Jumping the gun slightly I think. He's just turned the corner from being an absolute car crash signing, let him establish himself this season in this new position, then we can look at it in the summer. Although personally, I do think he has all the attributes to be a genuine PL midfielder.

Besides that he got a 6 year contract when he joined, and so still has 4 years to go.

Superb again. Reminds me of when Dembele was at Spurs

Yes, very similar change of position and result. Someone also mentioned Julio Baptista, which was another very similar kind of transformation.

Did not like Howe's description of Wilson's injury at all. Feeling a kick in the back of your leg when no one has touched you is the usual description of how it feels to tear your achilles.

Yeah, heard that a ton of times and it is typically the case. The way Wilson was also checking his calf after was what you also then typically see too. Reminded me of when Durant went down with the Warriors.

Signing Ronaldo has ruined Man utd.

Was talking to a friend of mine about this the other day.

Ronaldo is a phenomenal player, but you really could not have found a worse person to bring into that relatively young Man Utd team.

His stature and aura is too big, and all the players in there will look up to him, and instead of using that to encourage them and try and give them more confidence out on the pitch, he actually does the opposite by bitching and moaning at them all the time

He could do that in a more senior team like the one he was in at Juventus, because the likes of Chiellini, Bonucci etc will give it back in good measure and hold him accountable too.

In this situation though, it is a complete disaster.

  5. For the match just gone Sky had the following graphic up briefly at the end of the game for Joelinton ...

    1st in chances created

1st in winning the ball back (tackles)

    1st in interceptions

That’s a bit of a disaster in the end. Two best players injured and they were awful and there for the taking.

Running out of games to say “we’ll be alright if we keep playing like that.” We need wins and a lot of them!

Expected to lose by a couple, mind. So probably being a bit negative. But after seeing how crap they were and how uncomfortable they looked with that formation. We should have won that.

They weren't just crap and there for the taking. That was down to how we were setup and how aggressive we were all over the pitch. Have to give the boys their credit. If we keep these levels we are going to go on a very good run at some point. The right signings will be massive.

Joelinton. Take a bow. Cannot believe it.

He is setting the tone for this high energy type of play. Think others are starting to come along now too.

Shelvey played 90 mins and was quality throughout I thought. Never looked off the pace, which is unbelievable.

Fraser was very good too. Krafth had probably his best game for the club tonight. And even saw glimpses of Longstaff beginning to find some form.

    Very, very encouraging signs.

  8. That was an incredible performance, breath-taking really.

Kept it going even with Wilson going out and then ASM, who are our top two players ... well, after Joelinton of course.

Really good point and would be a great foundation to build from going into some easier games now. But we are going to be missing Wilson and ASM now probably.

The right signings and we will stay up under this manager and coaching staff.

Playing really well tbf. Light years from Bruce performances. Whatever happens this is massive progress.

Yes, absolutely. It's been coming. Getting used to using the ball more and starting to cut out the silly mistakes.

Figuring out the midfield with Joelinton in there has also been massive. Having him in the heart of the side is a game changer.
