Wow ... that Sky Sports piece is ridiculous!
The guy plays as a wide forward in a 4-3-3 a hell of a lot of the time for starters, which is where we're likely to use him too, and so his goalscoring record from previous seasons is pretty impressive imo. Him not scoring much this issue is due to his return from an injury, so you can't exactly hold that against him either, especially as he hasn't been starting much. As long as he's fit now and ready to play it shouldn't be an issue.
Besides you can't just look at his goalscoring record alone, you have to take into account his attributes too. The guy's dribbling and speed is going to lead to a lot of problems for defences, which should open up more scoring opportunities for the team in general. Bellamy wasn't scoring 20 goals a season, but he was a very valuable and dangerous player for example.
Now this heart issue. Did they even do any research into this? Wasn't this cleared as far back as a couple of season's ago.
Yikes!

Maybe he's f***ing useless in training? Surely the management and coaching team are in a better position to judge than us?
The same ones that wouldn't play Marveaux until everyone else dropped dead?
-
Cabaye will start on Saturday, certain of it.
Me too. Now his ultimatum that Debuchy join otherwise he wouldn't play, has been met.

This really could be the ultimate humiliation for the MA and DL, a healthy flogging from the man they didn't deem 'strong' enough to manage the club, Hughton.
If they do beat, us, and we perform really poorly, it wouldn't surprise me if it ended up being the beginning of the end for Pardew.

I'm still astounded at the sheer vision and bravura of Swansea to just go and get Laudrup. Amazing.
Yup. See the sad thing is the majority of owners really aren't all that different from the majority of fans in how narrow minded they can be as far as hiring a manager goes.
The first reaction when you suggest a change in manager on here is usually, the typical 'who can we get that's better?', which always baffles me. It always seemingly has to be someone everyone has heard about that is a proven success already.
I gurantee if people had suggetsed Laudrup, had he not already gone to Swansea, he would likely have been rubbished by most, as having not proven anything anywhere.
The priority though should really be to look at the manager's approach and philosophy, and the potential to marry this up with the clubs current assets etc.
Although I can't necessarily name them all, I have no doubt there's at least a handful of managers that can come in and make far better use of the players we have, and implement a style of football that is bettersuited to them, than Pardew ever could.
It's been quite unacceptable from Pardew really.

The funny thing is Brighton are not just a championship side, but a pretty lightweight one, they're not physical at all, and play an open game.
Why wouldn't this guy make an appearance against such a team?
Doesn't make much sense at all.
-
Funny old business this. He's 23 isn't he? And we are not giving him a game.
So either we are treating him like a 17 year old for development reasons or we just don't rate him, odd.
How lowly can we rate him that he couldn't even be given a game against Brighton, not even off the bench?
I mean we were pretty much throwing in the towel for that game anyway.
Seriously, even Xisco should have pleayed in that, or be given an appearance.
At least they're both a bit older, and actually have experience of playing full season's of football.
Pardew is just screwing up as usual.

I have no doubt in my mind that Pardew is mis-managing this guy. No doubt.
The only way we'll see him is if injuries force it to happen, and then we'll all wonder why he hasn't appeared any sooner.

French commentator just mentioned us. Not speaking a word of French, I'm sure he said he's definitely coming here.
Wait, this isn't French
What?
You're really confusing me.
Was watching some stream, and the commentator mentioned us. Without listening properly, I just assumed it was French, but then I realised it sounds more like Russian or something
Oh right. Makes more sense now!

Eurosport ? It's not on?
I have Eurosport - OM-GUINGAMP- and Eurosport 2 for the Ski
Different schedule in France it seems.
Any news over in France regarding Gomis? Still likely to leave this January?
The way Pardew was talking about wanting power, pace and more goals from set pieces, maybe a possibility?

Just seen that Rivaldo is on trial at Pompey
Absolutely love this guy. Sensational footballer. Who I don't think gets as much kudos as some of the other Brazilian players do.
-
Apparently Liverpool have had an offer for Tom Ince rejected but talks are still ongoing.
Is it 2012 again?
-
Saying we can't get a decent replacement for Ba, with the fee we received from Chelsea for him. He also talked about MA having to therefore find extra money for the striker because of this, as money is tight.
Just a bunch of posturing in order to get the best deal possible for any striker we're after I imagine.

Just think of the perfromance Shola had the other day.
And he gets up today, looks at the paper, and sees his manager describing it as a terrific performance.
It's not surprise he lazily ambles about the way he always does. The guy will actually be thinking he's George Weah!
It's disgusting honestly.
-
“I thought Shola was terrific. He wasn’t in the starting line-up when we did the team, but he came in, and I was proud of him.
“Whether he can two games in four days, that’s a risk for him. I am thinking about resting him.”
God, this guy can be so depressing.

Tbf it doesn't mean we want to hoof....
For one thing he mentioned pace and no hoofball merchant is pacey.....
Odd thing to say.
Name a target man around who is quick, Drogba was the only one in recent years and he had much more to his game than your standard target man.
Lukaku and Benteke, just off the top off my head.
Lukaku is not that quick. Not sure if he's any quicker than Cisse, really.
Don't be fooled by his frame! That guy can motor trust me.
I watched WBA play Fulham the other night and whilst they lost, they caused Fulham all sorts of problems in the second half, and Lukaku was behind much of this with his mobility and holding of the ball. It was a game well worth watching and tons better than most of the rubbish we have served up this season because WBA ran so well off the ball that they always had plenty of attacking options.
Berbatov had a great game for Fulham too, basically down to him that they won.
Yeah, watched that game too.
Have no idea why Chelsea feel Lukaku can't get a good amount of games for them upfront as an alternative to Torres. He's been brilliant for West Brom when he's played.

I don't want to.. but every time he does something on the pitch in terms of the teams he puts out, or does an interview i find myself hating him more and more.
I want to and I do. Such is my annoyance over the whole thing.
I used to be such a positive guy. Thanks a lot Pards.

Wait? Is this a complaint?
If he knew he could only work with players hand picked by himself, then he shouldn't have taken the job tbh.
The one thing we are definitely getting right at the inute is the calibre of players we're recruiting. We could do with getting a few more in, and in a timely manner, but we have some damn good players.
Pardew should bow out if he doesn't know what to do with them, and is instead pining for his Jason Puncheons, Danny Grahams and Adam Llalanas.
