  1. Nothing to do with the money, it was a game of Fifa with Fernandes that changed his mind? Laughable

Heard this too. Apparently he found out Fernandes was "a really nice guy" after playing him at FIFA.

Sounds like a total nutjob tbh.

    :jesuswept:

  2. Have the Gouffran quotes been posted?

Ligue 1 side Bordeaux have revealed they are ready to listen to offers for star striker Yoan Gouffran.

Gouffran, 26, has set his sights on leaving les Girondins after spending last four and a half years at the club and has rejected a contract extension from Bordeaux.

The French giants are now prepared to cash in on their prized asset, but club president Jean-Louis Triaud admits that the player’s desire to move to English Premier League is limiting his options.

“He was offered an extension, but this did not seem to please him”, Triaud told French radio station Radio Monte Carlo.

“In order to consider his departure, it is necessary to have offers or contacts. He is thinking. He is on the lookout.

“His only potential choice is England and this limits the possibilities. In June he had an offer from Reading, he refused it, it makes sense.”

Yoan Gouffran joined Bordeaux in a €6.5 million deal from Caen and didn’t need a lot of time to establish himself as a first team regular at Stade Chaban-Delmas.

He has scored a total of 31 goals in 139 Ligue 1 appearances for les Girondins despite being rarely used as a centre forward.

Gouffran has been in fine form this term, netting 8 times in 19 Ligue 1 matches.

Surely we'll be sniffing around this - 26 years old, striker/winger, pacy, can finish with both feet and he seems to be available at a decent price.  I don't know much about the guy but he sounds spot on!

Pardew: "He's a decent enough player, but I'm just not sure his head is large enough for Mike to pick out from the back line"

  3. Would Graham want to be backup though? Thought that's why he wanted out of Swansea?

Things are a bit too quiet at the minute though. Quite nerve wracking

Some good news before this weekends game would be huge, particularly as it is a home one.

Give the fans some encouragement for goodness sake.

always like him even though he hasn´t lived up to the earlier hype. Wenger probably wants him?

What's his style of play like? Anyone you'd compare him to in the premier league? Would he link well with Cisse upfront do you think?

  5. TBF when we're predominately meeting players and seemingly doing medicals in London I think we're doing the club/city a disservice as a sales point.

I do agree with this to some degree. Think they should be flown straight to Newcastle.

However, if all it takes is a night stop in London to do a complete 180, then there's definitely something not correct in the boy's head.

  6. It's a Lee Ryder article ffs. Don't take it as anything more than that just to appease your pride. I'm not going to question someone's personality and motives any more than at face value, just because (and especially if) Lee Ryder reports it.

He went for the money, it's as simple as that.

Well, I don't know if he slept in or not, but the fact he never even had the courtesy to go up and have a look at what Newcastle had to offer, knowing full well the efforts they made to sign him, is just bizarre to me.

Let's see what happens. I have a feeling he'll get exactly what he deserves when it's all said and done.

  7. Why is Colo doing this?

    Honestly this is just tedious.

Doing what, man? We know nowt.

Let's wait and see how things pan out before we prematurely castigate one of our players, again.

I'm not having a go. Just really frustrating. The timing of all this is just so bad.

  8. How is that type of pass from Anita any better? That's the type of pass that Nicky Butt used to love, and they are embarrassingly easy to deal with, that's if they don't go straight out for a goal kick. It's still a very direct game, no matter which words you want to use to dress it up.

Playing a ball over the top of the defence from midfield is now deemed to be bad football?  What utter tosh.  I agree that the margin for error for a ball played over the top that has no angle on it is small but to dismiss it is ridiculous.

It's probably the fact we play it even when there isn't a viable or realistic run on.

We do tend to sometimes play this ball more out of hope than having any real option over the top.

It's more of a bail out than anything, as it's usually due to a lack of options, due to poor movement and availability of players to receive the ball short.

It's not as bad as it was a bit earlier on this season, but there is still room for much improvement.

  9. Well, if we're going to play the long ball then we might as well have someone who can win the ball up top ...

We really just need to be more effective regardless of the style of play.

Utilising the wings would be really important if we go 4-4-2. Debuchy will help, but we really need improved wing play for someone other than Ben Arfa too.

  10. According to our information, the English club Newcastle have views Bafé Gomis (11 goals in 19 league games this season).

Desiring to replace Demba Ba, transferred to Chelsea, the Magpies who come to steal to Loic Remy by Queens Park Rangers are considering making an offer to OL in the next few days.

The Lyon striker whose market value is estimated at 10 million euros would finish the season at Lyon.

    R.B

Transfers OL: Bafétimbi Gomis to Newcastle?

And if Bafétimbi Gomis replaced Demba Ba left for Chelsea there ten days? Since the departure of striker, Newcastle is looking for a player capable of replacing. After probably failed on file Loïc Rémy, who should sign for QPR, the Magpies do not admit defeat so far. According Olympique Lyonnais and, Bafétimbi Gomis is the new priority made in France of the English club.

Side Lyon, Jean-Michel Aulas keeps repeating that no player is transferable research at all costs replenish its coffers. Whether selling Gourcuff, Lisandro, Bastos and Gomis, everything is good to degrease the workforce and make room for the young. Newcastle willing to put up € 10 million on the table to secure the services of the Black Panther therefore comes at the right time ...

Looking like Gomis is a strong possibility.

Lyon seem desperate to free up some money with a significant transfer.

    We shall see.

  11. Just on another note ...

The bids for the likes of Thauvin and Haidara are very interesting.

It seems there really is a push to revamp the second team/squad with youngsters who actually have experience, having broken into first teams for smaller clubs, rather than the likes of Abeid and Vukic who had promise but hadn't really achieved much yet.

In a sense we seem to be going after more youngsters in the mould of Bassong, who despite being young, had a lot more experience of first team football at the time, and was able to contribute when called upon, rather than look as out of place as some of our current younger crop have.

    Think it's a fantastic idea.

  12. I think us signing Remy before the Reading game (even if he didn't play) was the lift that the club, and the fans needed. We go into that game suddenly looking way short up front after we all thought he'd be signing.

This is what has me feeling down the most, especially as the players will likely be down about it too.

  13. Is Willie McKay Remy's agent?

If so the guy was never going to sign for us, with Harry interested as well.

McKay and Redknapp are both cut from the same cloth. Both complete shysters.

McKay would have benn doing everything to get him to join his pal.
