Might be the first meeting in a while that all of them will be at together (Wise, Jimenez, Vetere, Keegan and Ashley). Seems Vetere and Jimenez have been scouting players and obviously KK has been busy with the first-team. The meeting will probably be about transfers ie. Vetere, Jimenez and Wise discuss potential purchases with Keegan and finalise the choices (eg. Saviola first choice, Derdiyok second choice etc.) and then transfer team go off and have 4 days to complete the deals. Do you really think we can sign players we want in just 4 days when we had a whole summer. Granted that many deals are only possible when clubs sign replacements etc but it really brings to mind the old cliche ....work expands to fill time available .....

If they are really serious about potential signings, why couldn't they have met earlier like 2 weeks or more ago. Why leave it till last Wed before window close. Unless the new signings are already done and dusted and just waiting for the WOW signing

We're not the only ones that emphasize greatly on fitness. No surprise that brawny teams with limited talent coached by Megson will have to depend greatly on outrunning the opponents . http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/bolton/article4493273.ece

Why so?

Another great video on Youtube with Spider Theme song as background music by Abertoon *Because we don't allow Youtube clips on here. Brand new rule.*

Did Basedas (sp?) aka the Steering Wheel ever get a game for the Argetina National side?
-
I'm sure he is doing all his can. After all, if deal falls thru, so does his commission

That's a name from the past. Frankly can't remember much of Malcolm Allen. Did see him once when I was at the old Maidencastle training ground circa Sep 1995. He cut a sad figure doing laps himself whilst the rest were out training.

Not giving a s*** after getting sent-off away to Arsenal and then going in the huff when Keegan doesn't allow him to go to Barca? That will probably come later....during the cold wintry months. But let's enjoy the Aimar summer months first....

Hope Aimar is to us now what Ginola was to the Entertainers generation

So basically there is not enough hard cash flowing within the football transfer system then until some club/some one pumps in hard cash to kick start the transfers !!!!!!!!

http://www.sunderlandecho.com/nufc/Keegan-We39ll-be-the-fittest.4270876.jp Kevin Keegan will put his players through a punishing pre-season in a bid to make Newcastle United the fittest team in the Premier League. Keegan's squad are being given gruelling double sessions this week, their first back at the club after the summer break. While the 57-year-old looks like going into the new campaign with one of the smallest squads in the top-flight, he is determined they will be in the best shape. And his players were given a rude awakening on Monday when they reported back, with his staff – including new fitness specialist Mark Hulse – putting them through two tough sessions, setting the tone for the build up to the first pre-season friendly. Newcastle are away to Hartlepool on July 19, giving Keegan and his staff two full weeks to prepare the squad for action. Hulse – who left Crystal Palace last season, and has also worked with England's youth teams – is working with fitness coach Adrian Lamb to boost the fitness of Keegan's men. Keegan had just 14 senior players report to the club's Benton HQ for the start of pre-season. Abdoulaye Faye and Geremi have been allowed extended leave after playing through the summer for Senegal and Cameroon, while Joey Barton is waiting on his release from prison. Mark Viduka is not expected to be ready to start training for several weeks after a summer operation on his Achilles, while David Edgar (groin), Andy Carroll (heel), Wesley Ngo Baheng (knee) and Tama Kadar (knee) are all in the treatment room. New signing Jonas Gutierrez, meanwhile, will not join up with his United team-mates until later in the month, having also been given a longer break, having played for Argentina last month.

No new faces in yet. Don't see why the old lot won't get along well
-
Hopefully he takes a long time to adapt and fails miserably in his first season with Chelski. We can then nip in and sign him for a reasonable price next season and he goes on to lift the FA Cup with us after he gets adjusted to the Premiership
-
He may be a big fish in the Reading pond but he will be amongst whales in SJP.... Not that I want him here anyway....
-
Can anyone remember what did Gerry Armstrong say about the other Spanish signings...Luque + Marcellino (ouch)
-
horses for courses...hopefully we can switch it around a bit next season and not be too hung up on formations. Modern football is fluid and players have to be up to the task of changing as the game progresses

Since Keegan commented on the transfer, at least he approved it....if it was not his recommendation in the first place. Let's just enjoy incoming transfers and worry about these stuff later I hope it wasn't his recommendation, that means that the system is working and more importantly they are agreeing with each other and working together. Things working well at Newcastle? Come on....

Why meet in Dubai and not the usual chippies somewhere in North East England

Probably had a late night and wanted to hide his panda eyes. Still living his Casino lifestyle

Yup. he could have been Rob Lee Mark II in this new Keegan era

King Kev has always been one that dared to dream. But with age and experience, it has added a touch of reality and maturity to his dreams. This can only augur well for us next season and beyond as has been seen by the recent displays and interviews
