Playing in front of all those passionate villa park fans. IF and it's a big IF that comes of it'll be way too good a midfield for that shite club, they've already got a Manager who is way too good for them. VIlla is such a nothing club, and your presence on our board only magnifies this for me. And BTW, I thought this was a Realistic Transfers for NUFC, why aren't all those people who complain about MJ and KD posting, complaining about this guy Seems a bit like double standards if you ask me.
-
That sounds like a good idea to me. How about it Shiteam, you get what you want, the frest of the forum (with the expection of one or two others) get what they want ?
-
Hehe, I wouldn't get too excited Shiteam, he's of the quality of poster of yourself or Harry-Norway.
-
Didn't you tell someone off, for personal insults against this guy a few weeks backs ? When I pointed out that, considering who it was, it was understandable, you said it wasn't ! Talk about double standards

Because if he did right now, he would hurt his future job plans. Would you admit on your CV that you weren't good enough ? Something about him learning from his experience here would probably be a good thing in many employers' minds IMO. Not saying he should admit to not being good enough. He he went out and said he was to blame for the problems but he's learn't from that and it won't happen again, he would have about as much chance as I do of getting another job. If I were him, I would be blaming circumstances also, until I landed a job a big as Newcastle. The likes of Sounness, Allardyce, Roeder and Guillet all still want to manage top teams, if they admit that the problems they had at Newcastle were their own fault no other big club will take a chance on them. That's why you always see these ridiculous statements, take them with the pinch of salt they deserve. Again, I'm not saying he should explicitly admit he was to blame for everything that went wrong. Something along the lines of 'things didn't go quite as I'd planned at Newcastle for various reasons, but that experience only makes me want to do better next time' would be much easier to stomach that his 'I'm brilliant, f*** all to do with me like' s***. Dave, give it up, you lost this one. You win some you loose some, just move along ;P Seriously though, that's just not in Sam's nature, one of his percieved qualities is his overriding self confedence which borders on the arrogant tbh. It would be like Samson getting a short back and sides for BS to admit he screwed up to any degree.

LOL, refresh my memory of the details of that incident again.

So far there has been nothing but rumours from Turkish language fan sites. If he signs, it is purely the work of this thread and I say we start one about Kaka ASAP. Apart from the Galatasary president talking about it, you're right I suppose. And it's got to 62 pages !! Could you imagine what will happen once or if he acutally starts talking to clubs, let alone signs for one.

He seemed to be able to cross alright at Villa the other year, for some reason. Yes, he did. I'd like to see him back - and if you took a poll of Villa fans, 90 percent would agree with me - to see if John Robertson could make him an even better crosser. How much do you reckon he is worth/would you be willing to pay? 5m or so. Liverpool have got a problem with the value of English midfielders at the moment, so they'll probably offer you a couple of players from the Merseyside Paper Boys XI and some scratchcards for him. You're having a laugh aren't you, in today's market he's worth anywhere between 7mill and 10mill, especially considering the length of contract he is on. 5 Mill will buy you a Michael Chopra at best, if that's all you think Villa will pay, then I would back that he won't be playing there next season. And Liverpool, don't seem to have too many issues paying a good wedge for English players. They paid 7 Million For crouch a few years back when the market was no where near as in flated, and also 6million for Pennant. Offering 12 - 15 million or whatever it is for Barry, is a good offer. What about the three teenagers they offered you for Milner, was that a good offer? Liverpool have issues spending money this summer because, other than that raised by the Alonso sale, they haven't got any. What they paid for Crouch a few years ago is immaterial. I think Milner is a good player, but to take the top end of your range for him, and the bottom of what you think is a good offer for a player like Barry - 2m difference between Milner and Barry? The poster above asked me what do i reckon he is worth / what do I think we'll be willing to pay. It is the latter I was answering. If MON is going to spend much more than that, I think he'll look elsewhere. OMG where to start ? OK there is nothing official comming in about what, if anything Liverpool have offered for Milner. The common gossip is they are offering a deal worth around 7mill, this could be made in cash or players whose value approach that fee or a combinaion of both. That could be true or complete garbage. So please don't state things as FACT when the they are not. Rumours again that they have a limited spending, this could very well be true, but if it's limited, it's limited for all players not just because they are English. Absolutely no argument Barry is a much better player, but he's also older and hasn't just signed a 4 or 5 year contract. That's what brings the valuation down. If I were Villa I would sell a 15 mill, but if an offer came in a 12mill plus a good prospect, I would be tempted also. If we got 10 million for Milner I would take it in a heartbeat, if the best Liverpool, Villa or anyone else could offer is 7 Mill then I would only take it if we had a replacement already signed. I would tell anyone to piss right off with a bid of 5mill. EDIT: Just to add if you're right about O'Neill's valuation and this is indicative of how he'll be trying to do business this summer, then you're in for a very boring one because a lot doors will be slamed in his face. But I doubt you are as he didn't seem to shy to get the cheque out for Young and Reo-Cocker.

