  1. Areet mate, key word is potential, probably the weaker of the two twins, but bags of talent, great pace and control, ability to score goals, usually from cutting in from left flank, right footed, but left also good, good either flank and I felt he had potential as a number 10 off a big man. As for weaknesses, can be inconsistent, defensively reluctant to defend his fullback, can wonder out of position, and is physically weak, for a wide player his crossing is dogshite, and some games for no reason seems reluctant to take on his man. Honest opinion we've kept the better of the two and the fee is about right, but feels like a punt for the lad and you, I reckon he's a year short of being ready for the Prem, and think he may struggle to impose himself, needs to be drilled to  do simple things consistently well.

Opinion from a clued-up Norwich fan I've known for nearly 20 years. Not taking it as gospel but he knows his s***.

Jacob seemed to play more games last season though, no? Also, he was the only one that got called up for England it seems.

How come the other brother isn't getting as much interest if he's better? Just out of interest?

Rafa did say they were actually watching the other brother last season, and so maybe we shoudl go for him now, while his stock isn't quite as high.

  2. Wilshire was a brilliant prospect and I was already a big fan of him at the level he got to, but I'm very sceptical of him now, like. I don't know the deets, but not being able to get a game at Bournemouth doesn't look good on paper.

Apparently Wilshire has the same problem as Costa, too many house partys with lots of expensive wine drunk.

    :kinnear:

  3. I used to rate Wilshire but my brother in law who is a Gooner says his attitude and lifestyle is not that of a pro footballer and that these days he's s***.

I've never understood the hype over Wiltshire.  There's no doubt he's very talented but he's never fit and even when he is he's not as good as the southern media make out.  He seems to believe his own hype aswell which makes him hard to like.  I hope we stay well away.

  4. Very cool story. That Glenn Hoddle academy is a pretty cool thing man. Is it still going?

Anyway I know Rafa talked a lot about character and guys that have been tested, and he would definitely fit the bill in that regard. Kid did a great job to make something of himself and rise so quickly. Very impressive.

  5. Seems like he really wanted Murphy so thank God that has been done. We just continue to hope that he gets what he wants. It is a miracle we have ended up with the guy. We really need him to be here long term.

  6. We really going to judge the kid based on him playing for THAT Sunderland team?! Come on now

Remember some junk being talked about Yedlin last year and all.

Looking forward to seeing how he comes along under the guidance of our stud manager. Happy Rafa has got a player that he wants.

  7. His coventry highlights show him on the left a lot and he looked very good attacking from that position. Linked up quite sensationally with Armstrong a number of times.

  8. They used him out wide at times, but don't think he really fits there. His best play at Bordeux was through the middle and getting in behind as a striker.

It's similar to how our very own Gayle was put out wide at times, due to his smaller stature, but is not really suited there at all. Their both smaller strikers that are poachers IMO.

  9. Rolan and Manquillo signing would be a big vote of confidence for both Gayle and Yedlin as guaranteed first teamers IMO. As I'd see those two as young backups that Rafa could further develop, though they have had decent experience. Both did really well as under 21 international players too, and so have some pedigree.

  10. Very interesting stuff. Looks like he has been given leeway to use the budget as he sees fit, and so there really is no excuse for the slow movement.

Really beginning to wonder if the major issues are with Charnley just being rubbish at pushing deals through.

  11. £7 million for a loan

Pulis will do anything for a 6 ft 4 centre back man. My goodness

Pulis is not the Stoke manager.

 oh dear ... my mistake.

Mark Hughes is usually pretty good in the transfer market. Surprised he didn't just go for someone with that money.

They probably will have an option for a permanent deal though. If they have an option to pay another £10 million next summer to make it permanent then it might be an alright deal actually.
