Probably, but if it's a choice between Simpson and bringing Beye back....... Totally agree. Sure there are better options out there but if it was a straight choice between the 2 I'd go for Beye. Bringing Beye back will simply destroy team morale. He wanted out when the going got tough and he deserves whatever he position he is in now. The main difference between this season and last season's team is Team Morale and we will be depending on this to pull us through especially if we have limited transfer funds, which is looking very likely.

Going back to the original thread....what would I do if I were MA? I'll put the club up for sale and leave this football thingy for good. I had my day in the sun and with Toon back to Premier league, I should be able to get a reasonable price. No more headache and fans' distaste and anger. Who cares who the next owner wants to appoint as manager or buy or sell which players.

Doesn't sound like it. There is still the whole of 2nd half to win the game for C**** sake

Text of Davies' interview from .com "I'd like to congratulate Chris, his staff and players and everybody at this football club. I'd like to wish them all the very best in their challenge in the Premier League. "All season they've been very resilient - they've showed a lot of good experience and they've done very well and obviously we would like to congratulate them. There's no doubt they have been very worthy winners in my opinion. "That doesn't mean I'm giving up on promotion because I think with six games left we are still in a real fight for second place with West Brom. "But I firmly believe Newcastle will finish the job. They have the players, the experience, the momentum and the infrastructure in place. "They know how to win when they are not at their best. My young players haven't got the experience and the know-how to do that yet - but we are still in there fighting."

Taylor, easily. Has proven he is a decent Premier league level defender. Taylor is decent Premier league level defender so rather will sell him than Carroll. Andy has potential to be good premier league striker. Agree. Taylor's absence has not really been felt with the others stepping up. And its always easier to buy a decent replacement for Taylor whilst good strikers are not cheap and Carroll's type are rarer.

Wayne Fereday was a legend in his own lifetime
-
Nah. That's too obvious. Prefer the "cloak and dagger", "under the radar" and all that sort of transfers
-
with their salaries, one would have thought they can afford better security or even personal bodyguards. Of course if whole family is threatened, then its a different case....

Wasn't he on Shearer's shopping list as well?
-
Wonder what's their transfer budget ? Free agents and cheap loans market, nothing at all to get excited about for their fans. With their recent record of not paying staff and players, who in the right mind will join them even on loan?
-
Wonder what's their transfer budget ?

If we make him an offer, it make just make him think seriously. He is not the type after big money and for an emotional fella, he may want to end his days on a high playing for fans who adore (not all) him. But with his history of injuries and the budget that MA works with, it is unlikely this will ever happen ....

From ManC forum .... " I agree Hughes showed him no loyalty and Dunne should never have been shipped out and should have just been dropped to the bench instead for situations like we have come into now. The irony of the Dunne situation is hilarious. Hughes fucked Dunne over then Hughes got fucked over. Well what's comes around..."

Always happy to see other clubs in a bit of turmoil and the more of them implode the better. At least we don't feel alone anymore. Unfortunately, most clubs have some form of structure in place and any change in managers will simply be eased over once a few points or a trophy is in the bag. Footie fans have short memories anyway....

Don't speak too soon. MA is still around ....

If Watford folds this season, will the games they have played be declared null and void ?
-
Tried doing a search on You Tube for videos of Fabrice and only ended up with "concrete" videos. Not a good sign or do You Tube folks know something we dont? Moves like cement
-
Now that the c**t has stop the sale, doesn't seem likely he will sanction too many sales that will weaken the chances of promotion. Surely even a dumb f**k like him will realise that promotion will mean a lot more dosh than flogging off some key players during a crucial period
-
I didn't get to watch the game, who did him in?

Couldn't happened to a nicer guy http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/09/10/20/SOCCER_Sunderland_Snap.html

Keegan. He's the only top manager who will come now. He may not be a Wenger or Fergie but seriously, even when we were doing well, we could not attract managers of their stature, what more now.
-
Heart says "I luv the Keegan years and would welcome him back". Head says "Maybe its best to move on as we will be forever trapped in KK era" johnnypd does have a very good point that in our state right now, not many proper managers will take us on right now. So we will be left with iffy choices. This being the case, I rather we have KK back till we are have stabilized ourselves and buy us some time.
-
This is our chance to get back at WBS's 5-0 win against the Smogs and do our Goal Difference a world of good not to mention our confidence.
-
Surprised Keegan wasn't in attendance. Although they may have had some misunderstanding the way KK was dropped from SBR's first England squad, surely all that would have been buried in the past. All other living England Managers except Keegan turned up. Strange