Until we have some concrete proof that this is our policy, ie we actually sign someone, then I find it hard to get excited about something we 'might' have.

I know what you are saying, I moan about them all the time, but they do sometimes come out with some good stuff, which is buried in the midst of advertising and general horse shit
-
If they only bring in enough income to cover their running costs of hosting the site then they are not marketing themselves very well, because their hit count should enable them to bring in a whole lot more. Take a long look at their page, they have advertising pratically everywhere, what makes it worse for me is that they dress some advertising up as news stories, in the main body. They'll be running it as a business, the may have press tickets which allow them to get into the games for free. They'll certainly claim some tax deductions for costs of covering the games and what not, if they do not then they need to get themselves a better accountant.
-
What's the difference between them and say the Daily Mail on line, or any other news agency ? They are professional journos now, despite what they and others tell you. They get paid through advertising for spouting their opinions, that's pretty much the definition of a journo.

Had a decent game, looked lively and scored the winner at the death. Like it being deflected makes any difference. He had an ok game, not bad, but also no wanking material either (as it seems to some). Why do deflected goals not make a difference? Nobody wants to take the goal away from him, but 'keeper would probably have saved it otherwise, so it was less a matter of skills than of luck. 9m is overpriced imho anyway and I can't see any increase of value just based on this performance (which would be ridiculous anyway, even if he had played really well). Ridiculous as it is, thats what happens. Time and time again we've seen players have a good game or 2 at a big international tournament, then securing a move for a price they would never of fetched had they not played a game in the cup. Not saying it's right, it's just what happens.
-
Why? Can we only sign s*** players? Because if so, why are we selling Emre and Milner? Other clubs will come in for him and he won't want to join us. Wow thank god you're not on the club's negoiation commitee. Well hopefully you are not. Dennis, Tony, Derreck, Chris is that you ?
-
And all the other supporters, and all other news agency and all forums. In fact they are good at criticising most everyone except their plethora of sponsors.

If Turan had been crap he would have just said that everyone was writing him off based on one game. Ddin't know mind reading was one of your skills. I take it you saw the game? My wife would arguing against that, most of the time I haven't a clue what I was supposed to say or do. No I didn't see the game, hence the lack of any remarks by me on how good or how crap he was.
-
His price will either go up £5m or down £5m after the next game, so that's a pointless question. Plus now he's played in the Euro's all the other clubs will have seen him, where they wouldn't have heard of him before. Of course it will, doesn't mean it's a pointless question though. What's wrong with a bit of speculation ?
-
So based on this performance and everything that you've heard about the lad, what the general concensus on a fair price ?

I've not seen anyone claiming to be "Biffa" here, and quite frankly who cares about the other fans forums Don't you find this a little arrogant. Not necessarily what they are talking about but the fact they seem to think they are some sort of celeberaties.
