Not positive from George with regards to anyone else coming in. Not bringing in players for the sake of brining in players haslead to our weak squad this season, and will be an absolute disaster of a policy if we don't replace Ba and bring in a CB of decent caliber not to mention potentially replacing Colo.

Absolutely spot on. I used to be a little laid back about these mega rich owners coming in a just changing the landscape of the club they picked up as their play toy. But the last few years have change my mind on it. There really needs to be something done beyond the uefa financial fair play nonsense to level the playing field. I've been against a salary cap for various reasons, but I think we should put that on the table again, and I think the PL is strong enough to implement it unilaterally. The league will lose quality players for sure but, the competition will be better for it and the clubs much more stable. A small change like scraping the loan systems (or hugely modifying it) will stop clubs like Chelsea buying players like Lukaku and just loaning them out until they are ready. Unfortunately though nothing will change with the game and we'll continue to see the gap between the haves and have nots widen.

Doubt it, just like a Greggs Mince Pie. Yeah once the players gets through a medical it's pretty much a done deal.

What I read said he was just got off the plane in London. We probably picked up his air fare too no doubt

I'm clinging to the hope that this is just another Jeffers/Bellers or Zenden/Robert scenario, I wasn't exactly flipping summersaults when I heard we had agreed a fee, I would worry about his current form. In many respects he doesn't fill the need QPR have right now, which is for a goalscorer, he's hardly been prolific and is out of form but they need an immediate return on their investment. For us though we already have a goalscorer, we just needed someone to complement him, a far easier task. The psychological effect though on us though is pretty bad, it sends out a negative message that we can't compete with the likes of QP fucking R to the fans and players, the bottom club in the league. The French contingent we have will take note of that for sure. It's a bad piece of business from our point of view, not because we are not getting the player more the picture it paints.

There is the option for Colo that he can just retire or quit, obviously in this case we would still hold onto to his registration so he couldn't play for another club. If he's that set on leaving he might do that. You're right though way too much at stake for us to just cancel the contract and let him go.
-
There you go then, move him to the able to entice category then. See Sven and Strachan just got new gigs too, so there's two more. I forgot Shearer on that list, but hardly likely after his last attempt. Does anyone have a realistic and good replacement in mind ?

Your bird must be rougher than Mrs Bimpy. LOL, she's pregnant so always fast asleep by the time I get into bed.

Lying in bed last night, I imagined a world where we had sacked Pards and were looking for a new manager. Dear me that world looked bleak, not saying that's an excuse to keep pardew because if we don't get 6 points from the next 2 games, I think we are as good as down with him in charge. But who's out there looking for a job, who could we entice from a "smaller" club, bloody hell it's bad. Not sure if a 4 month relegation fight is a good environment for someone new to the the Britain to come into so I've restricted this list to purely British experienced managers: Out of Work: Mark Hughes, Curbs, Dennis Wise (lol), Graeme Souness (double lol), Mick McMackem (triple lol), Owen Coyle Able to entice: Gus Poyet, Steve McLaren, Steve Bruce (everlasting lol), I honestly don't see anyone else Possibly entice: Michael Laudrup (half a season only, but could be a good one), Neil Lennon (bit of a jumpy jack, not popular around these parts, debatable ability and why would he leave Celtic), Martinez (Ashley's mate there would never let him leave for us, not sure enough time for him to implant his way of playing, could get his own team relegated and one of the few teams that look worse than us). I'm sure I've missed a few, feel free to add your hopes for who will replace him. In the end we may just need anyone, much like Roeder when Souness was working his magic, was able to turn our talented team around but it's pretty bleak out there.

Just heard this, wow didn't see that coming, well actually not that surprising. Wonder if we paid for his flight to London, lol.
-
Yep that's pretty much how it will go IMO

On current form not sure I would expect us to get anything against the mackems and Reading and Southampton both winning today doesn't bode well in the confidence stakes. Don't see us beating reading at all right now. To be honest I'm a pessimistic bastard but I would be more surprised if we got out of it this year than managed to survive.

Fail to win next game, crowd surely has to talk turn on him.
-
thought it was funny when the commentator said "with Simpson out with a broken toe, Debuchy gets the start and has the opportunity to make the right back spot his own.".
-
Bad day for other results, just villa losing helps. Draw not enough for me here.
-
So no point in me watching my pvr of this game when I get home ?

WTF, how long have you be following NUFC ? Where do these ridiculous Expectations come from ? Have you read this forum for the last few years prior to relegation, there was no expectations beyond what was reasonable for a club of our size, the supporters didn't demand anything we just expected to compete. Then when we were relegated and came back up it was always at the same level of expectation, top half of the table, which is far from "Ridiculous" as you put it. Having seen some of your posts (first time I've seen your user name by the way) I do wonder how long you've actually followed the club or if indeed you do and you've gotten your views for the national press. If you had followed us for a while you would understand the pessimism and the lack of faith is a by product of history of the club and current board's actions over the years.

What They said they were doing all they can at the time, then admitted later they didn't do enough, so they were obviously lying to begin with ? Or is that too much logic for ya ?
-
How many times are we told during these windows, that the club is doing all it can, working 24/7, leaving no stone unturned and all that bullshit. Funny though that Pardew admitted then that they should have done a little more in the summer to bulk up the squad. Absolutely fucking sick of these words, prove it by doing something.
-
I kinda get where you're coming from but several thousand posts demanding/requesting/hoping for a new centre half and striker probably contradict that. I hear ya, but tbh not wanting to blow our own trumpet on here but we are the more sensible supporters by in large, it's the rank and file those sky sports news fools they interview that I worry about.
-
I worry that people will assume that he is the silver bullet for us and be disappointed that a right back can't turn our season fully around. It'll need more than him to get us out of this shit we are in.
-
It really doesn´t help that he every single week, pre- and post matches, talk about getting back injured players.. Exactly, it's like saying to the players he's picking in place of his "better players" that they are crap but we have to put them out there, further damaging their confidence.
-
Spot on, on paper we should be fine, even with the injuries we have, picking up 7 to 9 points from these next 3 games on paper should be no problem, however Pardew has taken us to a place where that scenario seems highly far fetched and getting one win and two losses is the most likely outcome.
