  1. I like Mel a lot, hope he can make the jump to a different league

Betis were one of the most pleasing teams in La Liga to watch. Very daring too.

    Seems an interesting appointment.

If West Brom are able to get this kind of manager, then there is no reason why we can't.

That's why it's a bit frustrating when people say "No one would want to come here" or "Who would we get" when folks want Pardew replaced.

Obviously, there's no certainty he will be good, but still the guy appears to have some pedigree, and a far more positive approach.

You look at the likes of Pochettino at Southampton, and the difference he made straight away, and you can't help but wonder.

  2. West Ham are so horribly put together. They hardly have any assets on the field whatsoever, as far as players with any quality/promise go. Despite the money Fat Sam has spent, or should we say wasted.

Diame and Morrison and that's about it really.

  3. Custis was on SSN this morning doing the morning paper review...He obviously thinks Sam is in trouble but started blaming the players.

Aye ok, its never Sam's fault.

I swear some of these managers pay off their pals in the press.

  4. wonder if these will try to get barkley?  be the best signing they could make imho

Why didn't Moyes give that kid more opportunities to play at Everton by the way?

I remember him looking decent in a few cameos, a good few years ago now, but he then disappeared.

We're told West Ham remain in advanced talks with Inter Milan over striker Ishak Belfodil #whufc

That's all Sam was looking at. Just needs a bonce for the high balls to bounce off of.

  6. Nearly 29 as well, can imagine he'll be after a pay day with a long-ish term contract if he's going to go for nowt. I'd rather pass and look elsewhere unless we could do a deal for a couple years.

Yup, good points. I think for these reasons, the club has moved on.

  7. "Man Utd boss David Moyes among the nominees for the Barclays Premier League manager of the month for December"

    wat

They did win 4 in a row in December and drew at Spurs, why shouldnt he be a nominee?

He should, however the timing is terrible, and makes it look like they're taking the p*ss almost

They really need to determine that earlier.

  8. They'll win the Champions League in the next 3-4 years.

    I don't think they will.

They just keep buying, and don't seem to be allowing any of these players to settle into a cohesive group.

Pretty cohesive to me. Ok, they've done some errors at first, like ManCity did (Robinho, Balotelli) but now they recruitment seems coherent, Marquinhos, Digne, now Griezmann and maybe Pogba, they targeting young player with massive potential for a long term vision.

So what are they going to do with the previous set of players?

How long will it be before they ditch these young promising ones you speak of?

Not convinced. Like Man City I think they'll be a threat in their league, but won't do much in the Champions League ultimately.

  9. Sam was a mess. If he doesn't have his big lummox upfront he doesn't know what to do.

Our best strikers at the time were two midgets, and it scrambled his brain.

I remember Oba being shunted out wide of a 4-3-3, and I can't even remember what he did with Owen. It was just silly.

All these years later, and it's the same at West Ham. Pining away for Carroll to come and save him.

  10. SAF let Pogba go for free...Probably one of the finest midfield prospects in euro football. Paid 25m for RVP who was nearly 30.

Problems have been building up for a while...Then drop Gollum into the minefield.

Van Persie has been injured the majority of every season bar the last one, it was almost a miracle.

All that hard running for Moyes has done him in once again though.

    What a beautiful mess.
