  1. Yeah, was surprised we didn't rotate some of the guys that had a busy international break. Probably should have started Barnes, Murphy and Miley. Likely going to need to start most of them again midweek against Benfica now.
  2. On both goals our midfield 3 are in a flat straight line not closing down anyone, and just watching the Brighton player on the ball, who casually plays it in behind all 3 of them and they're running at our defence. I'm completely baffled by that defensive setup and what they were trying to do. It looked like some sort of mid block that was being executed very poorly. One of the midfielders sitting a bit deeper in front of the defence and it could have been avoided, or even just closing down their man on the ball. Very strange. Hope that's sorted out and never seen again.
  3. Played some really good stuff at times too. Crazy this has ended up with Chelsea up three goals.
  4. Pitiful stuff from Sangare. Just terrible.
  5. Put the ball in the net you clowns.
  6. So many chances being wasted ...
  7. Forest have started well here. Hope they can get the result.
  8. After all the noise the last few days of who'll be after him this summer, the Telegraph were reporting earlier today that Forest won't sell for less than £100 million this summer. He's now looking like a fixture in the England team and in that sense has now moved ahead of Wharton, who Palace were already quoting similarly high figures for already. Don't think anyone has a chance of getting him out of Forest anytime soon. Not unless they are ready to throw some serious money around.
  9. Think Gordon has that left wing position sewn up for England now. Think it's going to be a big boost for him and will translate at club level too. After the game, Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel spoke highly of the Newcastle winger, hailing how direct and relentless he is, describing the intensity of his running on and off the ball as “so, so good.” “I think it’s a very good performance,” Tuchel said. “I think Anthony deserved to stay in the team. He is a direct player, I think this is his biggest strength, to go direct and go again and again. “To have this repetition in his intensity. He just collects high intensity runs, he collects metres in sprints and this is so, so good. “It’s important that he knows his strengths and plays exactly into his strengths. Now we play a high-press and he’s important against the ball. “He was clinical today with the first goal that calmed our nerves and set the tone and set the game in the right direction. So, well played again. Another good performance from him.”
  10. Nice! First international goal. Get in!
  11. Need to see more of that creativity when we've pinned teams back, and are trying to find an opening.

The coach is too focused on doing his Pep style impersonation, instead of putting the players he has in the best position to utilise their own skill sets. Thought the team was an awful watch, and looked completely clueless. Ended up scoring from Luxembourg making a mess of things mostly.

Seems you get this designation nowadays if your team passes side to side all game at the edge of the opposition's box. Strange times.

They don't play the ball into him and they don't find him with crosses when they can be bothered to cross. I don't know who the under 21 manager is, but they should put him in charge. That team he played in over the summer was much more dynamic and effective.
  15. Mourinho is so childish and toxic man
  16. It's so bad Never work it out wide for a cross. Just pass it side to side till they either give it away or shoot from 30 yards!
  17. Yeah, I'm pretty sure he'll be involved in all those discussions and will have his say. Ultimately, Howe has had final say on signings up to now and that's set to continue. And so need someone that is aligned with what he's trying to do with the squad. If that's not the case then there's no point keeping the manager.
  18. Absolutely vital. Otherwise might as well sack him and start over.
  19. Like the sound of that tbh. Sounds ideal. Howe's situation is quite unique, but he's earned the right to have things set up in a way that works for him. Wilson will be clear on what is expected from the outset, and so there should be no surprises this time around. Just glad they've found someone that's on board with the whole setup, because I think it's pretty crucial.
  20. It's not typical I don't think, but from the way things have transpired since the takeover, I think it makes the most sense. Wouldn't necessarily think he's picked him per se, but moreso that he's been involved in the selection process, which certainly wasn't the case with Mitchell.
