Who Are you trying to fool?

Thats Mike signings all the way.

I don't have to fool anyone.

You're already fooling yourself claiming those are Ashley signings.

West Ham been ‘close’ to signing a number of highly rated players. Are the Sullivan stringing the fans along to shift season tickets?

It looks very dodgy. These stories have been popping up for weeks now

Pepe on loan would be a decent signing IMO. Not sure what happened to him as he looked a world beater, but if he's hungry for a fresh start, I would much rather see him on the right than Murphy or Fraser.

    What did happen to him?

I don't know man ... maybe the big fee messed with his head? Honestly, when I watch him he just looks like he even struggles to control the ball at times. It's so weird.

The man scored 35 league goals over his last two seasons at Lille. That's bloody impressive. Just doesn't match up with the player I see at Arsenal.

If we haven’t signed anyone by deadline day I would take him on loan, he would be a last resort though if we literally couldn’t get anyone else.

Yeah, it's a tough one. I look at his record for scoring goals, outside of last season and it's decent ... but my God, I have seen that guy look absolutely shocking at times for Arsenal.

If the rumour is true, I get the impression we may really be focusing on someone that has done the business in the Prem previously, after not being able to get Diaby.

If so, I wish we'd look into bringing Matheus Pereira back from Saudi, as he was brilliant for West Brom his one and only season in the Prem.

  5. There's a Nicolas Pepe rumour knocking about ... thoughts? Arsenal are apparently desperate to move him on and it may end up being an initial loan.

Not sure how to feel about it, as I think he has looked so bad at times for Arsenal, and I have not been a fan at all.

His goal scoring record for them the season before last was decent though, with 10 goals, and he scored a lot of goals in France.

Arsenal supporting friend with a season ticket, says he just doesn't suit there intricate style of play, and would benefit from a less possession heavy style.

I don't know man ... I'd be very nervous about it initially.

Fernandinho played his first 20 minutes back in Brazil yesterday and got an assist, he's still fucking genius! We don't have this kind of midfielder in the BR League, he got some passes between the lines to his teammates that they received looking really surprised  [emoji38]

Fernandinho's assist for the 4th goal at 6:41, the 3rd goal at 3:43 is just amazingly ridiculous amazing game to have him back!

Great ball in from him. That Scolari on the bench? He looks well.

Quick question on Newcastle ... what's your thoughts on Igor Gomes at Sao Paulo? We apparently had scouts in Brazil watching him and Danilo. Noticed Gomes contract is up in March of next year, so is probably available for a decent price. Do you rate him?

One thing which is making these signings harder is we are looking at the younger market, which means there's a lot of competition, and the prices are obviously going to be sky high. When the takeover happened, I was actually looking forward to picking up some top class players more around the 29-30 yr old bracket as short term bridge buys, as clubs will let them go relatively cheaply to recoup a transfer fee while they can.  Pretty sure Man City and Chelsea did this, but of course they didn't have FFP to deal with.

I mean with a £50m budget you could quite feasibly buy to top notch forwards who are a bit older now. Asensio is what - 28? - and I think the fee bandied about was about £20m?

I think a lot of stuff is being made up, that makes it seem like things are really difficult for us.

Just a couple of days ago the media made it seem as though Broja was on the verge of joining West Ham and Kalimuendo was on the verge of joining Leeds, and we had lost out on both, and neither move has happened and are now being reported as being stalled.

If that Sekou Mara info is correct then we‘ve messed up and need to be less dogmatic about our approach

My gut instinct is that it isn't true. He was probably on the list of young strikers we were considering, but wasn't a priority.

No one this summer, including PSG (!), ever bid as much as we did for Ekitike. If we really had Marra as a priority, I doubt we would have been unwilling to stump up the £10 million or so Southampton look to be paying for him.

This is the transfer rumour thread though so what else is there to discuss in here other than the transfer rumours that are reported ?

It's not so much that it shouldn't be discussed, but just for folks not to let it get them in a panic.

I think discussions are being had and the club always goes into them with a value on a player, and if the selling club's value is much higher then the club looks elsewhere. I mean this is standard with all clubs.

But you know, the media are painting it all in a very negative light because info is scarce at the minute, and they were all expecting us to be 'the richest club in the world' and be spending like Man City and Chelsea do.

  10. I'm really not sure why people are believing all these reports that we're exasperated by prices and surprised by them, or that we're waiting for clubs to go bust to pick up players on a free.

There's no substance to any of it. Most of these journalists have to write something and because things are quiet that's the easiest route to go down.

How confident are you that we’ll get:

    CF

    RW

as a minimum because I think we need a dynamic central midfielder too.

I get that we are making bids however players have value and we seem to be always shooting lower than the perceived value of the entity.

it’s like going into Waitrose and offering lower than the value the seller wants , your always going to get a no. Just give the sellers what they need and get what we need. if that happened I’m sure we’d all be more content

I am confident we will get all three.

We are negotiating, as every club does, based on what the buying club perceives the value of the player to be. You don't base a players value on whatever the selling club determines it to be man. That's basic stuff! Ultimately they then meet somewhere in the middle or both parties walk away.

We will negotiate up until a certain point in the window, depending on how far in the window we are willing to go, and then will decide when we ultimately buy the players we are most happy paying for.

I’m actually probably more aware than you give me credit for however crack on!!

If that's true, then fair enough.

When all is said and done this window we'll have the players we need. Under MA and Charnley, we just made offers that wouldn't be accepted until the window closed and we got no one in, so not sure how the current ownership could ever compare to that.

    Christ....

Genuinely, reading figures like this make me appreciate financial prudence despite our takeover. Fucking mental.

Forest's approach to this windos is seemingly to spunk as much money as is fiscally possible and hope for the best.

They've made excellent value purchases on the whole, and were a team with a ridiculously low spend in place I imagine.

Hope for their sake the Lingard move isn't true. Not even because of the wages they're giving him, as he is on a free after all, but because if there's one person you don't want as your top earner by a significant margin, it's probably Jesse Lingard.

  14. 30 minutes ago, Yelevats said:

The concern has to be the fact we are still massively short in the front areas, not in respect of players but quality.

The message we keep getting knocked back with our initial bids is a trend now. Fees maybe higher however the trend isn’t much different to when Lee Charnley was negotiating. We used to low ball constantly in line with the perceived value.

As the richest club in the world surely this should not still be happening.

Okay, so the actual reality is you don't even know who we've bid for, or whether or not we've been knocked back, but carry on.

I honestly think most of the time we know before them.  They then look at here and twitter and post articles like they know, when they probably contact the press officer at the club and get no comment now.

Might be worth giving this guy a follow. From his account he seems to get a lot of RB Salzburg insider information.

He's already been exposed earlier in the thread of making stuff up. See his Camara from Salzburg tweet regarding Leeds.

It's all bullshit. Fucking hate it.

Lets see if Tuchel can actually pull it all together and how these players cope in the league.

It's all just names and big fees for now, and it's easy to get caught up in all of it. I personally am still very sceptical. They are all over the place.
