I can’t see Joelinton getting a bigger club than us tbh. He’s fantastic but doesn’t have the technical quality to play for any of the clubs who could pay him more.

There are definitely deals to do in Europe and beyond for younger upcoming players. Not sure if we have the appetite for it this month or all the eggs are in the Philips basket.

In fairness our best transfer windows have come when we haven’t been in Europe. Not saying it will be the case this time but I don’t think it will stop us bringing in top quality.

I’m only referring to not spending 40 million on Phillips btw, I think we can bring someone else in worth the value.

But would you pay 40 million for Phillips ? Baring in mind he has hardly played and city themselves paid 42 million for him. Also got to remember we have already committed to paying 35 million for Hall. If we then where obligated to pay 40 for Phillips that’s 75 million gone from the summer budget.

Maybe a case of short term pain for long term gain regarding this window ?
