Yeah of course, im more saying when we don’t have that much to spend we need to spend it more wisely.

Defence may have been the wrong term, but no one can convince me the 40 odd million we spent on him wouldn’t have been better spent on a RW.

A midfielder was desperately needed, not sure it was Tonali costing 55 million mind. Aware a lot of hindsight in that, but when you are up against PSR it may have been more prudent to get a cheaper option.

I find the defence of it weird tbh. I think it’s clear it was the wrong signing given the needs of the team and our PSR issues.

If he wants European/champions league football, then Man Utd won’t have a sniff either.

If they have doubts over his long term future it would probably be unwise to back him. Look at Ten Hag this summer for reference.

Aye and that’s why we are at a big junction. Do we give him the big backing again and hope he can turn it around, or do we replace him and give the new guy the backing. Feels like a critical time.

I don’t think the players will ever stop playing for him, they have too much respect for him. I do think our better players may have lost belief in his tactics though. They certainly aren’t designed to get the best out of them.

Their away form is the worse than ours.

For anyone who still believes Howe can/will turn it around, what makes you confident in that ?
