We'd obviously have a chance (provided the top four don't come sniffing), but these goals tonight won't help us. If nothing else, they'll add a few million onto the asking price. Has he been named in France's Euro 2008 squad? Likely he will be after that debut (added to the squad that is). At the very least he would be a heck of a player to bring off the bench if they are chasing the game. I don't think they have any other striker like him at the moment who is big and strong. The closest thing is probably Trezeguet and he's been left out completely.

Wow ... just seen the goals now. Absolutely depressing. The man looks like a freakin beast of a player. Powerhouse striker. You can certainly see the Drogba comparisons. And to think he is only 22! God his potential could be frightening. Like Baggio said good spot by our guys anyway. Ah well.
-
Just seen the goals. To repeat were not going to get anywhere near him. Shit. This is really frustrating.
-
Now, if we miss out on this guy I'll be fine with it, just about. Life goes on etc. But I swear if we sign Peter Crouch instead for the stupid prices being bandied about I will lose it.
-
Very Drogbaish goals from the sound of things, so the next Drogba hype will no doubt go into overdrive now, attracting all kinds of interest. Yup, we're screwed.

Oh man ... yet more stories of fractions and discord. We need a positive sign from somewhere , this is doing my head in.

Emana, whose father Marco also represented Cameroon, is certainly not resting on his laurels. In fact, the youngster knows better than anyone that he has a lot of improving to make if he is to fulfil his potential. “After every match I ask to see the clips of my actions again on the video,” said the Yaoundé-born star. “The club usually give me a cassette on the Sunday morning and I watch it on my own back at home. There’s no time to relax for top-level sportsman. I live and eat football and if I could watch the video straight after the game I would.” At the start of the 2004/05 season Emana was unsettled and uncertain that his future lay at the Stadium Municipal. He holds no grudges against Toulouse for blocking his move to PSG, though admits that the summer of 2004 was a difficult period. “My grandmother died in June, then the club wanted to hold talks straight after,” he explained. “It wasn’t easy to get through but my family and my girlfriend have stood by me. I’m more relaxed now and I can feel that when I’m on the pitch.” Emana is fully focused on football matters again and continues to work hard to achieve his goal: becoming one of the finest players in the world. “I’m never satisfied,” said the midfielder. “I can’t yet say I’m among the top players in the world. “My aim is to be able to cross the ball like David Beckham, to have the power of Ronaldo, to possess the same finesse as Zinedine Zidane, and to have the dribbling skills of Ronaldinho.” The young Cameroonian may still have some work to do, but if he continues to progress at the same rate, he could be a major threat to Ligue 1 defenders for years to come. http://www.channel4.com/sport/french_football/focus/emana.html Looks like he has a fantastic attitude and mindset, which is always good.

I have to say I agree with you completely coach. I personally love the idea of taking a punt on a few of these guys, especially as they cost next to nothing. Beckford from the little I have seen of him appears to have some impressive attributes, especially considering his height and stature. In Keegan we also have a manager who excels in getting the best out of people especially when it comes to instilling some confidence in them and so it would suit us quite well. Not saying we should sign him, but I don't think these types of players should be dismissed so quickly. That goal he scored for Scunthorpe that won goal of the season was unbelievable and Christiano Ronaldo would have been very proud of a goal like that. Outrageous skill.

Yeah, but that was before we knew what we were missing out on! We've been spoiled.

Probably means we will be holding on to the likes of Alan Smith, Duff and Shola this summer. I'm ecstatic!!!

