Let us just imagine for a moment that we land Taiwo and Poulsen in this window ...
How freakin' awesome would that bve.
If only eh?

I know it's tribal football. Just thought it would be entertaining to talk about.
If you thought that was even remotely far fetched check this one out ...
Juventus hardman Poulsen in Newcastle sights30.12.08 | tribalfootball.com
Juventus midfielder Christian Poulsen is interesting Newcastle United.
The Denmark international only moved to Juve in the summer from Sevilla, with the transfer being criticised by Italian pundits.
Newcastle United boss Joe Kinnear is desperate to add steel to his midfield and has Poulsen on his radar

Newcastle rival Man City for Marseille's Taiwo
30.12.08 | tribalfootball.com
Newcastle United are launching a bid for Olympique Marseille fullback Taye Taiwo.
Toon boss Joe Kinnear is desperate to find a new left-back and French sources say Nigeria international is a top target.
Taiwo has already declared this month ambitions of moving to England and is also wanted by Manchester City.

We really need to start getting linked with some central midfielders tbh.
Can't even begin to imagine who we might be able to go for in this area.
-
Kevin Doyle is class.
If we sold Owen and brought him in I wouldn't flinch one bit.
-
Some excellent points fom Chi towns very own Shearer.
-
I really like Roy Hodgson.
Good British manager with top experience all over Europe.
Very surprising how he was never considered for decent jobs in this country for ages.
With the likes of Allardyce getting hired ahead of him.
Sigh ...

Arrys honeymoon is over!!!
Farcical.

I think this news is positive because he has shown his hand prior to the transfer window opening.
He didn't have to come out with this and could have used the selling of the club as an excuse not to invest in the team.
This announcement today essentially means that he has to invest in the team this January and failure to do so will leave him looking very silly.
At this moment in time this is good for the club and I am somewhat confident that it means that the team will be improved in January.

Viduka torn groin ...
Bloody useless this man.
-
It's the first game they've started together this season isn't it? Bit harsh to judge when like I said, it was no worse than Martins/Ameobi in the Sunderland match.
I know. It came out a bit harsher than I intended.
Just having a little dig. However, I do not think there is any hope for the partnership at all even if they played a 100 games going forward.

Rivetting stuff ... {$default_roll_eyes_smiley}
Whose dream lineup was this again? Optimisitc Nut right?
Pathetic stuff really.
You're a f*cking goon. What strikeforce anywhere could have done anything with the service they got today? The full-backs offered nowt until the last 10 minutes, Duff & Gutierrez's service was shocking, Butt's passing was dire, and Guthrie was the only one who had even a half decent game.
Were we any better or worse in today's 2-1 than we were in the Sunderland & Fulham ones where Ameobi & Martins played? Was there f*ck. You're a prick.
Bet you would have been on here waxing lyrical if they had each sccored three though right
You talk as though the service has been so fantastic all season. It hasn't. However, despite this Martins still made things happen when he was out there.
Come on man! You've been harping on about Owen and Viduka being our best possible partnership! I was always going to stick it to you wasn't I
Oh and another thing ... if they were so good they would be able to manufacture some sort of chances irrespective of the service provided.
Horrible partnership.

How inappropriate is Charlie with all of this? So random.
I wouldn't be surprised if this interview actually took place a few weeks back before he broke into the first team.

Urby Emmanuelson rumoured to be coming to us according to a Dutch site
Please no. Very overrated.
I was going to say, while I've not seen him regularly he was never a cut above and the fact no big teams took a gamble on him seemed to speak volumes.
I'm pretty sure he's good enough for us though.
So he's not the best in the world?
He'll be solid competition for Enrique.

Xisco did have the best goal per minute ratio in la liga last season supposedly.
Can't hit a barn door according to JFK.
Really?
-
I wouldn't be disappointed if we brought him in and moved Owen on in January.
Me too.
-
Juanito in Cacapa out fair enough.

Reports emanating from France suggest PSG could agree a swap deal for N'Zogbia with Mamadou Sakho heading in the opposite direction.
I'd take that.
Interesting. Would make sense.
-
Yeah, I think this is fabricated.
Bassong article implies Zoggy is very happy here.
-
I think he's made his decision, he's just delayed telling us. Off in the summer on a free, probably abroad to a CL club
Owen made it pretty clear that he will never play abroad again when he returned from Real Madrid. His options are Premiership clubs.
As the training times abroad clashed with the afternoon racing.
-
Adriano of Inter available on loan apparently.
-
In my opinion Owen is just waiting to see whether we have any ambition. If we buy some quality in Jan and go on a good run and maybe get into a Uefa cup spot then he may very well decide we are on the up and decide to stay.
However,if as expected we bring in a couple of no mark loan signings and some average championship quality players, and then sell the likes of N'Zogbia and Taylor, then he will see the club lacks ambition, especially in light of Milners sale, and he will go anywhere but stay at SJP. As he has already said, it's not about the money. The unspoken word is that it is about the club tangibly demonstrating their ambition.
-
Wow. Interesting.
So all things considered if Man City come in with a £10 million bid in January, and they might very well be desperate enough to do so, what do you think we ought to do?

Considering at the time we had no left back, no right back, a central defence of Taylor and Bramble, no decent central midfielders and a £100,000 a week striker who was always injured, I'm sure Ronaldinho would have been the answer to all of our problems.
Would have been an absolutely insane purchase and I stand by that completely. It would have made me very sick.
