  1. Thought I heard that as well
  2. Isak one on one not taken. Good to see he's still got that in him.
  3. The state of this Liverpool team man
  4. Not sure how that goes through Marmadashvilli.
  5. Yup. Villa right back in the mix after what was a horrendous start for them.
  6. Even though they no longer give penalties if the ball hits your hand in a natural position in close proximity, these defenders are still focusing more on having their hands behind their back than they are getting in position to block the shot. Terrible defending.
  7. Forest are far more ambitious than Fulham have been. Would be a good move for Silva, especially as he's already familiar with Marinakis.

Hmmm. It's a tough one. I think in build up having that room for him to move around in and receive the ball works, because he will drift towards both channels. Makes it less likely he'll get crowded out when he gets on the ball. The Union game was a good example. I think the central midfield players need to do a better job of getting the ball into him earlier on and running off him when he's on the ball. Do think the wingers will need to do a better job of picking their moments to come inwards too though, but moreso further up the pitch once we're in the final third.

We still don't give him the ball enough in build up play. When he finds space give him the ball. Especially when he has room in front of him to carry it, which we haven't seen enough of yet. There was a sequence that led to Ayari's shot for Brighton that they almost scored from. Woltemade starts off with some nice link up to get us out from the back, and when the ball works it's way to Tonali, Woltemade wants it back where he can turn and carry it forward, and Tonali dwells on the ball and is trying to switch it wide to Trippier and loses it. Give him the ball back! As much as I like Tonali and Bruno, I expect much more from them when it comes to these kinds of decisions, and just doing a better job of maintaining possession of the ball and control of the game. Better use of the ball is going to be down to them two.
  10. Yeah, we need other similar options to Tino and Hall when they're out. Our full backs are quite important to our build up and attacking play.
  11. We really could do with another pair of full backs that can get up and down the pitch and support attacks. Not helping our forward play at all having both Trippier and Burn in those positions.
  12. Yeah, seemed like they were trying something today that the players weren't quite executing correctly.
  13. Centre man. Where the holding midfielder typically sits in a 4-3-3.
  14. One of the midfielders should be sitting deeper just in front of the defence.
  15. On the first one I think Botman ideally should step out to meet Rutter. Welbeck would have then been offside. But he shouldn't be in that position in the first place. One of the midfielders should be picking up Rutter. On the second one the player gets into a gap between Botman and Burn. Burn recovers and wins the tackle but it comes to Welbeck on the edge of the box, where the holding midfielder should be, but even then is still absent from.

I'm so happy for this guy. What a start man. Just need everyone else to catch up to him now! Not surprised he's said that about the players looking for him here, having watched his games for the German senior team. Lovely improvisation on the finish today. Wish we'd at least held on for a point. It deserved at least that much.

With Tino out, and no real overlap down that side from Trippier he should be instructed to keep things a lot simpler and straightforward for now. Stay high and wide and attack the full backs on the outside and put balls into the box. He did this most often against Barca so far. Seems to be over thinking and over complicating things. Need to get him back to doing the basic job of a more traditional winger first and foremost. Should only be looking to cut inside if the defender starts leaving that inside lane wide open because he's being killed on the outside. Just a matter of time.
  18. I agree. But it was so blatant it looked like some kind of instruction. Especially because no one was closing down either. Do also wish we had a holding midfielder with more natural defensive instincts in the squad like you say.