Not really, I'd say it harms the top 4 more than anyone else. well say it was in use this season, that means that 120 of the starting players would have to be english, 24 of which would be playing in the top 4. while barry, bently and such can just about be kept by villa and blackburn now, they'd be guarenteed first team football in the top 4, so would be off in a flash. the top4 would really need an english player for every position, and a couple others, so thats say 14, so we could end up with a situation where the 56 best english players are at top 4 clubs, leaving the rest of us to scrape the bottom of the barrell. england has a smaller area than the other european main leagues to capture players, so it would affect us the worst. and the value of an enlgish player, already overvalued, would take another hike. you look at how lower league teams struggle to keep promising youngsters now, how bad will that problem be then? i assume players like geremi would be ok, as he has english citizenship i think, after being in the country for 5 years. this could lead to exactly what uefa detest, big teams poaching players from the youth systems of smaller sides, and if english clubs managed to do this early enough, they could poach young italians at age 14 who would be english citizens by age 19, and would, i think then be able to play for our national team? (see cudicini). it fucks up the top 4 as well, but they'll just react buy buying all the good english talent out there, and we'll be f***ed. Exactly! With all the good English players gone to the top 4 and with other clubs being forced to feature so many English players they would all be stuck with some extremely average players in their first teams. Fancy having to play someone that is average or just sucks just because they are British?! Even worse is the fact that this will make British youngsters even lazier as they will be even less motivated to really push themselves to make it. They will only do so much knowing they had a place set aside for them automatically.

Somewhere on Tyneside Taylor and Milner celebrate wildly ...

Frustration ... KD is on here enough to know that peopel are on edge right now. The last thing anyone wants to hear about is how Dunne isn't good enough for Spurs. Honestly, the cheek of the man. Begging for tongue lashing imo. Isnt good enough for spurs? stop putting words in my mouth. I dont want Dunne because (as i mentioned before), a dunne-woodgate partnership wouldnt work imo. They dont compliment eachother one bit, and a pacey striker would have a field day. You think Woody and Dunne are similar players? Alrighty then ... Woody has more than enough pace by the way, and they would in fact compliment each other quite brilliantly. There you go putting words in my mouth again (you just cant help yourself can you). With Kings injury record, we need a more pacey cb to compliment Woody. Im sure you're remembering the Woodgate of old (newcastle days), but at spurs he's been shown up for his lack of pace a few times (altough he's been very good altogether). Technically Woodgate is on another level to Dunne but their lack of pace will see them get caught out imo. Oh and cheers James Fair enough, I thinky you're wrong though. So if you do sign Dunne and he and Woodgate form a great partnership don't go changing you're name to Kingdunne or anything silly like that.

Neither is trolling so fuk off. Trolling?. Do you need to involve yourself in everything? do you get off on it or something? Yes you are a troll. Involved in everything? What posting on a forum about the team i support? What's your excuse? Ermmmm isnt everyone else here a Newcastle fan (bar a select few). No one except your sad self CONSTANTLY tries to have a go , or involves themselves in things for no apparant reason. Did you get the sack or something? What's the name of this particular thread?? I posted my opinion on a matter involving spurs so hit some weights little man . KD you are pretty irritating to be fair. You'll be the first one one here talking about how Dunne is the best defender in the league after he has a couple of decent games for you. Just chill out. Sorry TT, Kaka is another one that seems to try and have a go too (altough his subtle and diplomatic tone in this particular post may say otherwise) You said this before (bigging up Woodgate after a few games) but most people on here knew i wasnt doing what you tried to imply so they called you out on it (i'll dig up the thread if you want). As for little man (tt), Iv'e said time and time again that i dont want Dunne so whats the big deal? am i suddenly meant to change my tune and 'big him up' just because some of you want him at Newcastle? get over yourself ffs. I have grown accustomed to you I guess. I used to think you were a major WUM, but have since realised you just can't help yourself. Just think before you post stuff or try to do a better job of expressing your thoughts. Some of the stuff you "share " with us you might want to keep to Spurs messageboards.

Someone's got to pay Samir Nasri's wages right?

Hmmm ... kind of dissapointing to hear. So many young british players seem to get held back by this attitude unfortunately. The guy was on Chelseas books at one point wasn't he? But somehow ended up in non-league football before making it back into League one. If only more of these guys had the right attitude. When you look at someone like Theo Walcott you just know it is likely to work out really well for him because he just seems to have his head on right.
