If Tuchel ever uses his 3 at the back system for England, I think Murphy would be incredible as a right sided wing back in that setup. It was how Rafa had us lineup towards the end of his tenure, when we were really starting to put something together, with Almiron, Rondon and Ayoze as the front three. Think Murphy would have ended up as a right wing back in that setup, and been very good.

Pretty sure I saw reports a little while back with Parrish running his mouth about how they wouldn't be selling him for cheap this summer or some nonsense. Not sure I want us trying to negotiate or deal with that prat again all summer.

And still earns millions for it. I doubt it.

It wasn't meant as a shot at ASM. I just love that gif. It's so funny. ASM was one of the few bright spots during some very dark times.

I'm with you. I trust him more than anyone else in one on one situations especially, as he is just going to slot it away in a no nonsense fashion. Isak can sometimes be guilty of getting a bit too cute. Having said that though, Isak is more capable of pulling something extraordinary off. Amazing to have them both in the first team. It's a heck of a lot for teams to deal with.

Just so glad for him, as he's been very patient. Gordon lost his place due to that bit of petulance and the injury afterwards, and this guy has grabbed the opportunity and run with it. Might be a while before Gordon gets back in.

It's absolutely crazy really, but the results can't be argued with! Still gives me several heart attacks when we're building up play through defence and midfield, but in the final third he is just so dangerous now. Huge credit to him for realising he just needs to keep it simple in that area of the pitch and whip the ball in once he has a bit of space to do so. Did not think the revolution for the return of the traditional winger would be headed up by Jacob Murphy!

Jacob "The Juice" Murphy is fantastic work

My God that is beautiful. Didn't think we'd take full advantage of the games in hand, but we totally did. Let's go after Arsenal and run them down!

We can't be using the likes of Wilson and Longstaff next season for any games if we are to progress. Was painful watching them once they came on. Really need to fill out the squad with more capable performers off the bench. Hope we manage that this summer.

Wonderful result. So glad we didn't concede at the end there. Would have been so annoying. Table looks absolutely delicious.

The way he panicked just then man.

Tonali is such a maestro.

Longstaff's touch man. Wow ...

They must've decided/accepted that Barnes does better there than Gordon, as it's a very clear decision not to put Gordon there now if it can be helped. Actually want to see Barnes get more of the ball down that side to see what he can do. I'm certain he'll flourish.

Joelinton moaning about coming off. Having too much fun!

Joelinton again ... doing what he does best. Another simple opportunity again thanks to his effort causing problems for the opposition backline.

Oh yes!!! There he is!!!

Isak man

Completely blown away by that first half ... The Guehi bit is just so impossibly perfect too. What a way the remainder of the season is playing out man. Overjoyed. Hope it carries on right till the end. Even the goal difference has been completely flipped over the last few games. I can't believe it.

Yeah, I know quite a few people had said they'd prefer another striker that offered something a bit different as a plan B, but that also had room to grow too. Rather than going down the route of getting another older premier league veteran like Calvert-Lewin. Coming in from Belgium and not yet being fully established, a secondary role to Isak is also not likely to be an issue. The article says Genk would be after around £15 million, so indeed similar to the Osula deal. Wages would be cheap too. Another thing about this type of player is I think he'd be an easy sale to Saudi for at least double what is paid for him if things don't work out, just based on his season in Belgium alone. I think Howe and the recruitment team would really have to believe in the player's ability and potential to opt for someone like him as the backup ahead of a Calvert Lewin though. The article says Howe in particular wants him and so we'll see how true that is.

I remember reading about this back in March. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14550377/Man-United-official-Newcastle-CEO.html Sounded more like we had identified her as a replacement for Eales due to his health, as we have been searching for one. Reads as though she's well regarded. Might be returning the favour after they came for Ashworth
