Which player will want to be signed by a lame duck temporary coach? The only ones we can pick up are loans and out of contract players.
-
Clutching at straws here but could it be a case of Shearer returning next week and Barton has been told in no uncertain terms that AS still holds it against him so he stormed out of training
-
Give Thomo a break. Think he said he has shared all that he knows. I'm sure he will keep us posted now that he has started
-
If its a consortium, does this really matter? They can just pick one within the consortium with least scandals or prison offenses
-
Thanks for sharing the news, Thomo. No one here knows any better and we certaintly hope this is finally happening. Not to bothered if its DIC, IDC, CID or ABC as long as they have some long term plans and the dosh to back it up without interfering with the footie side of things too much
-
We are a sad lot . The slightest rumour and we get all excited. Hope Thomo is right as we can only take so much mucking around by MA. if the sale finally happens, let's look at this as a sign of blessing from Sir Bobby from above and with the feeling of goodwill generated by his passing, the new owners and manager will start off on the crest of a wave....
-
Movement of players out of club may be another sign something is imminent. All through the earlier rumours, no one was allowed to leave on loan, let alone being sold. May not be money bags Arabs taking over since they can easily afford Oba's wages unless this has been sanctioned by new manager in waiting.
-
Slightly off topic here....has Keegan been interviewed re Sir Bobby's passing?
-
We all wanted Shearer to learn his trade in the lower leagues and prove himself before taking on Newcastle in the Premiership. Well, circumstances have come together now and we can kill the two proverbial birds with one stone now. Shearer to prove to his doubters in the Championship and lead us back to the Premiership

Take your pick from Forbes 2008 List of Richest Malaysians...Take away the Top 5 and the rest are only average billionaires. Akin to Fat Ashley when he started. Some of their wealth may have also come down substantially with the crisis.... The top 40 richest in Malaysia for 2008 are: 1. Robert Kuok USD 10 billion, 84, married, 8 children. Kuok Group, Pacific Carriers Ltd, Transmile Group, Wilmar International 2. Ananda Krishnan USD 7.2 billion, 70, married, 3 children. Maxis Comminications, Aircel Ltd, Astro All Asia Networks 3. Which story did you email?

I know this is surreal and sad but follow up on earlier thread .... Subject: Re: Krishnan keen? Posted by mikeyboy on 13:47 06/Jul/09 : Deal's done if my son's friend is to be believed (he is only 9!). Told my son that 'they' (the Malaysian consortium headed by personnel from Astro) were the highest bidders and he is getting free tickets lol. Astro BTW is the Malaysian equivalent of Sky - although here they have a monopoly on satellite broadcasting till around 2016 (not sure of exact date) How would the son have been able to tell his Dad already? School's not out for another hour (?) and I refuse to believe this 9 year old owns a mobile. Remember this is suppose to be in Malaysia so its 7 hours ahead. Time of posting is 13:47 GMT = 2047 Malaysian time

Yanks or Malaysians, if its that Krishnan bloke then Malaysians. Asian businesses are generally in better shape than Yanks (lot more downside). So Malaysians for me too and hopefully some stability too

So one of Ananda's right hand men is a school child? Must be the secret to his business success. The Deputy Chairman of Astro is listed as a Mr Ralph Marshall (doesnt sound Malaysian but looks Malaysian) http://www.astroplc.com/05/corporate/board_directors/ RALPH MARSHALL Executive Deputy Chairman Malaysian, age 57, joined the Board in July 2003 and was appointed its Deputy Chairman and its Group Chief Executive Officer in August and September 2003 respectively. He has served as a Director of MEASAT Broadcast Network Systems Sdn Bhd since 1994 prior to the commencement of the operations of the Group and was its Chief Executive Officer until May 2006. Ralph is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has some 30 years experience in financial and general management. He is also Executive Director of Tanjong Public Ltd Company (listed on Bursa Securities and the London Stock Exchange) which is involved in power generation, gaming and leisure; Non- Executive Director of Maxis Communications Bhd (listed on Bursa Securities), a leading mobile communications provider in Malaysia; and Executive Director of Usaha Tegas Sdn Bhd, which has significant interests in the aforesaid companies. His other directorships include MEASAT Global Bhd (listed on Bursa Securities), which is the owner and operator of the MEASAT satellite system; KLCC Property Holdings Bhd (listed on Bursa Securities), a property investment holding company and Arnhold Holdings Ltd (listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong), which is involved in supplying products for the building and construction industry. He does not have any business arrangement with the Company in which he has a personal interest. So if that ITK is right, Ralph was in UK last week and hopefully the ITK's son will be able to get some info from Ralph's lad...

Quoted from another forum .... Subject: Re: Krishnan keen? Posted by mikeyboy on 03:05 06/Jul/09 : My son is in the same class at school as one of Ananda's right hand men (he is deputy chairman for Astro) so I have told him to ask him some questions today at school lol! I do know for sure that he was in the UK last week though....

Why would a billionaire with multiple other top real business concerns respond to reports of this nature. He has been noted to be reclusive and he will likely stay in the background and appoint a representative/s as this investment is not substantial in his books.

For all that “big matey” with Phil stuff, isn’t Fergie big mates with SBR too? I know they have a deep respect for each other and given the state of SBR’s health, I’m sure Fergie wouldn’t field a weak team against Hull as relegation for us may just be the last straw that breaks SBR's back and surely Fergie will not want Sir Bobby to suffer the pain of relegation in his final years. I’m confident the good ole British sense of fair play will prevail and all clubs will play to the best of their abilities. We have left ourselves in this precarious position and its really a bonus we still have a “Get Out of Jail” card due to the ineptness of Makems & Hull. So may the best team win and Que Sera Sera …..

You may as well blame the day you supported Newcastle.

We're not out of the woods yet and our survival is paramount. I don't really give a s**t who goes down. We must not take our foot off the pedal as the Fat Lady has not started her singing yet ...
-
Hopefully the fans can be patient and don't pass their frustration over to the players should the the early play go against us.

Shearer seems to be counting on Barton to be everything that Butt isn't. But having been off football for past 3 months. is it too much to expect Barton to lift a struggling team single handedly? http://www.journallive.co.uk/newcastle-sports/newcastle-sports-news/2009/04/21/shearer-hopes-for-barton-boost-84229-23437654/

Yes, with John Barnes as manager (also badly) John Barnes was BAD. Period. Whereas KD had actually won trophies with his other clubs. Unfortunately we were the only club he managed that ended up without any trophy. Typical Don't think you can blame DoF if the manager is sh**e. He is only there for support / advice.
