    Anthony Elanga

The ball carrying ability and decent strength/balance too, to have people bounce off him when they try to bump him off the ball. It's why I couldn't wrap my head around some people saying he was no better than Murphy, and even comparing them in any kind of way.
  2. The entitlement man People are desperate for signings over here, and these are trying to cancel theirs because they think they know better
  3. I can see why Man Utd fans would be freaking out tbh, after what Spurs have done the last couple of days. If this summer doesn't work out and they end up being poor again next season and end up having to get rid of Amorim early on, they are in major danger of falling really far behind.
  4. £115 million in this summer now, and a good amount of time left in the window to make some signings. Their recruitment hasn't been too shabby since they came up. Wouldn't be at all surprised if they do some good business and still end up having a good season.
  5. Yeah, not overly fussed about Gibbs-White at all. Hes a good player though. Would rather get in another striker that can play off Isak, dropping into the half spaces.
  6. Spurs apparently looking at Baleba next ... now that would be mental. They're not messing around.
  7. It's tricky, but I have no doubt they're trying for him. Chelsea and Liverpool are looming, but they've shown they aren't afraid to aim high even if it means losing out to other clubs. Also, something to consider, is a couple of things Eddie Howe has said previously. They will go for players they like when they are available to be had. There's a small pool of players that can improve the first team. Ekitike at the time we first went for him was reported as being a player Howe liked a lot. He is essentially a souped up version of Joao Pedro, and we went to £50 million for him. It's going to be really tough, but if things fall our way, just maybe. If not, it will be probably be someone else of a high level, that can play in that support striker role, who we were also linked with a lot before. Looking back and the other two names that kept coming up previously, that fit the profile, are Goncalo Ramos and Amine Gouiri. So maybe one of them.
  8. Hugo Ekitike wants to move to the Premier League Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel that the 23-year-old was keen on a move to the Premier League despite interest from Saudi Arabia. He again touted Newcastle as a potential landing spot, though did claim that both Liverpool and Chelsea have been calling the player “for weeks”. “There is movement on Hugo Ekitike, with interest from Saudi, but the priority of the player remains England,” he said. “And with Newcastle interested in Hugo Ekitike, there is still interest also from more clubs. “Because clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea have been calling for the player for weeks, since June, for example, being informed on the situation of Hugo Ekitike. “Newcastle are also interested in the player, and so we will see what’s going to happen with the Eintracht striker this summer transfer window.” What Hugo Ekitike has said about rejecting Newcastle United Speaking to Le Parisien in 2022, Ekitike said: “I’m not setting aside everything Newcastle did for me to come. If I had to go abroad, I would have gone there. But when PSG wants you and you’re French, you can’t refuse.”
  9. Napoli president: 'Garnacho's got pace, flair and potential,' Di Laurentiis said. 'But that's not even why we want him.' 'We want him because he's at United. Get him out and he becomes twice the player. There's a fault at United that I can't explain.'
  10. He's being linked with Newcastle and 2 Saudi clubs in the article. Article says his preference is to remain in Europe and not go to Saudi.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Isak won't leave this summer. Unless absolutely incomprehensible money is offered. Despite that though, we seem to be looking to spend significantly on a striker that can step in for him at a very good level, and also play with him in a tandem. Part of this, may be with a view to Isak possibly moving on next summer when he goes into the last two years of his contract. Think there's defenders out there we can get in the 20-30 million range, like we've seen with the fees quoted for the guy at Marseille and for Thiaw, and so more money could go towards the striker we bring in. We've already gone as high as £50 million for Pedro so far, and have been linked with other strikers that will cost a decent amount, like Ekitike and Aghehowa.
  12. Both Kudus and Mbeumo had similar numbers in the Premier League, in the 23/24 season, around 8/9 goals and 6 assists. The two seasons before that Mbeumo was typically in that range of production too. Last season was the anomaly for Mbeumo so far. He's now spoken of as though he is clearly above all these other guys, but we'll see if that's the case soon enough. I like Mbeumo, but not convinced he's now going to continue to produce at around the level he did last season. Will be impressed if he does. Let's see.
  13. Nice pickup for Spurs. Got that fee down to a reasonable number too. Happier with the Elanga signing overall though. Couple of years younger and like his scope for further improvement more.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

    Complete nothing article.
  15. Was wondering recently if we ought to try and play him in that deeper Tonali role when he comes off the bench or gives someone else a rest, rather than as one of the more forward midfielders. And then have the center backs take on a bit more responsibility advancing the ball when he plays there. Think he struggled in more advanced positions as he had to be quicker in thought and also with his feet. Was better previously, sitting deeper in a more defensive role. Will likely play that sort of position at Leeds in a double pivot. Think it would be a decent move for him, and the fee is pretty good considering he's in the last year of his contract. Wish him the best if he moves. Those recent links to that tall midfielder at Fiorentina may have something to them. Can't believe there have been two previous bids and they weren't reported.

Seeing what has been asked for Semenyo, Kudus and Mbeumo this summer, I think Newcastle have done well here. Forest should be pleased too. It's a good chunk of money. Great pickup for far less from Man United that they've got a very decent profit on.

Can see the through balls from Bruno to Elanga down that right side already.

Decent fee that, considering Forest's initial demands of over £60 million. With all this PSR nonsense, every penny is going to count. Really good sign going forward for any other deals to follow. Good thing we didn't just "move on".
  19. You're thinking of the guy at Juve that we supposedly went after as well, before he joined them from Fiorentina.

He's their player and they were not looking to sell him. They get to call all the shots. If you don't like it as the buyer, you find your way out.
