I'm super relaxed. I honestly feel the club is in control. I think we have enquired about a ton of players and not necessarily firmed up our interest in them, but of course this allows agents and clubs to use us to their advantage. I'm just enjoying discussing any links and just waiting to see what happens. The absolute worst case scenario is that we make unimpressive signings and we finsh midtable. If this happens then the owner will then have to decide to spen more money or sell to someone who will. No big deal. I don't think we are at all in danger of getting relegated this season so why fret? Besides I am still very confident the board are hard at work and will bring in good players on contracts that are healthy for the financial state of the club. We might not know these players that well, but we have some good people working to identify them and so I am not too worried about their quality. People relax.

Frings over Butt anyday... We should be looking to replace Butt with someone younger though, not 32. Frings would no doubt want a two-year contract which means we'dd be stuck with him until he was 34. Why is it, that anybody does not want a well balanced squad, when it comes to ages? Only well-balanced teams are winning titles...everywhere! With our new policy, we might have to wait another 5 years (at least) to reach the top 4. Don't say that I don't like the youth policy, but we still need experienced players, which are willing to play and win. Frings fits in this category if you ask me... Yeah Butt there is no point having him AND Nicky.

32?!!! Forget that. Good point about the wages too. Would have to be very high I would imagine.
-
Wow ... how old is he again? Probably looking at getting a younger DM to be fair as we have a more experienced one in Butt at the moment. He's crap but Kev values his experience and prem experience more specifically. However, left to me I would get Frings and toss Butt out pronto.

Another player I really wanted when he first left Liverpool. However, to my shock we didn't go for him. At the time we had Babayaro and Ramage playing at left back! Warnock is a really good left back who quietly goes about his business. Made the England team under Capello too don't forget.

No evidence we were actually really in for him calm down. You guys take this stuff way too hard. We all had a bit of fun with it now move on. Matias Fernandez should be nailed on now anyway for £8m or whatever we should have snapped their hand off, one of those players who could have taken us up the table, really made the difference. I'm not starting to panic or owt but this pre-season reminds me of the Roeder regime, stinking of amateurishness

At the end of the day if we are so willing and able to turn these guys down based on their wages then we must have a ton of other options who we feel we can go for instead. Still not fretting the situation at all.

http://soulhonky.com/candanny/basketball-2003-allstar-desmond.mason-dunk-lean%5B1%5D.jpg ? Just saw this Desmond Mason is class, though. Never fulfilled his potential, but he's fun to watch. His lack of a jump shot killed him. Still got a good first step and attacks the rim though, as well as playing good defense.

That Darren Bent for £16 million deal was jsut a phenomenal piece of theft by Charlton. Especially as they got the stingy Spurs to cough it up. If you compare keane to Bent that £18 million starts to sound too little!

Well he does have a phenomenal turn of pace to be fair to the lad ...

Don't worry Shola is coming ...

For a striker who's scored 20+ goals for the last 3 seasons running? And is his country's leading goalscorer ever? That's the going market rate. (Fwiw, I think Keane is a fantastic player and would love to see him at Newcastle, not that it's ever going to happen.) Fair point, but nearly 20 million quid for Keane, jesus wept. Robbie Keane is a fascinating player. Put him in an average team like Middlesborough and he is never worth £18 million. But put him in a team with Torres and Gerrard and he might very well be worth that much. He is excellent when he is alongside very good players, but cannot necessarily carry a poorer team. His partnership with Berbatov has been special and it might even be better with Torres.

Good. Not one of these that wants to go somewhere for the weather. It is part of their work and you adjust and adapt.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/manchester_united/article4345285.ece No one's really talked to much about this yet, but I agree with Sneijder. Ronaldo's life would be very uncomfortable at Madrid as his teamates would indeed not be very reeptive to him under the circumstances. He would never have the same level of comfort and confidence to perform at the same level as he has at Manchester United where he has become the face of the team and their leading man who can do no wrong. RVN would start having a go at him again after to many step overs and not crossing the ball on time and the likes of Raul, Robinho, Sneijder etc will probably be in his ear too. Would be a stupid move for him it really would. Wait till all those guys start fading in the next three years or so and then go.

Aye, it was fun. Enrique deserves a ban then imo.
-
Interesting. Could we have a link for this Jol interest? Don't remember it at all.
-
I don't know if we are really going for him, but his response is in no way negative. He's saying exactly what he should as nothing has gone through yet and so he is focused on his Hamburg career.

I understand your concern, but having witnessed the Messiah essentially raise Nazareth from the dead anything is possible. If Keegan could get Owen going again, breath some life into Geremi's legs and bring some sense of direction to Butt's passes then I am very hopeful. Never underestimate a positive manager when it comes to things like injuries and a loss of form. If Allardyce was signing him I wouldn't be anywhere near as optimistic. you mean Lazarus? http://www.southsomerset.gov.uk/media/image/a/9/toolkit-cov2_1.jpg Kaka & friends. New name same crap persona.

Let's start a new rumour if this goes pear shaped... Apparently Big Mike is stepping on Benfica's toes so that they agree to sell us Cardozo. Then we will "step aside" and allow them to sign Aimar. Therefore even if we don't get Aimar it will only mean Cardozo is coming.

Being themanupstairs you would notice that wouldn't you. Sorry big man. P.S. could you push the Aimar deal through pronto. Cheers. Amen.

Look at page, 99 i think. And the reported interest in Xabi Alonso today seems to be bs but if it was true dont think i would be too upset. Gilberto going to Panithanikos aswell today... Out... Flamini Lehmann Hleb Gilberto Adebayor? In... Ramsey Nasri How can an Arsenal fan ever worry about anything to do with transfers? Believe me with all those players going you should be more excited than anything else as he will only bring in better players anyway!
-
And yet no one is dead or anything. What do you want to talk about then? Legitimate transfer stories would be a good start, maybe ones with a good source to back them up. Where is this one from? Sun, Mirror, or maybe Tottenham Hotspuds very own Daily Mail... ! Okay ... well when you find one let us know. In the meantime we'll be in here. You can wait outside.
