  1. True story. The draw with Sheff Weds wouldn't have looked as bad if it was followed by a win tonight - as it is they're a pair of fucking woeful results and the team deserve the pressure they're putting themselves under. There is no pressure though, the media certainly don't apply any and the players hardly play like they're being chased down by West Brom etc. I can't see Hughton drilling it into them either. We're still top so everything is fucking great. You're right Dave - I badly worded it - I meant the pressure that's going to come their way. There's a real danger they'll bottle this.

  3. It was in the comics yesterday (I know). It might explain why it's not been done or agreed already. 250k? Is it really that bad. Boro paid 2m for Ledger. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm wondering whether Ashley will pay it considering we're top of the league and really ace. That's what I touched upon earlier - the fat fucker is a gambler and I suspect he'd rather take a chance than pay to be sure of something. I wouldn't be gutted if we did bring Harewood back but I think his limited movement can impact the side negatively - he could come off the bench and win games though and that shouldn't be overlooked.
  4. Didn't you say last night that if Harewood came back we'd have four of the best strikers in the league? We could've done with a Harewood vintage tonight like, maybe the Notts Forest or Doncaster perormances. Harewood has more goals than your pal Carroll despite having half the time on the pitch. If Ranger, Ryan Taylor and Steven Taylor had finished their easy chances today would anyone have even brought up Harewood? No... No comment needed but lots of :mackems: :mackems: I'd like a comment to be honest because I haven't got a clue what you're going on about. It's not like Harewood scored in every game he played. When we were winning without Harewood scoring were you asking for another goalscorer? Because Harewood was looking like a goalscorer which is what we needed tonight but your apparent argument is that if we had scored these "easy" chances we wouldn't even be talking about Harewood. Do you not realise why I am laughing at your comment? Fuck sake! I don't think he would've made a difference tonight because the reason we looked decent in the first half was because of the movement and options created by the space made up front - Harewood starting tonight would've been Sheff Weds all over again. Yes he may be more likely to finish a chance when one appears but his lack of movement could mean far fewer chances being created for the team. More generally, I'm unsure as to whether or not I'd re-sign him due to the four forwards all being fit now, and expect Ashleys preference would be not too due to the additional demand on the wage bill. I'd be more inclined to push for a Wilshere on loan than get Harewood back - as the need for some creation is greater than the need for a fifth forward imho.
  5. What did Pancrate do? Seriously, I can't remember anything of note - and I'm not taking the piss. Thought Colo was very good today but Enrique (and I'm one of his biggest fans) needs to have a look at his distribution - where he was calm and assured upto the last few weeks he's wasted a fair number of passes over the last 5 matches. That said, he's got nothing in the middle moving for him. It seems we've built the team around Nolan who doesn't actually move for the ball when the full backs are in possession therefore it always comes into Smith (as Nolan hovers in no mans land/looking for a gap) who is steady but not the best distributor - that's why we're crying out for a playmaker - we don't have one player in our entire squad who can receive the ball and work the channels with a variety of range. Nolan's an absolute luxury when he doesn't score (stupid statement I know) but this 'hovering' in space is actually his way of not keeping up with the play and hence being able to blow out of his arse due to his abysmal fitness levels. We're carrying him and he's not good enough for that.
  6. Why didn't Shola put a chance away then? He's our best striker isn't he? Maybe it's because we have a **** central midfield. Because we took Taylor off and they put more pressure on Gutierrez in the second half. There was no way Taylor should've been taken off - there was at least three dead ball kicks in dangerous areas that he would have delivered more effectively on than Jonas/Enrique. He doesn't bring much Taylor, but he can take a dead ball - ridiculous move bringing him off and leaving Simples on the pitch.
  7. I don't think he would've made much difference today other than we'd have had a whole lot less movement and probably looked as bad in the first half as we did in the second. No idea's, no door opener and fuck all movement.
  8. I thought the officials had decent games today tbh. Best Referee we've had in a while imho.
  9. They came for a draw and we didn't have the nous to break them down. Silly substitutions...............Pancrate is dogshit, Simpson is woeful in the oppositions half therefore Houghton rendered our right side fucking useless. Forget about January being about keeping the squad together - we need fresh faces if we're to up automatically. Also, all this 'Houghton having a great record since being made permanent' shite is just that, shite. He's been the Manager all season whether permanent or not and he needs to sort things out otherwise he'll be under pressure by February cos the fans don't have a huge amount of respect for him anyway.
  10. I would've taken Simpson off for Pancrate and moved Taylor to right back. Simpson offers nothing going forward and we need Taylors crossing ability.
  11. Cardiff look a decent bet at 3/1 tomorrow if you're after outsiders.
  12. That is fantastic news. Hope he continues to recover well.
  13. It is all relevant though as he maybe was not as good or consistent as others at that time but if he was playing now he would be our best attacking player easily. He was our best player back then tbh. he was, the stick some people gave him was unbelievable, some people would rather have a team of grafters than a team with skillful and flair players so what if he wouldn't defend, he should be the final 3rd as that where he was most dangerous the best winger this club has had since the 70's Better than Ginola? Not for me.
  14. That must be the most stupidest and ridiculous comment i have ever had the misfortune to read on here comparing nile ranger to PETER BEARDSLEY you truly are a grade A f***ing idiot Well I assume you are a grade F Stupid cause what I said is he is very good in small amount of space to do drible. Since Beardsly we havn't seen any one in this football club who can do that. If you see this as comparison you are a MORON. Dyer? Bellamy?

  17. If only Rosenborg were so good Tell me about it.
  18. I think we'll finish above West Brom. We've got a better squad and when we're taken over the feel good factor will be back with a vengeance, St James' will be a fortress again and smash everyone in our midst. There you have it. Stop worrying.
