We've literally failed to beat Norwich and Watford at home. We may as well have held onto Bruce at this rate.
I think it's probably what some of you lot deserve actually. Mike Ashley and Bruce.

Dummett has played solid.
This is so encouraging, it really is, because we desperately needed someone that can defend on that side.

You stood by Joelinton for two years while he was utter turd. I understand that St Maximain can be frustrating as hell, but he can also obviously do stuff noone else can in our squad.
You're not wrong and there's no disputing that. Just wish he'd be a bit more team oriented. I actually think it will lead to him getting the ball back more often in more dangerous areas higher up the pitch.

Yes the rest of our players are so good at creating and finishing chances we would have this game wrapped up now if ASM wasn't playing
Who said he shouldn't be playing?

You're completely inventing all of these incredible passing opportunities that he's passed up. Genuinely a figment of your imagination.
It's not incredible passes, it's just releasing the ball earlier, particularly in dangerous areas where ha can be prone to giving chances to the other team by losing the ball.

Beautiful timing.
We need him to be better, and I will continue to say it because he needs to improve. We've won one game this whole season, and he has struggled more often than not of late.

I think that goal is precisely why ASM is frustrating. When he is decisive in the right way he works.
I just don't understand why people can't grasp this
We should potentially have wrapped this game up by now. It's a dangerous way to go with the situation we are in.

I don't get this brand of ASM hate. Why do flair players always get it in the neck first
He's not perfect and he should pass more - especially when he's deeper, but calling him lazy is crazy when he just wants to run at the opposition.
It's not 'hate'. The guy is not doing the simple things that could potentially make things a lot easier for us, which is incredibly frustrating. He can be a 'flair' player without being so careless and playing with his head down so much. We especially can't afford it at the moment, as the team needs all the help it can get.

ASM has been undoubtedly poor but he’s our most productive player this season
Yeah, it's easy to say this, but I tend to wonder how many chances we miss coming to fruition because of how often he doesn't release the ball in time to players in space, or loses the ball by doing too much.

Longstaff has been really good. If he keeps this up, then that would be massive to the end of the season.
ASM is basically a counter attacking player only. Absolutely useless when he is tightly marked. Can’t hold it up, poor touch, can’t pass.
This is nervy as fuck.
I agree with this. His play is breaking down so many potential moves that could create even more chances for us to score. It's a big problem.

Could really do with a left footer cutting in from the right to open up even more space for Trippier to get forward, as Almiron just isn't good enough on that side at all. And so I approve of this.

Yeah, I dont understand why we aren't being linked with a CM but Eddie used to make do with Gosling at Bournemouth
We've ben linked with a plethora of midfielders.
I have a feeling the ones we have a very strong interest in are currently at ACON, and because we only have a couple of games this month we are going to wait for them to return and then pounce.

Another very talented left footed centre back to add to the list. Going to be interesting to see which one we land.

My worry is that so far, we've been very public with what we're doing. We've always had an idea of who's coming in, be it player or manager. There's not been a lot of talk about CMs or, more importantly CDMs, unless I've missed something concrete. I really hope we can have someone in before Leeds, because that would be transformational as you say, @The Prophet
Kamara, Fofana, Haidara, Van de Beek, Sangare, Nunes, Guimaraes, Gerson, Zakaria, Berge, Veretout all been linked for midfield.

Of the CB's we've been linked with/bid for then my favorite duo would be Badiashile and Carlos. I prefer Badiashile to Botman. Doubt either will happen.
Think Milenkovic is an alternative to Carlos, and I may prefer Milenkovic as he is younger and a big time prospect too.
-
Dean Henderson I presume.

Apparently RB Leipzig are trying to raise some money for signings themselves this January, as they are not going too well in the league, and so Haidara may well be available for a fair price. BILD has apparently stated that 'we will need to pay more than 20 million Euros', which is very feasible.

Ah, must have missed that bit! Why on earth did they then give him a new contract though? Such a strange situation.

I'm not sure we say with confidence that a winger who's never played at a higher level than the Turkish Super League is a better fit than a proven Premier League goal scorer.
Although he is playing from the left for Besiktas more recently, he's not a winger. It's a fair point though to him not being proven.
Looking at his physical profile it is quite surprising no one in the Prem or high up in the Championship has ever tried for him.
-
Just realised they've got a number of midfielders missing as they are at ACON and they also moved Maitland-Niles to Roma in Jan, who can also play in there. And so this likely screws them in the league now too, as they will be extremely stretched in that position

Can't believe they didn't ship him off to Roma in the summer when they had the chance. Instead they gave that absolute liability a new deal. Peak Arsenal.
A good friend of mine is a die hard Arsenal fan and he was perplexed. They should have taken any money whatsoever that was offered for him. Think it was like £15 million too, which is actually pretty decent for him, as he is a complete disaster for them. Just too slow and cumbersome for Arsenal's style of play. Italy would have actually really suited him.

Arsenal are really still playing Granit Xhaka
The man is a complete and utter idiot man

Yeah, absolutely. Got really good height to go with all of his ability, so definitely a very interesting prospect.

The current centre midfield and centre defence can only play one way. Sitting in deep on top of themselves and hoofing everything away.
Until we get in new central defenders and central midfielders we will continue to struggle.
