Would be such an awful decision on his part. I'm sure he could do better than West Brom man. Terrible stuff.

Gibbs £12m to West Brom according to Jim White
Now this is completely unacceptable.
That is a transfer we absolutely have to be all over. Arsenal are always so reasonable with their prices man. For goodness sake.
Why on earth he would go to cruddy West Brom is beyond me. We all know by September Pulis will be playing centre backs at full back as he has always done.
-
Man this is depressing.
Rafa did say he really wanted to bring in British players, but these prices on them are just foolish.
How can we possibly spend £25 million on McCarthy man. We are so screwed.
-
That third goal they conceded man
A footballing masterclass
-
Elneny at centre back?!
Showing their opponents absolutely no respect
-
How did Diame look in a holding role yesterday? Kind of like the idea of him dropping deeper this coming season, and playing more of central midfield role like he did initially at Wigan. Don't think he quite has the legs to get up and down as he has in more recent seasons with Hull.

Love this guy's game man. Would be such a great player to support Gayle. So much intelligent use of the ball, and is a goal threat too and especially good in the air.
Please God, keep this man fit for us this season.
-
If we don't meet that price man it would be really pathetic
-
£50 million for a right back man ... geez. One that got dropped by Spurs at certain points of last season and all. Unreal.
-
They used him as an attacking midfielder where he kind of was when he first came through. He started off playing out wide initially and then some behind the striker too I believe.
-
Well that will make it easy to offload him.
-
Love it when a player really wants to join the club.
The club really needs to make this one happen, as the kid is so enthusiastic about joining.
Get his brother in as well also eh? Why not.
-
Man, we are screwed. This is all just so damned unfortunate. Doesn't even sound like Rafa wanted big money, and was being unreasonable. Just so frustrating.
-
Already?! Man this is nuts. The season has come around quickly.

The real financial bonanza of being promoted will come later this month, when the television money falls into bank account of all 20 Premier League clubs. Newcastle then will start feeling like a top flight club once more.
If they do not start acting like one, there is a very good chance they will lose their Champions-League winning manager.
This is a key bit from the Hardy article.
Has he been told to wait for this money to be deposited? Please tell me that this is what is being implied?! It's our only hope man.
That doesn't make any sense man. They've got access to the money or can make assurances to make signings now. They just seem determined not to pay the going rate.
Just wondered why Hardy would add that in there.

It was all going so well
Man ... that would have me absolutely raging, as everything else looks so on point. Urgh!

Cork is quite an intelligent player. Does that role he plays pretty well. Wouldn't necessarily want him here but 10 million isn't a horrendous move for Burnley.
Yeah, but guess what? They have signed a player they want and need. We on the other hand have hardly done a thing.
-
Seems Rafa really wanted to bring in prem experienced players and establish a British core, but we are being quoted big fees, which is what it is. We may just have to go for players abroad at this point.
The latest now is that we are trying still to get the price down for James McCarthy from £20 million, but Leicester are now in the picture, Delph was the cheaper alternative at £12 million but Stoke are in the picture there.
This is all really pathetic. Let's just get some friggin players in for goodness sake.
-
Begging them to add a couple of million for a player that was willing to drop down to a division he excelled in and help get us back up?! Man the jokers that run this club are an absolute shambles.

Stoke is fantastic
Cold, wet and dirty. My goodness
-
The problem for Benitez is that the transfer market is highly inflated with some ridiculous prices being quoted and those above him at St James’ Park believe they will get better value for money later in the window.
I feel this is the crux of it. We will try to be clever and wait till later, and then nothing will pan out and the window will close without us having achieved much of anything.
They do this all the time. Things get worse the closer to the window closing you get. Absolute jokers.

Rafa's gone.
Not our one though

Well well ... hallelujah.
Good to see us try and sign some young English talent from the lower leagues at last.
The new head of recruitment did a lot of scouting for the under 21s right? Rafa may well be tapping into some of that knowledge.
Looks like these are the only English players we'll be able to afford if Rafa is trying to buy more of those.
