  1. Not bothered about his personal life but I think the gutter is that we'll now go into the World Cup without a 'different' Plan B. If we were to be chasing a game it would've been nice to throw on Beckham and Crouch to change it up. Whether we take Walcott, SWP or Lennon none of them can cross with any real accuracy consistently. I'd be seriously considering Adam Johnson as a wild card entry if I was Capello, at least that way the opposition won't know much about him.

    Phil Brown

Pissed off because, like his mate Fat Sam he'll be all ower the TV now proclaiming to be an expert. Dirty tea bagged stained bastard.
  3. Presuming they all stayed fit (obviously never gonna happen) then there's a very slim chance that they would stay up. It would be like watching Wimbledon mind and our possession percentage in the final third would probably go down as some sort of record low but we'd score the occasional goal from the occasional hoof and pack 10 men behind the ball enough to give us a hope I would guess.
  4. Just playing devils advocate on the Ambrose love........... Ambrose has done really well this year but would he be able to perform in the big league? I have my doubts, unless the formation was built around him. Meaning the question is would you build your system around an unproven Championship player when we're obviously going to be scrapping from day one. Also, I'd be up for someone of like Ben Haim (experienced, can play a number of positions etc) but reluctant to pay big wages on someone you'd rather wasn't starting every week for any length of time. Is there anyone in France/Spain that can be picked up to do something similar without the ability to demand big cash?
  5. I think some credit is due for the investment this season. Not that choosing not to invest would have been an option anyway but how badly does this guy (and, more widely, the club) need some PR guidance? They could've gone some way to mending the numerous broken bridges by thanking the fans now for their unwavering support of the team this season. Why even give the press a quote? Poor decision by Decka their. Having said that I for one am thankful for Ashley this season, or rather thankful that we've got an owner who is financially capable of personnally supporting the club during a time of sea change in footballs financial outlook. Whilst I totally appreciate the 'it's his fault we're in this position' argument at some point we'd have hit the financial buffers and had to rely upon him. As for the 'he should have done his due diligence' argument, well yes, but actually if any other interested party had of done theirs we may have been heading towards financial armageddon under Freddie, who was fortunate to have been pushed out when he was otherwise we could very well have been the next Portsmouth or worse - can you imagine Freddie implementing a policy that wouldn't enable us to sign anyone decent or pay them big bucks? No, neither can I. I think we've needed Ashley more than most fans would care to admit but that's not to say he's handled the management and PR side of the club well at all. At this stage, given the bigger picture for football, I'll stick my neck out and say I'm glad we've got him and I'm prepared to give the fat fucker a second chance.
  6. Was going to post about this yesterday and got side tracked. A mate of mine is a season ticket holder down here in Brighton and reckons the boy is going down a storm. They're loving his pace and reckon he's raped every full back he's played thus far. Also the Seagulls fan are apparently impressed with his ability to control the ball - not sure if that rings true with those who've seen him play for our ressies?
  7. The cheeky fucker - he's had every other bastard strain, sprain and break over the last 5 or 6 years. Cunt features. Fucking hate the bastard.
  8. A £10 double on Liverpool and Villa returns £52 on Skybet. Hmmmmm.
  9. I'm sure Bellamy said something about Terry when he turned his head away whilst shaking his hand pre-match. Anyone else spot it?
  10. I can kind of see his point but he may feel he's cut his nose off to spite his face if we do well. Puts pressure on Cole to be fully fit.
  11. Has confirmed he's now unavailable for selection. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8536491.stm Thoughts?
  12. Minhosa

    14 players

Or the Kevin Nolan - seats 50.
  13. Minhosa

    14 players

    1. Milburn 2. Shearer 3. Macdonald 4. Beardsley 5. Albert 6. Solano 7. Lee 8. Ginola 9. Srnicek 10. Batty 11. Mirandihna 12. Sellars 13. David Kelly 14. Des Hamilton
  14. I'd not re-sign Beye on principle now tbh...........also he's dead money - he'll have very little resale value and he'll be after decent wonga. That kid from Derby (centre half) looked a very good player and would be worth signing a la Victor Moses - an investment who may come good but would be a low risk buy.
  15. I hope he proves me wrong. I've seen nothing in him to suggest he'll contribute when we go up. me neither to be honest. however, i do think that he needs more time than what he has been given. Don't disagree - the club are obliged to give him playing time now. Not fair for them to sign the guy and write him off. He may be fortunate in that we'll be promoted with a good few games to spare meaning he can have a pressure free run to sort his confidence out. The downside of that of course is it means Ranger etc have their opportunities limited when it's exactly the time we should be getting them out in front of good crowds, with first teamers in positive atmospheres where the crowd won't give them any stick. Which is why the Best signing makes even less sense.
  16. I hope he proves me wrong. I've seen nothing in him to suggest he'll contribute when we go up.
  17. I accept that but what I don't get is why sign the guy at all? It's not like we have high expectations these days regarding number of signings or even quality for that matter and most seemed happy with those made during the Jan window before his arrival. It's not like Ashley spends money easily, so why bother?
  18. It's not even the lack of goals it's his shite positional sense and dreadful movement (or should that be lack of movement) that makes me think he'll be a bad buy. He's shown nothing.
  19. Exactly - which is what would rule Keane out. He is the type of player we need though - I totally agree with that. We could just do without spaffing £75k a week on him.
  20. Still don't agree with this signing. Said it at the time and will say it again - he's not a premiership player and that's where we'll be next year. Would've rather perservered with Ranger's development.
