  1. Oh man ... Hope for their sake they put in a hefty release clause.

    Alexander Isak

The years we had the biggest losses will be dropping off the 3 year calculations, which will help alleviate things. Pretty sure that's how it works.

They were sceptical of the signing man and were going on about his goal record. His one good year in Spain was sandwiched between two single digit league seasons. I am surrounded by them lot and heard it all first hand over and over again. I had just seen him in the Euros for Sweden and thought he'd be great for them, and they were telling me otherwise.
  4. My prediction was Besiktas in Turkey, and so it seems he has at least exceeded expectations ... for now.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Seems quite a versatile attacker, as most scouting reports seem to have him as being able to play up top, left and right. Sounds like you've seen some of him in live action, any further info on his versatility? Looks like a real talent at just 18.

Ekitike and really moreso his agent, definitely mugged us off, but my God he is absolute quality. Arsenal are so dumb. He's really who they should be looking at. I agree he is a similar sort of profile to Isak, and on top of that he's French! So their Henry fantasies can truly be fulfilled!

Yeah, I agree. That's the whole point of good scouting! At some point you have to trust that work, but so many of the 'bigger clubs' are so fearful. Funnily enough Arsenal and Arteta opted for Jesus instead, because he was a known player in the league that Arteta had some familiarity with from Man City. They played it safe. Regarding PSR, we will be fine. The few years after the takeover we spent a fair bit without any sales and with very low revenue overall. PSR is on a rolling three years, and so those early years are now dropping off the calculations, and our revenue has since improved. Part of Mitchell coming in, was to get back to identifying quality gems for good value, and so we'll be getting back to that. Between Mitchell, Nickson and Howe it's going to work out really well IMO.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Read some report the other day saying we've been offered the chance to sign him for £16 million, and that he specifically wants Newcastle. Actually ended up watching some clips to see what he looked like, and if he ever featured on the right side. Looked pretty comfortable on both sides, which would be ideal. Seems to be highly thought of and is a bit of a wonderkid as they say.
  9. That link up was so good too! Bruno is so dangerous in tight spaces man. Has really helped alleviate that issue of teams sitting deep against us.

It was so funny man. They weren't even excited about him signing at the time. Certainly not from what I remember, and now, just so desperate. I take immeasurable joy in reminding all the ones I know, of how they were turning their noses up at the time, every time he scores.

    Joelinton

Yup. I have fully accepted Joe and all of his flaws. The yeoman's work this guy gets through all over the pitch is so easy to overlook. Now we have Tonali doing such a great job defensively in that deeper spot, we can get away with Joe being loose with things at times, as there is better cover back there. His wrecking ball presence clearly unsettled teams, and makes them uncomfortable. And so let Joe be Joe. Was really unlucky not to score yesterday too, I thought.
  12. Wasn't the greatest performance, but wanted to give him credit for yet another gorgeous through ball to Isak, that led to the penalty. Picked out another absolute gem of a pass though traffic yet again, like only he can.

There was a lot of talk that Arsenal were in for him the previous summer before we signed him, and it was all over the media. There was even photos of some car in London with an Isak custom license plate during the rumours he was set to sign. Arsenal fans have therefore decided that he was always theirs and will inevitably end up there, especially because he now wears the number 14 and has some similarities to Henry. It is altogether one of the most extraordinarily embarrassing episodes of desperate fawning over a player in footballing history. Especially because at the time he was being linked, loads of them didn't think he was good enough because 'he wasn't a goal scorer'. Purely based off of one season of stats in a pretty dull Sociedad side that didn't utilise his strengths. He will never end up there. He's done far too well, and if he opts for a new adventure at some point it will be at Real or Barca.

    Jacob Murphy

When Miggy leaves we really don't have to go too crazy now. Just find a younger talent with some experience that can back up Murphy. Minteh would have been well suited but ... you know. I saw some mention of us really liking Nuamah at Lyon. That would be the sort of profile that would work well.
  15. Loved the awareness to take advantage of the space in front of him after winning the header in the lead up to his goal. Runs right through and finishes so well at the near post after shaping to go the other way, making the goalie look silly!

He looks like he's really enjoying himself man. Love how we look to hit him early and are finding his runs in behind more and more. I watch the likes of Man City and Arsenal constantly ignore runs in behind from their forwards for that tedious slow build up and it does my head in. Think the way we play really suits him and I hope he recognises this, and when that massive contract is set out for him, he signs on the dotted line!

Nice to see an old school right footed right winger, add a different element to our attack. To think quite a few have been dead against playing a right footer out there. Still can be very effective, just like it was in the past.
  18. They always bring him on upfront for Jackson, and the guy starts dropping deep and drifting around everywhere. Neto was on the left and Madueke on the right.
  19. No matter how poor Jackson has been, this Nkunku never improves them when he comes on. Hardly ever runs in behind so they completely lose that threat. Doesn't really look as good playing upfront.
  20. For all the money spent this Chelsea side is so ordinary, flat and uninspiring.
  21. This Sanchez is a buffoon.
  22. Watch John Stones come in and do something daft as well.
  23. Man City passed up two chances to play Marmoush in behind there to his bemusement. Only to end up passing back to the goalie who kicked it out
  24. Pep is a psychopath. Why would he throw this young lad straight in? Doesn't look ready for the challenge of such a big game. He's just joined from Lens for goodness sake.
