There has been somewhat of a breakout this season for England strikers, and I think it would be crazy to take a step back by re-introducing this has been to the team now. He's been out of the frame internationally now for so long that it really would be pointless. He plays once every three/four games for Man U for goodness sake.
Defoe, Bent and Carlton Cole have had very impressive starts and really have been outstanding. Heskey was involved throughout qualifying and Capello knows what he will get from him and considers him to be very valuable. Crouch has consistently performed for England for a good while now. Then you have the likes of Agbonlahor and Walcott who can be very dangerous of the bench late in games when defenders start to tire, with their pace and unpredictability.
Taking Owen would be a silly move imo.

Shola looks quite fat.
Good goal though.
I thought I was seeing things just then. How rotund was he looking just then?! Woah!

This Nicky Butt thing really is frustrating ...
-
Butt taking our corners.
Now that is just uncalled for.
Loven should be taking those.
-
I can just about stomach Nicky Butt being in there now we are actually starting Jonas, Pancrate and Lovenkrands, as these three should be able to more than make up for his uselessness with their pace movement and bit of creativity. Just make sure Butt sits back alongside Smith and stays well out of the way.

All this fuss about Owen when the real story was Obertan. Looking a major steal for Man United.
-
How unbelievably lazy is Harewood. We should start Carroll and Loven upfront with Ranger the first striker off the bench.
Harewood just goes through the motions out there. No sense of urgency whatsoever. Physically he has some great tools but talk about a lack of desire, heart or fight. My goodness.

In a season when Defoe and Bent are doing what they are in the premier league you still have these thick pundits going on about taking Owen to the world cup. It is absolutely laughable.
England are going to have some amazing options this summer with Rooney, Bent, Defoe, Crouch and Heskey. Take these five and they are in very very good shape.

This is a pretty positive move I think. Good stuff.
I think Mike Ashley's vision of Newcastle was always to go for these kinds of signings or cheap young players, both of which do not have a large transfer fee. With a manager in place who is more amenable to this it will be interesting to see how it works out.
-
Have you seen the hangers on that surround this guy? Believe me they're getting all they can from him.
-
Duff's soft effort when through on goal and Keane's unbelievably poor decision to try and round the goalie in a one on one position proved to be absolutely massive.
-
What a motherfucker Henry is. Absolutely filthy thing to do, and then to run off celebrating like that?! Laughable.

just hope he aint guna b another brambel or bassong
1) Pancrate plays on the wing, or upfront.
2) Bramble and Bassong were defenders.
3) Bassong and Bramble had totally different scales of success when they were here, so grouping them together makes no sense at all.
4) Both of those players cost us a transfer fee.
5) "guna b"
6) "brambel"
if anyone else can find anything else wrong with that rather baffling post, feel free to add to that list.
7) Just
8) ain't

The whole Lua Lua thing is disgraceful really. No reason why he shouldn't have at least made more appearances this season. Even if it's just off the bench.
I think there is a bit of hesitation because of his size, but I don't think that's fair at all. Give the guy a chance to prove he isn't up to it before holding him back for whatever reason. I've seen very little of him, but I've always been intrigued. On the whole I haven't seen anything to suggest he isn't good enough.

The man has no shame ...

Decided to keep the club and push for promotion with Hughton as manager is my bet.
Bingo!
What a motherfucker.

He says he still looks out for our results.
Guilty conscience.
-
One of the good things about Hughton is that he's willing to make changes if needs be.
He definitely doesn't just leave things as they are when they don't work in the previous game, and I for one appreciate that.

Actually happy with that team. With Taylor having to drop into right back due to Simpson going central we've had no delivery into the box from out wide, so Geremi is a good idea. Guthrie and Smith in centre mid also gives us the most mobility we can have in there.
-
So how screwed are Man U now? Rooney is now injured and the guy they brought in to fill in managed to get injured yet again even before Rooney did. Predictable as anything.
Owen will be discarded next summer and they'll likely get another striker in who can at the very least not get injured all the time.

Villa can't afford to have Milner in the starting lineup week in and week out if they want to challenge the top 4. The same goes for Sidwell. They should be squadplayers. I can't understand why MON use Cuellar on the RB, when Beye clearly is a better player in that position.
Milner will be in trouble when Downing gets fit that's for sure. Unless MON decides to play Downing through the middle alongside Petrov, which he might do I guess.

I think it is now blatantly obvious that everyone was scared out of their wits about the possible £25 million settlement for Keegan. None of us could have imagined he was suing for anywhere near that offer. Due to their disgraceful behaviour, Ashley and co. and everone else knew it was a possibility Keegan would get that much too! I expect the sale to go through now this is out of the way.

So I'm sitting here watching this match and finding it hard to believe that someone who frequents this board has claimed Dunne is the worst defender in the premiership. Absolutely laughable really. Not to mention this same person has claimed Darren Bent was incapable of playing upfront with a strike partner and he could only play alone upfront ... I'm not even sure what that is supposed to mean.
Also, Milner is still unspeakably average. I mean seriously ... the guy is almost painful to watch the majority of the time.
Then you're borderline retarded. What bit of that is hard to understand?
Wow Dunne's having a good game, what does that prove?
Why resort to personal insults? I'll tell you why ... it's because you're feeling a bit embarrassed about the silly claims you made in the first place. Retarded? Really? Please ... that's weak.
Darren Bent is arguably the most in form striker in the premiership this season and has been outstanding alongside both Kenwyne Jones and Fraizer Campbell. Just because he was leaving Tottenham you tried to make out he wasn't that good and he could only play upfront alone, which is such a silly thing to say really.
You claim Dunne is the worst defender in the premiership ... I mean I don't even have to say anything else to that. It's that silly. Check out their defensive record and get back to me. He is well above the average level of centre backs in the league. It's an outrageous claim on your part.
I'm feeling embarrassed?
I made the Dunne comment before last season had started and what happened? he proceeded to have one of the worst performances of any cb in this league. What's weird is that you were strangely quiet about Dunne when he was having shocker after shocker, and one good game a whole season after and you're boasting about it
Btw i think i said Dunee was one of the worst cb's in the league.
As for Bent....why do you constantly feel the need to twist things to prove a point? I've been saying for ages on here that Darren Bent can't play in a partnership (ever since Berbs was around). I'm sure the more honest posters on here will back this up, so please don't try and make it out like i only said it when he was leaving
As for the statement itself, it quite probably was our style of play that was holding him back but he didn't gel with either Keane, Berbatov, Defoe or Pav. Add to that he didn't play with a partner at Charlton and looked poor playing with another striker whenever he was called up for England. Sunderland are a more direct team than we are so i guess that system suits him more. I probably was to hasty dismissing his ability to work in a partnership though but i still believe he plays better when he works the channels and is the furthest forward (btw i'm not even 100% sure he is actually playing in a standard 4-4-2 partnership with Jones at Sunderland).
The difference between me and you is i admit when i'm wrong. You say f*** all when you're being proven wrong week after week then show up when the player your backing has a good game.
Which Dunne shockers was I quiet about? Dunne is a good solid defender who makes the odd mistake and not even frequently. I really don't understand where you are coming from with Dunne.
What was I wrong about though? I actually don't have a problem with being proved wrong if I make a claim that is dodgy. I just found your Dunne and Bent claims that shocking that everytime I see them play I can't help but remember really.

Precisely. Still is horribly average as a winger in my eyes. However, through the middle, his strongest assets, which are his workrate and his shooting, are really paying dividends for him. Also looks like he is pretty good at threading a through ball too to be fair to him. He has always been a hard worker so really can't fault his success. Well done.
