    Alan Pardew

Silence is deafening from SJP today, don't expect anything from the Owner and his side kick but Pardew usually does a bit of yapping. I wonder if something is up.

    Our local press

To be fair Ryder's been critical of the club, at last, in this article, pretty decent piece, I have to say: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/09/01/comment-lee-ryder-s-take-on-deadline-day-disappointment-for-nufc-72703-29342360/
  3. I've been critical of Ashley for a long time but I have always been prepared to be open to the guy changing my mind and actually showing that he understands a little about how to be successful in this game. After this window though, that's changed. There was money sitting in the bank waiting to be spent, we were told it would be reinvested, there was a glaring need for a striker who could put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis. But the money stayed in the bank and all we got all summer were players brought in to fills holes in the squad left by further player sales. It's just not good enough for a club of our size, stature, history and fanbase to accept that we can not seem to outspend the likes of Fulham, Wolves, Stoke and bloody QPR, it really isn't. A lot on here mock the Liverpool fans for being devine righters and their attitude sometimes is a little grating, but they've got the right idea, they won't settle for mediocre, like a lot of our fans are happy to do, if they don't like it they do their best to force change, and look at them now. The concern for me is that things are just going to get worse with the club under the current ownership, the lack of investment on the field is already resulting in a worrying drop off in attendances, 10k empty seats is bloody frightening for a club whose big calling has always been it's passionate supporters. That passion is dwindling, apathy is sinking in, make no mistake about that. And with that revenues begin to fall further, since we have to "wipe our own nose" as Ashley puts it, then investment goes even further down and sales of star players becomes more important. This thing can only get worse with these clueless c***s in charge of this club, we need a change in ownership and we need it fast.
  4. They can finish anywhere between 7th and 15th, but that's not because it's a strong squad, it's because the league is filled with a lot of crap this year. Does that excuse the lack of investment, abso fucking lutely not, this was a real opportunity to kick on, it's been missed completely.

    Bryan Ruiz

The sad thing is we don't seem to be able to compete with the likes of Fulham and Stoke (not their signings who are to a man a load a crap but the amount they are prepared to spend) in the transfer market. This will sound arrogant to none NUFC fans, but with our following and history we should expect to better than those teams in the transfer windows, regardless of the fact that we had 35 million in our warchest.
  6. I was completely certain we would net spend somewhere between 20-35 million. Fuck I feel like a fool.
  7. How can you rate the transfer window a 6,5 when our squad is arguably weaker than it was a year ago and we have made a huge profit on transfers in that period? Because I think we've replaced Enrique with quality, replaced Nolan & Barton with quality, signed a striker but could have done with another, and signed people like Obertan to beafen up the numbers. Nowhere near the doom and gloom you'd think people would make out. Ah honestly f*** this s***. Don't enjoy this forum anymore. Bunch of depressing bastards. f*** off. I don't really understand why not? If you believe in what we are doing then you should have no problem explaining why. I never believed in signing Kevin Nolan even when he was a hero here but I believed in what I said and so had no problem with arguing my case. I believe we do some things right, and I try to argue my point as well as possible. But it does seem totally pointless sometimes, and I'm being made to feel like some sort of imbecile or not a proper fan for putting my point of view. I can understand what Nut is saying, I'm close to not bothering coming on here anymore. No offence to anyone personally, there's just enough reasonable chat to keep me going, but I know the feeling. Ian man, you get grief because you dont say reasons of annoyance without explaining why you potentially understand whats happened or listing off all the other positives of the situation. Most people react to the singular event, having accepted all the previous positives that have been before it. Its ok to just feel annoyed about something without balancing that out constantly, its only temporary & quite normal. Wow, someone's getting good use out of their "Psychology for Dummies" library rental.
  8. The clinging on to the hope that all things will be right when HBA is fit, is dangerous in the extreme, we've had the lad for a year now and he's played what 5 games for us, every time he's got the ball we are gonna be terrified he'll get clobbered again and be out. We simply can't rely upon him right now, until he's proven his fitness.
  9. Standing still seems to be good enough for most people here, lets hope no one else moved forward and that those unproven PL players can replace the likes of Enrique, Nolan and Barton.
  10. A lot more pressure just heaped on this guy now, because of the failure to bring in another striker
  11. How can you rate the transfer window a 6,5 when our squad is arguably weaker than it was a year ago and we have made a huge profit on transfers in that period? I totally agree, don't understand what some of these people are thinking with any rating above a 3 tbh.
  12. I rated it a 1 - The good deals that we did do, Santon, Cabaye and Marveaux, have been negated by the losing 3 of our best players from last season and the failure to improve our strike force. Ba just isn't enough, ffs the guy can't even get in our starting 11 atm. Considering the money that should have been available, nothing other than an abject failure of a transfer window for me. We've at best stood still, fortunately for us, there's a lot of dross in this league this year otherwise a season of struggle would surely be on the cards.
  13. No way would he just make that comment up, he's been fed it by someone in the know. I doubt very much it's misinformation.
  14. Absolutely scandalous that we've not got another striker in, they really don't have a f***ing clue how to work transfer deadline day do they. There's been some good pieces of buisness from the club in the window, Santon, Marveaux and Cabaye in particular excite me and were bought for a bargain price but all in all it's not been enough. Not enough for a team wanting to push on this season, not enough for a team whose sold 4 of it's best players over the last 8 months, not enough for a team who've made a 35 million profit on transfers over that period. I guess we'll wait to see whjat crap Pardew feeds uus, because those bastards upstairs won't feel the need to talk to the common folk. It'll be interesting to see just how many fans turn up to the next home game, bet it's lower than the fulham game even.

Why would he sign for Twente, he already plays for them

Someone on twitter saying Twente chairman has said Ruiz has joined Fulham
  17. X-factor? The Confused.com commercial. Not getting that one. My favourite commericial currently is on NFL network all the bloody time, for dateblacksingles.com or something like that, it always makes me think if someone tried to do the same for white people what the reaction would be.
  18. We did sign a striker. His name is Demba Ba. That'll be the line we are fed when the dust settles for sure, we'll be told that saying we haven't replaced Carroll is wrong, his replacement was signed early on in the window.
  19. As bad as Roeder's Sib/Rossi loan deadline day ? I think it's worse, if all we get in Liam fucking Ridgewell.
  20. BBC radio 5 live senior football reporter Ian Dennis on Twitter: "I'm expecting Bryan Ruiz to reject Newcastle offer and sign for Fulham."
  21. The new James Perch? Maybe not that bad, but I hope he doesn't turn into a Lovenkrands type that just hangs around and takes starts of genuine prospects.
  22. I'm not struck on Ridgewell at all, even for squad depth
  23. There's a pic of Ruiz on NUFC.COM, the man has a huge neck and tiny head, it's quite perculiar.
  24. What's all this about, Johson who ?
