The guy's agent is nuts. Heard it was the main reason he never ended up at Arsenal last season and then again this season, despite him being Arteta's preferred striker signing. At one point they were even saying he had asked Arsenal to include a release clause this summer. God only knows what he's requesting for Newcastle to sign him.
-
This is terrifying. Who on Earth thinks like this?! My God.
-
I think if Isak leaves at any point this summer we have to sign him, because he gives us a level of guaranteed Premier League goals that we will absolutely need.

There was a big falling out over the transfer. Stuttgart are insisting on around £55 million, and Bayern were trying to strong arm them into accepting less and Stuttgart eventually refused to discuss it any further. Bayern have since spent big on Diaz and are still trying to convince Xavi Simmons over Chelsea. There's reports they won't be going back for Woltemade. Would be a really good alternative if Sesko and his agent are being difficult.
-
We really need to re-evaluate the kind of players we go for. Sesko has been hyped since he was a teenager at Salzburg and been linked with all the so called "big clubs" since then. Wouldn't be surprised if he'd be coming to Newcastle thinking about when he can leave to join one of them, as soon as he does well. This should be avoided at all costs, no matter how promising the player is.

Sesko is certainly not the finished article IMO, which is why I find Man United going for him absolutely crazy. He's decent as is, but it's more about what he could ultimately become in the right environment. Would have been good for us, as we're looking to try and get Wissa too, which would mean a lot less pressure and room to continue to improve. At Man United he'll be thrown straight in, with alternatives like Hojlund and Zirkzee, who haven't settled either, or shown any consistency in the league, because they weren't put in the best environment either! Could see it being a bit of a disaster at Man United tbh. Or maybe they'll get lucky and it clicks. it's a big risk to take.
-
Has come out recently that they're after a similar fee to what RB Leipzig are asking for Sesko, so £60 - £70 million.
-
Well he only turned 21 this year and in his first full season as a first team player in Portugal he scored 27 goals in 47 games. Part of the reason I also added that clip is because it shows him scoring two really good goals against Man United in the Europa League, twice getting the best of DeLigt who had a solid season for them. Similar to Sesko, I would be looking to bring either of them in with Wissa, as you'd ideally want a more experienced alternative option, as there will be some growing pains here and there.

Man Utd will mess this kid up. Let's let it happen. Let's go for Samu and leave them to it if things drag on for too long. He already embarrassed Man United this past season and all.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Don't mean to sound harsh but if this injury speeds up the process of him being done at Newcastle and other options coming in I won't be complaining. -

We have to go forward without considering Willock as a an integral part of the squad. He's been so poor for too long now, and is always a second away from another injury. -

Elanga is so well suited to how we play man. That right side is going to be so much more dangerous. -
Ah, okay. So you weren't keen on the Trafford signing either then. Fair enough.
-
So you think at this point Trafford is clearly better than both Pope and Ramsdale then?
-
The certainty that Trafford was going to be so much better is interesting. As things stand he's a Championship goalie with a lot of promise. Last time he was in the Prem he wasn't able to hold down his position the full season. In the short term I'm more confident playing Ramsdale this season. He has far more top level experience in the Prem and Champions league at a club with high stakes.
-
From what I'm reading on here it's clear people only know him from that pigeon clip and perhaps some highlight of the odd mistake he made that was on X or something.
-
Lookman is a 5 ft 8 left winger man.
-
People are confident this guy is going to do well at Man City yeah?! I think Pep has brought him in largely for the home grown quota and is going to mess him about. Think it's more likely he won't get the game time or development he needs and will end up leaving in a couple of seasons.
-
Assuming Isak goes. Has to be two strikers. One Prem based with experience of the league and one higher potential prospect. At least one with some height and physicality. At least one has to be available during AFCON. No more than £110 million for the pair. If Jackson comes in has to be paired with someone that has shown more of a natural finishing ability. Based on that one of: Wissa and Sesko. Wissa and Aghehowa. Jackson and Openda. Jackson and Biereth.

Think the Belgian league is a good shout. Nice.

If this signing goes through it is going to be absolutely brutal coming back to this thread in a few months.

Not surprised. They liked him at Arsenal. I was going to say I was surprised by the reaction on here to the news, but then again I'm not really Think he was silly to join the clubs he did after Arsenal, but Southgate had told him he had to be playing to keep his England place and I think he rushed things. Should have waited for the right move.
