  1. If they don't take him to the World Cup they may well accept that offer.

Think they want to see if he goes, and therefore could potentially increase his value.

  2. Think the Cabella deal might come good. That article is saying we've agreed personal terms, which is usually a good sign, as it doesn't tend to get to that stage unless negotiations with the club are heading in the right direction, and they allow permission to speak to the player.

  3. Ron, if you think Rooney ultimately made the best of himself then fair enough.

I will never argue how good a player he is, as I think he is quality. However, when I saw him in that first World Cup I honestly thought he was going to be something truly special. It's just disappointing that's all. Especially when you here about him saying stuff like he isn't paid to lift weights. I mean, come on.

  4. Ron your response is typical of the English public in regards to Rooney all these years. No one dared criticize him. He's been mollycoddled. Hence the state he's in.

Good player, but could have been so much more.

    Deal with it!

  5. I am sure I remember reading somewhere a while back ( I could be mistaken though) that Rooney doesnt do that many gym sessions as he believes he gets paid to play football and not lift weights. May explain alot.

Highlights the stupidity of the man tbh.

Gym sessions are absolutely vital for the modern day athlete. It's not just about going in there and lifting heavy weights to put on Mass, like some body builder.

There are all kinds of tailored programmes to aid your reaction time and explosiveness, not to mention those aimed at helping to prevent against injury. No wonder his injury record isn't great.

I mean why not give yourself every advantage if you really want to be great. The club hires trainers that specialize in this stuff, and are paid to help you reach your full potential physically. Imagine him telling them that crap! "I'm not paid to lift weights", um actually you damn well are you cretin. It's all part of the gig. Very stupid of him.

  6. Absolutely disgraceful by the club, as always. Even worse is an ex-workmate on twitter....

not good enough im afraid, the pace and rigours of the premier league showed him to be distinctively average...£8.5m go figure

good player in average leagues like most european players nowadays...Premier League separates the boys from the men

Quality equals entertainment...He never coped well consistently was barracked by Carragher and Neville on Sky after Man City. Subbed at half time against Spurs maybe Everton...clearly out of his depth in England...French league is his level im afraid. The decision by Deschamps speaks volumes IMO wasnt deemed world cup quality...says it all

I think Pardew releasing some of the French contingent can only be a good thing IMO need a backbone of English.

This actually makes me look forward to Pardew getting rid of those he has chosen to, and getting in the cloggers he wants.

It seems the majority actually deserve this fate.

  7. it doesnt make sense selling MYM for nuts and buying replacement for a larger amount of money.  It also doesn't make sense to have no replacement as this is an express route to relegation.  Whats happening there?

Well apparently the big plan is not to buy a replacement, but promote Remi Streete to the squad. So don't hold your breath.

  8. Hmmm ... Jack Colback.

Honestly, the number of times I watched Sunderland, I definitely remember being surprised by some of the things he did. He's alright, but under Pardew might well become one of the worst players in the world, so ultimately, what is the point?

  9. Get in. What is the likelihood of him starting, Baba?

Emenike is unquestioned number 9, and Keshi usually only plays one central striker, so very low.

I'm disappointed you would even acknowledge such an insulting question with any response at all.

  10. Kaka, take life too seriously. List never comot and you are vexed already.

Baba you disappeared for a little while, so I'm not sure how in touch you stayed with events at Newcastle. Did you see the state of Shola towards the end of the season?!

I cannot bear the thought of him being anywhere near the Naija team. I'm definitely suffering from hypertension at the mere thought.

  11. Won't be missing any of Nigeria's games now...

Well, this is just great. You guys are going to ruin this world cup for me aren't you.

Last thing I need is you lot commenting on all our friggin games for goodness sake.

  12. As someone already mentioned, how bad was Debuchy in his first few performances? He was absolutely shocking! look at him now though.

Mapou has hardly been given time to settle in. In his longest spell he was starting to shine, and then got shafted! It's a joke.

Look at how bad Colo was at times in his first season.  The lad needs to play regularly and in his proper position to be given a chance to improve and adjust to the league.

I think this is the rare example where we "planned ahead" as everyone was expecting Colo to go.  Now he seems to be staying, the club don't know what to do with MYM so their response is to get rid.  Ashley must be furious we bought a player than ended up not being needed.  I can't imagine he will let that happen again.

It's simple really, get rid of the older guy who looks like he is deteriorating! They're all a bunch of idiots.

  13. Today's the day innit?

I've got butterflies. Shola must go to Brazil.

    :sweetjesus:

    Puhleeeze, Nigeria. Please!
