Look ... fuck Gomis and any other arrogant French players that think they are better than playing for Newcastle. Fuck em all.
-
I find this quite annoying tbh. The club should have addressed this by now and should have some info for us regarding all of this, without letting the media break the news first and therefore putting their own agenda first i.e. Newcastle upheaval etc etc bollox, which will no doubt follow shortly.

ha ha ha ha Oh so now people are claiming Beye was no good and that is why we were able to get him? Wow! Judging from his performance this season I would say that that is rubbish. Lots of people taking shots at Newcastle right now and I am very confident that they will pay for this when the season kicks off. If this Gomis guy is really this arrogant then he can quite frankly piss off. He is a nobody right now and has achieved nothing yet in his career. All he has done is score some goals for freakin' St. Etienne. I can't wait for next season. I will love it, absolutely love it when we finish higher than freakin' Spurs and the likes.

Some world class WUMS on here. All this talk and yet we managed to get one of the best defenders in France to our club last summer. We'll see what the situation is like come the end of the summer.

Lets see how good Avram is. Essien obviously can't continue at right back against Ronaldo. Move him into the middle and get Makelele off. Put Bridge on at right back if necessary. Also put Anelka on for Malouda who has been unspeakably awful, what a wretched waste of £17 million.

Bingo. The likes of Modric and Turan appear to be this type of player so it looks like this is what Keegan might have in mind.

Not good enough for Stoke and so not good enough for us

Milner? From that youtube clip I see someone with more awareness and subtlety than Milner has ever shown imo. Looks like he has more class. He creates space for himself to deliver the ball and shoot it far more effectively. All Milner does is that step over which really doesn't get him by anyone, but hey it looks fancy I guess. Even worse is that he just does it to do it, as he doesn't use it at the right times a lot of the time. A lot of times he will try to do it when he is too close to his defender who just pokes a leg out to knock the ball away and send Milner sprawling. Contrary to popular belief Milners lack of ability to get into dangerous positions is due less to his lack of pace and more to his lack of know how. Prime example is Bentley who is no quicker than Milner and might actually be slower. However, he has some delightful little cut backs and feints that get him into enough space to be a threat and cause problems for the other team. Bentley is another player who just has more class and know how. I don't really want to get into Milner bashing mode, but let's just say I don't rate him that much. Besides i think Turan will play in our diamond midfield anyway.

Tottenham can keep chasing/signing these types of midfielders all they want. We'll see how strong they are in midfield next season. At the end of the day they can't sign them all. We'll get in some good players for sure. Have to say I have been very impressed with the players being identified by our new team of scouts. It looks like this guy is a legitimate talent and no one knew too much about him till he waslinked with us. So many potentially great young players out there. We will definitely be alright. I'm certainly a big fan of this new policy. It is very exciting.

He's incredibly underrated, if you ask me. They went to s**** after he got injured against us (although I realise there were other things that played big roles in their dip in form). Arsenal got no credit this season whatsoever. I though they had a great season considering the losses of Eduardo, Sagna, Van Persie and Rosicky for very long periods. Not to mention the ACN denying them of Toure and Eboue for a good amount of time also.

People talk a lot about South Americans and the adjustment issues, but honestly I'm not sure anyone else adjusts as well as they do and they go to all sorts of different countries in Europe and do well. Argentinians and Brazilians in particular are littered all over the place and are doing so well.

Ahh. Reading this all over atm. Im so happy. Quality player when ive seen him play has impressed. Ben Arfa, Yaya Toure and Richards in now and im happy Where would Ben Arfa fit in? Somewhere between Woodgate and Dawson as he bangs in the goals

It doesn't really mean anything, how many times have you heard someone is not for sale until the money is dangled in front of their face. Sounds like he just doesn't want to sell to Marseille but would prefer to sell Gomis abroad instead.

Rangers friendly part of the agreement for the Cuellar deal?

I finally found the magazine which shown the comparison: Kicker. A strange rating system, which 1 is the best, while 6 is the worst. Gomez Toni Teachnique 2.5 2.5 Future 1 2 Experience 2.5 2 Scoring Instinct 1.5 1 Teamwork 2.5 1.5 Importance 1.5 1.5 Professionalism 1.5 2 Pace 1 2.5 Heading 2 2 Fitness 2.5 3 Overall 18.5 20 I can see there is over hyping though. Interesting ... Having watched him play though, what could you tell us about his style of play?
-
All these FM games suck! I didn't realise you weren't even able to watch your team play the actual games. All you do is press a button to sim through every game? That's crap. Surely you ought to be able to watch the matches and see how the players perform? FM stinks. Rant over.

going off what i've read (only seen him play once and he never stood out) he is the full package. technique, pace, strength. acn go alone and bring others in and feed off. good in the air and on the deck. Damn ... sounds like a fitter, faster and stronger Viduka. Would be a dream come true for us.
-
So we know Mario is a physically imposing striker but what else? What are his good points. Does he hold the ball up well and bring others into play? Is his touch good? His vision? Is his technique good? Dribbling? Just because he is a big strong striker with pace does not automatically make him a grea player. Heskey had these attributes but he reall wasn't anything special. Can you tell us a bit more about Gomez?

Didnt they already have the new Drogba (Shola) on loan? : ) Nah, that guy they have on loan is the poor man's Ricketts.
-
Rather than risk a Gomez at this point, I believe Madrid are more likely to go after a Berbatov or Fabiano.
-
Very dependant on PSG's status. If they go down £4-4.5 if they stay up.£7-7.5 . PSG stayed up. Lens were relegated.
-
I think this is possible too. Big clubs more often than not tend to go for the 100% established players for the most part. For example if this guy were to have a phenomenal Euro 2008 I could then see them clamouring for him. However, right now I think we would be in with a chance. Berbatov was at Leverkusen for years and he was a known commodity but still there was that uncertainty, but they would all have him now wouldn't they?

9 pages and counting ... and they said this thread would amount to nothing. Give me more gentlemen, more!!! Feed my ego!!!

quite impressive what Ince has done mind. I was only fairly impressed up until I actually saw MK Dons play and I was stunned because they actually play some very good football and they got away with it and indeed dominated with it in the rough and tumble world of the lower leagues. That guy has serious potential. He's not just a shouter and motivator by any means, which is probably what I expected him to be due to his personality when he played.
