Joelinton can sometimes get caught on the ball in the centre and be a bit loose with his passing amidst the congestion in there. Willock is much tighter in those spaces having coming through at Arsenal and being used to that more intricate play. Roaming from out wide Joelinton ends up facing play more often, and can also afford more time on the ball as he has more space.
