  1. He's still booting it long in most situations, really need him replaced not just from a defensive POV but also from our gameplan in getting on the ball more.
  2. Even in pre-season still don't see the point in Gouffran.
  3. We're on the TV. OMG, fucking hell sit down you're embarrassing yourselves !!
  4. this is where we tell ourselves: pre-season counts for nothing mclaren has had hardly any time it'll take ages to reverse the pardew effect new signings will change everything and so on... october 15th: Some of that is very true, it really is not the time to panic yet.
  5. I'm not sure what you are all seeing, yes he's had a few good touches, but he's also given the ball away a lot too. He's pretty slow in movement. Having said all that, this is no game to judge him on, the opposition is not world class and he like the rest of the squad are in the early stages of their fitness program. t's nice to see him get some game time and their has been signs of class their for sure, just not the scintillating performance you lot are making out from him.
  6. There's no way their lot won't be knackered second half. Absolutely and some opf their passing has been woeful, they've given the ball away so cheaply often in that half. They are actually pretty darn average.
  7. It's pre-season, so I am not worried at all about this. Atlas are clearly up for it , pressing so high up the pitch and movement of the ball is very good, they are clearly well ahead in match sharpness. They are not as good as some of you lot are making out, they are just more motivated and further on in their match prep. Not to say though that we don't have issue especially at the back.
  8. This is just a crazy close season, you would think we had won the league last year because of our off season activity.
  9. Can we add the words fuck and off to the front of this thread ?
  10. Must be approaching a year since we signed anyone. It's exciting times being an NUFC fan.

A manager sacked from a Championship club who failed at his last four jobs, a promising young assistant manager and a few of the managers' buddies from his previous club on top of absolutely no investment in new players and a multitude of uninspiring reported targets? I understand that after setting the bar at below zero (Carver, near relegation) any change no matter how small will feel like an improvement but dear me, they have a hell of a lot of proving to do before I get back on the happy clappers band wagon. Absolutely
  12. Bloody hell, when is something going happen, this is boring as hell.
  13. There is no one I would trust more than unbelievable on players from the dutch league, if he has reservations then the wise thing to do is listen to him.

Kind of fits with the off season so far, well even the whole of 2015 really.

That's why I'm posting a little less now. Obviously a lot on here and within the fan base want to get on board with this appointment or at least make do, perhaps hope that it's the signal for a new dawn. I sincerely hope they are right and their hopes are not misplaced. I just don't sense that it is though. I've said my piece on the appointment, it s*** when someone constantly posts negativity on a subject that are if not positive about at least accepting of, so will leave it at that for now. Like I said hopefully this guy will prove the cynics like myself wrong and goes down with Harvey, KK and Sir Bob as a manager we can be proud of. On a side not sad that we have so few, I would only add Arthur Cox and Ossie to that list as managers I've actually liked and apart from one promotion neither were particularly successful, especially Ossie.

Stuff like this in the beeb, in their Carver sacked story show what an embarrassment we are going for this bloke: "McClaren was twice approached by Newcastle towards the end of the season but preferred to stay at Derby. He was then sacked when the Rams failed to reach the Championship play-offs." http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/33067889 The person that typed this didn't need to mention McLaren turning us down twice, it has no context with the Carver story at all, but he did just to get a few laughs at us I'm sure.

It's likely this was more to do with the club releasing him than McLaren, since he isn't even in the job yet. The players have clearly stagnated under his coaching, his ability to take us from 10th to needing to win our last game of the season just to stay up, the embarrassing press conferences, altercations with fans and I think the cherry on the top for the club was bringing them back into a bad light in the way he told Jonas he was finished by telling Raylor to pass the phone to him. McLaren like any other manager/head coach would have asked to pick his own staff for sure, but I'm pretty sure he's not gone "You better get rid of that plank Carver, he's useless or I'm not taking the job". Lets not be too quick to praise a job well done for something he's probably not had a lot to do with.

    John Carver

Apparently some fans think Carver performed a miracle by keeping us in the PL, WTf !!! http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/john-carver-newcastle-united-fans-9420563

    John Carver

They are begging for people to show him some sympathy on the Chronicle: Is there anybody with at least some sympathy for Carver? He clearly didn't have what it took in my opinion to lead the team - as was proven - but as a coach? One thing you can't discredit him for is his passion for the club. Personally I think that came out before and after every game. Any sympathy at all for Carver? Let us know tweet me @ChronicleNUFC or @craig_johns. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/john-carver-steve-stone-leave-9420228

My anger at the appointment has subsided now, all I'm left with though is apathy.

Sad, sad place this, more and more coming round to the appointment. This is why we have such an apathetic fan base who refuse to get off their arse and effect change. Accepting this at best mediocre appointment, just says you are happy with Ashley's blueprint of mediocrity and collecting that TV money, this guy's not going to win us anything, change drastically the way we play, excite the fan base or bring back thejoy that it can be following this football club. But you all accept it because lets face it, it's the best that we have the right to hope for and at least it's not Carver.

I can't wait for him to say "I resign" and he can say it in any lingo he likes. This
