  1. mackems 3 pts off relegation now.

Can you honestly see 3 of Portsmouth, Hull,Burnley,Bolton,Wigan, wolves finishing above them because i certainly dont

Sure I heard that several imes last season relating to us and look what happened.

    So, so true ...

  2. Gudjohnsen had a medical at West Ham tonight, however Spurs are looking to hijack the deal and have been in contact with the player and his father (agent).

Benni McCarthy has agreed terms with West Ham, medical in the morning.

Benjani subject of interest from Liverpool.

    Wor David Craig, Sky Sports.

    I just don't get Spurs ...

  3. When Routledge went over to Villa his confidence was rock bottom and he was given no kind of assurances I wouldn't imagine. In fact I'm pretty sure he was coming off an injury at the time.

We are getting him at a great time. He has been flying this season and is back to playing regularly and with confidence. I love you Brummie but take a leap of a high one buddy! You ain't getting me down about this one. He'll be good and he's still a better winger than Milner so there.

  4. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually wouldn't mind us playing 4-5-1 now.

    Think it's a big possibility.

We've now got great speed down both flanks, so those can be our outlets. We already have a number of big strikers who are at least average at holding the ball up a bit. Most importantly our top scorer is a legless midfielder who doesn't do enough in the middle of the park, but is a threat in the opposition's box and so he ought to be getting as far forward a s possible.

We almost have no other choice!

  5. Maybe our new striker will be Pancrate! Does he not play up front too. He sort of looks like Harewood I guess.

Routledge doesn't have an attitude problem per say, but he will sulk if he feels he isn't being given a fair chance to play. It's why he didn't do too well at Fulham and Villa, as he wasn't really a first team member.

I do think Hughton is a straight talking sort though. Hell he's managed to convince Butt to sit on that bench and be quiet! I could really see Routledge flying with Hughton as manager, besides Routledge should be one of the first names on the team sheet anyway.

  6. This is just awesome. Very very encouraging stuff.

I remember saying on here a while back that he is a better winger (note: WINGER) than James Milner. Hopefully he can now prove me right.

Have bumped into him around my way a few times and he seems a pretty low key guy. Was very young when he left Palace for Spurs, and he started off very brightly there before getting a long term injury, which then gave Lennon his chance. Tottenham were pretty harsh with him (see other youngsters i.e. Boateng, Kaboul etc) when he returned and didn't really give him a chance. He was pretty down about it and it's taken him a while to get back on his feet now.

Very exciting player, especially when he is happy and confident. I think he will really like playing for Hughton, who is a calm sort and who is very loyal to his players.

He'll be great for the team imo.

  7. I don't see Vaughan as being that much better than the 4 we have.

I know he has pace but we're hardly likely to use it tbh.

Pace causes problems though and it's important to have that option upfront. Loven has bags of it, but he can be pushed around a bit easily at times. Would be good to have another option to Loven.

I definitely see what you're saying though, as far as being unable to use a strikers pace consistently in this team. We are useless at it. However, it still can get us out of trouble every now and then, if only to cause defenders to slip up even. Vaughan does a good bit of hustling and closing down too, as opposed to Harewood, and so I think it could be a good move.

  8. Well we may very well want Moyes to tie up that Beckford signing as he has apparently bid for him now. Otherwise I don't see them letting Vaughan go.

If we can come out of this transfer window with Williamson, Vaughan and Perch (hope we are still interested) we would have done very well in this window. Williamson is a big strong defender which we lack, Vaughan is a strong and fast striker which is a combination we currently lack up front and Perch's versatility would be vital.

    Fingers crossed ...

  9. We should try for Jonathan de Guzman. Unsettled at Feyenoord and only half a year left on his contract. Feyenoord is skint, and will probably take any money they can for him. The player was recently coveted by bigger clubs (like Valencia), but seems to have been forgotten due to an injury ravaged first half of the season. Now back to fitness and still a good, young, dynamic midfielder. Dunno if he'd come here in our present state, but why not try and see what happens..?

Wow ... he really used to be seen as a big time talent, but things have certainly gone quiet with him.

Definitely one to target in the summer if we go up.

  10. 20.49  Newcastle United have again being linked with a move for Malmo's Edward Ofere.

He's bad. A bad version of Ameobi.

    WOAH!

A bit more detail please! That sounds very harsh and scary as hell!

Is he good at anything? ... I mean damn! A bad version of Shola

  11. Hughton maintained we were going to get a defender and a striker to replace Harewood and Khiza if they left. Khiza joined Reading and Harewood is crocked.

Williamson looks to be a goer and so it will be interesting to see who the striker we bring in will be. Judging by the type of player Harewood is and the fact we were after Beckford, it appears we are after a striker with presence and pace. Not the easiest sort to find.

I know Ofere is 6ft3 and he seems to be somewhat fast from the clips I have seen of him, however I have no idea what type of player he is. We need a more detailed breakdown from one of the euro dudes!

Williamson is all but off, and Ofere is according to the resident Swedes f***ing s**** and not even good enough for the Swedish league.

Calm down buddy it'll work out.

  12. Is Kalu Uche not playing today?

Becnhed for being rubbish against Egypt. Same with Taiwo. We could've used both today.

    Not good ...

I have to say though I feel like Chelsea have ruined Obi Mikel. He used to be so much more of a creative player who opened things up when he was younger and with the under 21s.

Now he's just a sort of an okayish holding midfielder type. Pretty annoying. Doesn't get forward nearly as much anymore.

Obi's fine in my view. Poblem is that he's playing with two DM's. He pretty good going forward, but nowhere good enough to be the only attacking threat from midfield or from the fullbacks. We need to open up.

    Hmmmm ...

Okay. Well in that case I don't see why they have benched Kalu Uche then. He played in midfield with both Obi and Etuhu against Benin and I though he looked decent and opened up some opportunities for that hippo Yakubu who didn't take advantage. Just so frustrating. Need to build confidence for the world cup.
