Preparing myself for the "Bruce got Almiron firing" narrative.
-
Now that is one man I can be delighted for. Good for him!!!
-
This has got to be the worst game I've seen from us for at least a week.
-
God we need Saint Max fit all season to look remotely dangerous
Absolutely was the only reason we looked even remotely threatening going forward.
The team is being exposed right now with him out.
-
Carroll leaving 3 bodies on the ground
He's going to end up with an injury soon enough, being used as a battering ram all game in this ridiculous team.
-
It's absolutely no different to many games last season mind.
Keep telling yourself that buddy
It was broadly the same IMO. But last year there was faith that there was a season long plan.
I miss Rafa as much as the next man, and trust me I "get it" but the football is a mirror image of the first half of last season, only with more points on the board, we didn't look remotely exciting to watch until the second half of the season.
I disagree completely.
Early last season we still didn't look so incompetent and unconvincing. We defended a lot more but at least looked convincing doing that.
In any case Bruce inherited the team from the end of last season swapping in Joelinton and Saint-Maximin for Perez and Rondon. It's one thingto miss the goals the previous pairing had, but another to now not be able to pass the ball at all.
We are so terrible now it's a joke.

I'd rather play Yedlin or Manquillo on the wrong side than play Dummett.
It's so obvious really. The manager is horrific man.

Ferguson with the sub the sub move again

I firmly believe that Rafa made very average players look so much better and those said players really were. They needed someone like Rafa to nurture them and bring them on. Longstaffe is a classic example, Rafa having worked with him every day for a year before he even made his debut. I kmow he's been injured but he is a shadow of the player he was. Dummett has also gone backwards and I don't see Bruce having whats needed to bring out the best of these guys. Even top players need top coaching, look at Sterling and How Pep and Arteta have transformed him.
that's the difference between elite managers and PFM type garbage, guys like rafa will improve everything across the board...obviously a handful will not take to methods or personalities and in the main top managers will improve most of the players and performances
average PFM's like bruce will improve a handful if they're lucky, some will stay about the same if they're lucky and others will collapse into oblivion
i'd say we've seen improvement from shelvey so far, but i've yet to entirely buy into that, but beyond i'd say what's been noticeable is he's
destroyed almiron
is in the process of destroying joelinton
looks like destroying sean longstaff
thrown Ki in the bin completely
people like hayden, clark, fede have done well under him but i'm not sure you could class any as an improvement on where they were under rafa
Almiron and Longstaff - fair comments.
Joelinton just looks gash - not sure you can blame Bruce for that.
I disagree about Joelinton. I personally won't judge him until Bruce sorts the system or we get another manager that gets him chances nearer goal and he starts missing them.
Carroll, with all his experience, looks equally shit standing up on his own fighting for hoofs against 2-3 defenders. But let's judge a 23 year old new to the country as we always do.
Pepe at Arsenal presumably shit and needs binning as well.
1 goal in 17 though. I mean it's pretty terrible for a striker.
He played fairly well against Spurs, but apart from that he's done fuck all really.
Someone needs to show me a stat on how many chances have been created for him.

I find the Shelvey thing to be so comical. As soon as someone scores a goal they're deemed to be playing well. Um ... okay.
I notice it's the same thing whenever the team manages a result no matter how badly they've played. The performance is just swept under the carpet.
We are eventually going to pay dearly for so many players playing so poorly in general and the subsequent terrible performances overall.
-
That's so bad
And we expect the strikers to be out there all enthusiastic and scoring goals

Hang time.

Did Liverpool really have to play so many kids. This is messed up.
4 - 0 already.
They had no choice though?
How come?
Their full senior squad is in Qatar.
Ah, of course! Wow.
Completely forgot. That's crazy.

Thinks he can do a McClaren. What a clown

Absolutely miserable that business with Ferguson and Kean. Abysmal management. Cowardly almost.
Such a horrible thing to do to a young player trying to find his way man. Terrible to watch.
Just leave him on the bench if you're that uncertain of him at this stage. Really hope Kean can turn things around, that was really unfortunate.

Kaka has a weird Ozil hate. Like that one poster who hates Howe.
No way man
I only comment on him when I'm watching them play! He really is awful though man. It's difficult to watch.
He's been a class player in the past but his performances are shocking for them. He needs to leave Arsenal, and the premier league in general, unless he's on a team like City where he has other top tier players around him and they dominate the ball.
-
Finally hauled off Ozil. What a pathetic showing that was from him. Absolutely disgusting.
What was his reaction
Same as it was on the pitch not fussed. The man is dead inside.

More calm than Kaka I imagine.
Sorry, really don't like Ozil.

Good Shelvey impression by Guendouzi there. Don’t get the hype one bit.
He is brilliant at transitioning the ball from defence to the attacking players. He is the main reason they've had such decent possession today.
Ozil is killing them as he is essentially offering nothing to help out both Guendouzi and Torreira in the middile, either going forward or defensively.
Guendouzia and Torreira have used the ball so well.
He does what any average midfielder can do if that’s all that’s asked of them.
I really think this is a terrible take.
There is a plethora of midfielders that never find space and make themselves available to receive the ball, cannot get the ball in tight spaces and either hold onto the ball or turn away from opposition midfielders and maintain possession, play passes into the feet of attacking players further up the pitch and not keep going sideways, backwards or over their heads. I think he is absolutely brilliant at all of these things.
If he had a better team around him it would be so much more appreciated. Think its incredible that people often slate the guy. Reminds me of the slating of Jorginho previously. I would love to have Guendouzi. The number of times we have to watch our dimwitted midfielders punt the ball at Joelinton/Carroll, or fail to find or release Almiron and Saint-Maximin is enough to make me really appreciate the type of midfielder Guendouzi is. He is quality and he will prove it in time.

Willock for Ozil is such an obvious sub doubt Ljunberg does it though.

Genuinely think Zaha is a fraud. Hides behind the whole "they keep fouling me" thing. He's not that good at all.
