  1. I hope he is better than Jose by a factor of 20 and we sign him for a button and a pecan nut. Does not compute.
  2. He's rubbish at this level tbh. However, if he's only here to cover for injuries, it shouldn't be a massive problem. How many times have you seen him at this level? I am waiting for Ronaldo's assessment tbh. He's liaising with flatmates as we type.
  3. You're a visionary TT. Oh yes.
  4. I'd think they'd be after someone more proven given their pressing need for points, hence the RVN interest. May be wrong mind. I'd think we'd more likely face competition from Arsenal and Spurs who have history of taking punts on up and coming talent.
  5. I'd be delighted to sign Moses - fully expect him to go to Spurs or someone like that though. He is pretty much the Ashley Blueprint signing though - young, bags of potential, relatively cheap.
  6. Moses isn't going to come to us.............but, he is the type of player that could be used to convince Ashley to spend. He's young, coveted, potential to increase in value - I reckon Ashley would find the money for him. It's a favourable gamble - and he loves those.
  7. Maybe the case historically but they've never been as well off as they are now surely?
  8. White Chocolate Andy Sinton Andy Sinton wasn't as fast and was a better crosser no?
  9. True Story. He's also made of glass which doesn't help.
  10. The thing that worries me most about Barton (excluding the fact he's a bit mental) is this; We don't know how to use him because he doesn't fit into a traditional central midfield mould. He's not a breaker of play but nor is he an accomplished creator of play. Does that make sense? He doesn't excel in any one aspect of central midfield play - he doesn't tend to score many, he can't thread a pass, he's not the best tackler, or header and he doesn't seem to dictate play. However, he is an all round decent operator and, for that reason alone, he is better than our current DM and ACM options but that still doesn't get past the problem of his use. What does he bring? Well, he's a bit better than Guthrie at most things, he's got legs which makes him automatically superior to Nolan and Butt and he's got energy meaning he can potentially drive the team forward. Doubtless, he'll make a difference at this level - he'll never be a big player in the premiership until we find his best position and coach the fucker back into top level football in that position - as it is he's everybodys saviour but nobodys long term solution.
  11. He needs to man up and have a pop at the ref when interviewed tonight - none of this Mr Nice Guy shite.
  12. Ambition check. We're en-route back to the premiership and we should be striving to cement the promotion and preparing the squad for mid-table safety, not a battle with relegation as soon as we get back to the promised land. This signing smacks of keeping costs down ahead of planned sale, hence its for Mike's benefit and not the good of the team.
  13. We're basically signing the weakest link in our back 5 on a permanent basis. Confirms everything we already knew about the current administration. Why try bettering ourselves when mediocre will suffice?
  14. Prefer Homer or Bart than this tool.
  15. Would be a good buy if they can get him on the cheap but if they're after why buy Vieira? And how many dm's do they need? Barry Vieira De Jong Flamini? Apparently Flamini is now a right back. Ah - in which case, a very strange buy. I can think of plenty stronger right backs than him, unless he's drastically improved at Milan. I didn't even think he'd played much for them.

  17. I think Ron Jeremy would be a better bet - probably does more training than our OAP.
  18. I meant to log back in last night and clarify my reason for starting the thread but got waylaid. By tactics, I mean his pre-match change to 4-5-1 with the two wide boys (Thomas in particular) covering effective ground and sticking to their jobs well. His decision to crowd the midfield rendered our Attacking Mid position ie; Nolan ineffective (not hard, I hear you say) and gave Smith no time or space to dictate play in the way he has in certain games this season. Bendner was a good choice too and he lead the line well. For all they didn't impress defensively at all they looked well drilled in the other 2/3rds of the pitch and had clearly done their homework. If they had gone 4-4-2 I think we would have beaten them He does appear to have graduated from the Dennis Wise Charm school with his pre and post match interviews but I thought his team selection and their drilling was well thought out.
  19. Got his tactics absolutely spot on tonight imo.
  20. Throwing money away if we bring this clown in.
