I've looked it up. Only 3 teams have survived from having only 2 points after 8 games in the Premier League. Those 3 teams are Southampton, Spurs, and them. I'm pretty sure when they played most of the top 6 in their opening games. Also at this stage last season Aston Villa had double the points they have now. They've certainly not had a tough start to the season, very winnable games in the games they've played so far. They are a poor team on paper, they've got injuries, their manager is clearly struggling to get his message (whatever that is) over, it's not looking good however they are only 4 pts from safety and there are a fair few awful teams this season, they'll sack Moyes and bring in someone to save them no doubt, it's like clockwork. They usually start looking a little more interest in November and come the new year they are in full recovery shooting for 17th.

Be either him or Hodgson, either will rescue them unfortunately, this year they are fortunate the three promoted side are extremely weak, think it'll be a 4 horse race for the 3 spots and you know the mackems will find a way to win that, they always do.17946
  3. I think the table is a bit misleading right now, if you look at who we have played. We've played all bar Brum in the top 9, while only played 3 teams in the bottom 9. Where as Norwich each week seem to have an easy game (except when they played us of course), they've done very well, but I think they've been helped massively with the fixture list. I think we are a class above everyone in the division, there will be times we don't get a result but that will be largely down to our own failing rather than being beaten by a team with more quality.

Surprisingly positive and upbeat here, someone must have had a word with him or he's trying another trick in his "Dummies Guide to PL management". They had one shot on target the whole game but if you listen to this he makes it sound like they've improved and were just unlucky today. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37669256
  5. Excellent, just need Rotherham to get two in injury time now

You got to think after this result, he's not got much time left. Wouldn't be surprised if the trigger was pulled before their next game.
  7. Brighton a bit of concern, coming back from 1 down against Preston, point behind us.
  8. When do Norwich get their tough fixtures, seems like they are always playing someone at the bottom of the table ?
  9. Sounds like a slow start, not sure why he thinks Perez and Gayle will worked, it was awful first game of the season.
  10. Oh ffs this is the one thing that's pissing me off about Rafa at the moment. What use is that extra man in midfield if he's performing to the level diame has this season. We are at home to Brentford (not the worst team in the world but certainly not one to have to worry too much about them dominating the middle of the park) we should be able to play with 2 strikers. The last time we played with two it did not work out too bad with a 6-0 win. Can see a frustrating game where we dominate possession yet fail to take our chances and give away something against the run of play. Hope I'm wrong but playing Diame again pisses me off, he's done nothing to deserve his place in the team.
  11. Having looked at all the evidence available, it's clear this is the right verdict, he should never have been found guilty in the first place. Having said that, what the hell was he thinking with his actions, amazed his girlfriend stood by him. He'll always be tarnished with this, despite the verdict, there will always be some who won't fully accept it.

Are they ? The Stoke fans I've spoken have said otherwise. Typical Hughes start to a season, it's always slow, usually picks up the point they got at Manure may be the kick start they need.

LOL, a must win ? Or must not lose ?

    Steve McClaren

Yet our brain trust decided to give him the top job and even a place on the board !! Funny how folks on here knew when we were first linked with him that this would be a bad appointment (although I think not many thought it would turn out as bad as it did) and we are just a bunch of spotty no life teens !! While the so called experts, people who make a living from this sport couldn't see that and thought he was the man to bring the good times back to our club. I remember when Pardew left, Mark Douglas, probably one of the better ones at Thompson House, was telling us all how McClaren was the man we should be going after, now of course he's the first to tell us how terrible appointment he was.

It's crazy isn't it. The only piece of logic I can find that makes any sense of this is, they seem to feel that us trying to tap him up cost them promotion, if were weren't after him they would have at very least made the playoffs that year, since they were beaten playoff finalist the previous year that would not have been a bad record. There maybe some truth in that, but to me, if I were them I wouldn't have touched him with a barge pole, that's not just based on the absolutely mess he made with us but he's going to have to win back a set of players (many of whom will still be there) that had clearly given up on him and a fan base that will be skeptical to say the least.
  16. He just made the playoffs with probably a better equipped Hull side in a weaker division last season. I'm still to be convinced he'll be the silver bullet to get them up this season, they've got a lot of work to do to make the playoff, I don't think they have a chance in hell of making automatic.
  17. First page of this thread is fucking hideous, what's wrong with you people ??

I still think if you give Moyes time, he'll get you out of this perpetual purgatory, that's why I'm hoping your owner stays true to form Having said that the august announcement of your forthcoming relegation battle and the curious summer transfer work he presided over may cast doubts over my faith in his abilities.
