This is something I've always thought too. Why can't you just make sure Tiote or Sissoko cover him on that side.

I had to stay away from my computer after Shola's performance yesterday, I really did. I cannot believe that guy.

I maintain I would play Obertan ahead of him, yes. Yes I would.

Shola doesn't harry players or defend from the front.

Shola doesn't hold the ball up.

Shola doesn't score goals.

Shola doesn't create goals.

Shola doesn't win headers.

Shola doesn't stay onside.

Shola doesn't run.

Shola does absolutely nothing of note on a consistent basis, ever. He cannot be relied upon, ever. All these years, the same alarmingly bad performances, always.

Shola Ameobi is in the team ahead of Hatem Ben Arfa. Why? There is no plausible, or sensible reason.

I would play Obertan ahead of Shola, at least he might run past someone by accident. Shola couldn't even achieve this by mistake.

Sick of it, absolutely sick of it.

This guy has no conviction and ultimately it's his most depressing trait.

Even when his supposed favoured 4-4-2 was going well, he started messing about with that as well.

As a manager we still don't know what he wants from his team, when he sets them out to play.

Even Tim Sherwood, who is fresh on the scene from coaching the Tottenham Academy, has laid out his philosophy, do or die. 4-4-2, width, on the front foot. It's clear to see what his approach is. It's all very gung ho, and I'm not sold on the guy at all, but at least he knows what he wants, and is just going for it.

How would you describe the current Newcastle team's play? I'm honestly not capable of describing it at all. The best I can do is describe it as being hopeful. There is no clear approach or purpose.

They should have taken him as part of the Van Persie deal. He would be sensational at Arsenal.

Wenger isn't going to be on him all the time to graft, especially playing upfront alone.

How we are where we are with Pardew really is beyond me, when you see decisions and performances like todays.
