike's giving him and smile to the rest of the world knowing he wouldn't get a job as big as this for any other reason.
  5. Tis my opinion. Enrique is stronger, hardly beaten by a winger, a better tackler, has better distribution and offers more going forward. And I don't dislike Simpson. Enrique is the best left back we've since my time supporting the club (20 years).
  6. Simpson is a fifth of the player - that's why.
  7. Comes across as a complete greedy cunt in that article mind.
  8. A potential fee which would double what we paid for him, a ready made excuse of him wanting out/not signing a new contract and a big wage off the books. That's an Ashley wet dream. There's not a player in the side he won't listen to offers for. Get used to it.
  9. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13036016.stm Bougherra confirming he'll be leaving Rangers in the summer after rejecting a 2 year extension). What's the betting he'll end up here?

    Joey Barton

Like an assurance from Ronald McDonald on leaving him to look after your pet cow.
  11. Agree - if Wigan go down will Dave Whelan be able to personally fund their time in the championship without having to sell or will he have to offload a few? Thinking of Moses mainly but assume he wouldn't want to lose anything on him.
  12. I must be the only one who thought he looked good last night........................... His hold up play was strong, he layed the ball off well and would've scored if it wasn't for the Goonie Heed getting in the way.
  13. Chelsea -1 @ 5/4. £8 returns £14. Fuckers bound to let me down.

    Steven Taylor

Pardew's not missed a chance to play from memory (may be wrong) and he's yet to stand out/play a 'Colo'. Just seems a coincidence that Taylor's not stopped hanging out the back of Pardew and get's a game whenever he's fit to the detriment of the team.
  15. If they sign 3 first teamers they'll be a top four outfit next year. Do you fancy a friendly few quid on it? Depends like, I'd be willing to make a wager at the end of the next transfer window depending on who they've signed. To sign the players you said it would take about £40 - £50 million. It's worth noting that in the last season they've made a profit on player expenditure (dem be like Ashley), this summer will test how keen the new owners are to actually invest. Fair enough - let's review after the summer window. I just think they're closer to the top four than you reckon. If they take Jose their back line will look a lot better, add a winger to that (I reckon they'll invest heavily in this area for sure) and they've got some serious ammunition for Carroll to use.

  17. I just think Man Utd will need significant investment over the summer and Chelsea will perhaps need to think of replacing key men soon (having already spaffed £50m on Torres) meaning there may be gap for a new force next year if anyone can get it together over most of the season. If liverpool line up something like this, then they'd be there or thereabouts is what I'm saying:- Reina Kelly/Johnson New CB Carragher Enrique New Winger Meireles Gerrard Joey Cole Suarez Carroll Granted their defence doesn't look the best but if they did sign a strong centre half, they could be very effective.
  18. If they added Enrique, a centre back and a winger in the summer they'd be top 2 imho. Err, nar. The problem with Liverpool is they gutted their midfield which included their best and most important player, Alonso. Until they replace Masch and Xabi they're not going to get back in the top 4. If they improve the positions mentioned above I'd put a wedge on them breaking back into the top 4.

    Alan Pardew

Pardews luckiest break ever has been the spirit he inherited when he joined and the fact the senior players didn't spit their dummies out when he was appointed (after the initial outrage). It's that spirit which has kept us up this year. His biggest challenge will be keeping that going next year. Though, I have my doubts given he's got no influence over the Board and hence no control. He's a puppet and the loss of a Barton or Nolan (more for their influence with the rest of the squad than ability) could see us royally in the shite.
  20. If they added Enrique, a centre back and a winger in the summer they'd be top 2 imho.

Nowhere near as good for the team as Williamson.
