    You still go in there?

Once the transfer window closes and the NBA season starts I'll be back in there!

Some really interesting rookies to watch this year. Which one did the Knicks get again?

We were linked back in June, and he scored the first goal against us in that friendly against them and maybe Howe liked what he saw throughout the game, and it convinced him like this reporter says.

He seems to be highly rated and has been linked this window with the likes of Dortmund and PSG, and started this season off really well too.

Interesting. This is the mediafoot article - https://mediafootmarseille.fr/newcastle-et-villarreal-sont-la-pour-ndombele-info-media-foot/

Now we're linked I had to go and look at his fbref numbers to see what it might be the club is seeing in him, and I was shocked at how good they were. Maybe the club sees some untapped potential that Spurs have mismanaged.

Based off being interested in top 6 players, would anyone take Ndombele from Spurs who is seemingly available? I’ve not seen much of him tbh but the bits I have he’s seemed good. Maybe @KaKa and @McCormick know more from

    his time in lyon ?

So talented but really inconsistent and can be so careless with the ball. Wouldn't go for him at all. He'd be very frustrating.

Given that we're likely to be pushing for a top half, maybe European place this year, and definitely looking to build to assault the top 6 in the coming seasons, I cannot imagine for a single minute that any of the top 6 will lend us anyone.

I mean there's nothing wrong with asking because you never know, I just hope we've got a better plan than that behind the scenes.

I think it would have to be a loan with an option attached.

They would do it if it was a player that they wanted to move on I assume.

I actually hoped that we would lose by the end. Thankfully I had the Warriors even during those poor two seasons, or I probably would have lost interest in sport.

Yeah, same. Couldn't bare seeing Bruce win games. Found it infuriating.

US sports was great. NBA and NFL were both key during the Ashley years.

He’s always been fine and one of the quality posters. More people could use his positive attitude.

Appreciate that man. It was tough under Ashley though. Really enjoying football again now, and watching so much more, and wondering what players we could possibly look at from other teams. Been so much fun.

Swear Kaka used to be a nutjob at one point like. Possibly my favourite footy chat poster nowadays

Mike Ashley brought the worst out of me man. Completely took my love for the game away. Could just about follow Newcastle results but couldn't watch any other football hardly. It's been a pleasure really getting back into it.

That would be amazing, where did they say that? Only thing I have seen in regards to Pulisic to NUFC is him being included in the TIFO sensible transfers video, which was a suggestion on their part based on data, rather than any source based link.

There's a new article up on The Athletic where they're taking questions on Newcastle and someone's asked about Pulisic, and they say if he's available it's a move that would be looked at. Apparently we've looked at a bunch of Chelsea players to varying degrees. With Pulisic it seems availability would be the issue.

However, there's now news this morning that he's unsettled at Chelsea, and Tuchel doesn't fully trust him.

As a Dane I saw him a lot for FC Copenhagen where he never impressed, which is also why they sold him to Sturm Graz in January. However, from the highlights I've seen from their games it seems that he has taken some giant steps forwards and made a few Haaland-esque goals.

Ah, that's interesting. From his clips his raw talent looks very impressive. As far as his size, speed and coordination at just 19 years old. Seems to finish with conviction too.

He looks incredibly intriguing I must admit, and I can't imagine Sturm Graz would be asking for any kind of crazy fee. It's an interesting link. We'll see how it all plays out.

  11. Reports that Pulisic is kicking up a fuss at Chelsea and Tuchel doesn't fully trust him.

The Athletic has also said Newcastle would look into a move for him if he's made available.

I can't think of anyone that would fit that wide forward role on the right better than Pulisic. Great age, Prem experience, pace, good finishing, dribbling ... I would be looking to test Chelsea with a bid for him right away.

  12. The Athletic has said that the young Danish striker, and true Haaland regen, who even has a similar surname - Rasmus Hojlund has been discussed and is on our list of young strikers.

The eerie thing about this guy is not just the similar last name, but he is also 6 ft 4, and is also left footed ... his play style also looks quite similar. He's very early into his career and so would probably be our best chance to get him, and not be too late like we were with Sesko. The question would be how effective he would be as a back up striker with so little experience. From the clips below his raw talent looks undeniable though!

And part of the reason for that was his consistency of playing players out of position. Wingers at full back, full backs at centre back and #10s/wingers at CM. Shuddering at the thought of watching that again.

Playing Miggy in a midfield three doesn't apply to what you're saying IMO.

Howe's setup and what he asks the two forward thinking central midfielders to do is infinitely different from whatever Bruce was trying to acheive.

He used both Anderson and Miggy in that role in pre season to good effect and they are both attacking midfielders.

Our lack of squad depth is really illustrated when there’s genuine suggestions for the likes of Almiron, Schar and Botman to play in a central midfield role, due to an injury.

    We need more quality.

I actually think that forward thinking central midfield role in a three might suit Miggy better, as he was more of an attacking midfielder than he was a winger prior to joining us. And he has the necessary discipline and work rate for that position.

I'm quite comfortable with Eddie deciding tbh.  It wouldn't surprise me if we saw a different system but not yet and if we do it will be against a club where he thinks the chances of winning are not optimal. Most of the time we will play our own game.

We're not talking about a different system, but about Miggy playing as an 8 in that midfield three, which I think he clearly can, as long as it isn't in Bruce's awful tactics or setups.

Even though it basically rules out any decent football for Everton, I think having Coady and Tarkowski at least allows them to defend properly.

They don't have the players to attempt to play football this year, so it looks as though they have gone for the defensive options.

It's grim but I can see the logic.

Coady's actually really good at distributing the ball from the back in a back three. Looks like Lampard is using that back three setup at Everton this season so it makes sense.

Wonder goal aside, Sarr is quite poor. Dennis completely invisible. Wish people would stop mentioning them as realistic targets.. we can do much better for much less money.

Based on this one game where the whole team was setup horrifically and couldn't even keep the ball?! Lawd have mercy!
