According to Mirror Football, chief scout Graham Carr has been scouring the Dutch scene since unearthing Cheik Tiote at FC Twente last summer and now has his sights on 21-year-old Sigthorsson, enjoying a productive campaign with AZ Alkmaar. Sigthorsson, who notched up five strikes in a 6-1 win over VVV-Venlo this season, has 14 goals already to his name. The 21-year-old could prove a viable option, with Toon owner Mike Ashley reluctant to spend big in the summer transfer window.
