Always sad when a child passes, feel for his parents, no parent should have to bury a child it's not right.

Rafa clearly doesn't see him as the solution, so turning down 5million seems a bit strange, there must be multiple interest in him I would think.

Pre-Season 2018/19: Newcastle United 0 - 1 FC Augsburg (FT)

Thought this was a nice little video of today's session: -
I have no idea but that would be an interesting situation to research. Never thought if it may be intentional that we are so lopsided in our attacking threat.
-
Would love to see him back here, but not very likely to happen.
-
Good luck to him, could be a nice move for him if the owner is a little better than the last bloke and the manager is a bit of a diamond in the rough. Wish him all the best.

Even with the low standards of that forum this is lifting. Really they have no idea, we just won the league they are in now, an aspiration most of them even realise they have little chance of doing, and zero if they don't bring a bunch of players in. Yet they somehow think our squad is worse than theirs ? They mention every other post about our "delusion", yet somehow this kind of stuff is not deluded. We went narrowly went down with a stronger squad than they did, for proof of that, just look at the outgoing income we had compared to them, we went down because we employed Steve fucking McClaren, not because of the general quality of the squad, it should have been good enough to stay up that year. Last year we added Gayle and Ritchie, while Shelvey played at a higher level in the lower division. We did not miss the qualities of the likes of Sissoko, Gini, Janmaat and Cisse. While they went almost two months before winning a game and finish comfortably bottom of the league. If we had played them last year, I'm pretty confident we would have beaten them 8 or 9 times out of 10. Their squad last season was ill equipped and it's gotten a lot worse since then. The level of ill education on that forum is not real surely.

So how long before the next one is in ? Hopefully not as long as it took to go from transfer 1 to transfer 2.
-
Wow that's impressive, can understand them selling out last year when it was new, to be able to sustain those levels into a second season is amazing.
-
Wow Huddersfield making a real go at things, good for them, got a feeling they will be more than just cannon fodder next year: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40503864

Sir Toon is right, nothing new really, even though Caulkin writes very well he's not telling us anything we didn't already know.
-
Yep the general sentiment when we signed Hanley was that he would push out Mbemba from the starting team, in the end it was Clark who did that and Hanley was 4th choice. Rafa will soon work out who his best pairing is.

OMG that vile woman again, I thought she just focused on the Mackems now, they seem to love her.

If you can stomach their website the Ronnygill has a nice video on their of the players arriving. The only ones unaccounted for appear to be Atsu, Murphy and Mitro, maybe the slipped in through a side door or been given some extra time off for international commitments. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-news-transfers-live-13271100 -
I don't really care what he is like as a person or whatever as long as he's providing funds for Rafa and making good decisions for the club, he's not doing that right now, so at the moment he's a twat !
-
Bout fucking time. But really not my first choice of where we need to strengthen, if we go into the start of the season with no new number 10, Colback still part of a 3 man rotation in the middle, Dummett head and shoulders above all our other LBs and no reliable back up/competition for Gayle then we'll be in for an uninspiring season. We'll need to move one of the existing CB's now, of course, hope someone comes in for Hanley now.

Darlow is in one picture. I've not seen any pics of Mitro or Murphy yet though. -
I think so too, his availability could be the difference between us being in a comfortable position or in a relegation fight, especially if this summer of inactivity continues. Interview up on the official site: https://www.nufc.co.uk/nufc-tv/latest-videos/gayle-glad-to-be-back?autoplay=true&isloggedin=true

I agree with the general sentiment on Huddlestone, if it's true I can only imagine he would be cover for Shelvey.

Another couple of weeks of this inactivity and he's out of the door IMO, and I wouldn't blame him for a second.

Watford sign another 2: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/40467024, including a RB wonder where that leaves Janmaat ? Seems like it's not impossible to make signings in this market, unlike it is for us, guess they have the London factor (sort of).
-
This crap about other clubs not making moves in June is turning out to be a little misleading, because, Bournemouth, Huddersfield and Watford, all teams around us have improved their squads and are all close to improving further, while as we've stood still. The clock is ticking right now, pretty loudly.
-
I disagree, outside of that ridiculous suspension he got, I think Jonjo has shown nothing but great professionalism last season and obviously setting himself up for this season. He's a creative player, offensive player that was vital to our promotion campaign, we have to live with some aspects that are missing in his game from a defensive perspective, just like we did with HBA. That's why you put players around him that can do the things he can't, Hayden for me was a perfect foil last year. No idea if we will be controlling games or not, a lot of teams are set up for counter attack these days, it's not always how high you finish in that determines how much of the ball you have, hell last season on a number of occasions we lost the possession stats war quite comfortably. Jonjo should be a major player for us next season, hell the way recruitment is going it could very well be the same group in the middle as we had last season, we've been linked with no one who would be a direct replacement for Shelvey, we probably do need an understudy though because we were awful when he was out of the team last year.
-
Potentially a terrible little signing that. Wonder when we'll be linked to some exciting players. What are you basing that on? Holtby for that price would be an excellent signing for us. I agree, when did we become one of the top 6 again ? He's the type of signing that could flourish under Rafa, we'll need to make a few of these with the overall budget we are probably working with.
