Riquelme to West Ham has disaster wrote all over it.
He's about as fast as he was aged 21, but their whole style of play will have to be built around him and at his age I can't see him making a huge effort to settle and adapt.
agreed....he's always been a super slow player but as most will have seen from watching him...many players could still not get anywhere near him or get the ball off him.
He struggled to really settle in Spain with Villareal so I don't think here will be any easier.....good to see a player of his calibre here though if he comes....
He was incredible for Villareal from what I remember. Set up a million goals for Forlan.

I say one thing and now you're all throwing a hissy fit and having a go at Nigeria and African football etc. That's okay you go ahead. We don't claim to be the best and we don't always claim we are going to win every world cup. To be honest I'd much rather they sorted a lot of other things going on in Africa, before they start worrying about winning world cups. Having said that though, all things considered, I'm still happy with what Nigeria and some of the other African teams have managed to achieve considering the horrible investment and support from their respective football associations.
Now having said all that. If it all came down to it I would most definitely put my money on Nigeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast if they came up against England. So if you really think those three teams are that crap then it says a lot about England also.

A lift from them being the home nation for a start, similar to what South Korea did.

Forlan is a truly class player though, everything he's doing is perfect. Dribbling, touch, passes and shots. Not struggling with the supposed funny ball at all. Everyone else seems so chaotic that it's hard to figure if this ball is wonky or not.

Luis Suarez has been a bit dissapointing in the two games I've seen Uruguay so far. He looks like he has a tendency to overdo things.

I think this shows the shocking standard that football is in generally, premier league was bad for it's standards, along with champions league as well. I think football, especially european teams are now paying for allowing large amounts of foreign players in their leagues
